  1. The +def is so low, it's not gonna help much. Nor will the imob protection when it comes to activating stuff like Eclipse. Maybe if a KB protection IO is slotted in it, but otherwise no.
  2. Might be, but from context I doubt it. Shadow Cloak wont make activating a PBAOE too much safer, since everything sees you anyway. Neb Form however does. It prevents all damage to you. But at the cost of preventing you from doing anything to the enemies.
  3. For my Huntsman build, I'm taking Fortification, Serum, Crab Spider Upgrade, and the pets. Maybe the leadership pool too for more +def granting. But then, my main build is a crab spider anyway. Already got the backpack, may as well get the resistance too.

One of those fun i13 changes.
Huh, haven't found anyone in a PvP zone in so long, didn't notice that.

Problem I believe is that Nebulous Form makes it impossible to affect the enemy. And Unchain Essence doesn't form pets. It does aoe damage centered upon a corpse.

Now another thing that would make a keld better vs anyone with a hold... The fact you can use Dwarf form as a breakfree. Nice change from a PvE perspective. Stopped all those deaths from "Tp in dwarf>mire>human>held>dead". From a PvP perspective though, not as nice for those relying on holds.

I might just drop the awesome resist in exchange for fun lol.
Get the personal attacks, use the personal attacks, and never have endurance again
  8. Either really. If he loves melee, a night widow may not be apropriate. Or bane spider. However forts or crabs can be very effective. As can a huntsman build. No matter what though, the built in leadership toggles help the whole team.
  9. I could be wrong, but I think they tried that with mercs. As I understand it, mercs still ran into melee range.
  10. We already have a lot of control over our pets. We IMO don't really need control over which powers they used. _Castle_ is always working on pet AI I think. Either way, having hotbars for every single pet separately would be... a huge screen clutter.

Thanks for all the input though. And, keep it coming!

EDIT: Also, Share Pain dispenses the damage out amongst your pets if you're in BG mode, which I always am. That's likely why I don't notice a problem.
It's not the up front damage so much, as the "you can't be healed" part. Every time I used it, I'd get smacked a couple times and be unable to recover the lost HP.
  12. And in WoW pet classes rarely have more then one pet out at any given time. My warlock for example can only have... one pet. My death knight can have... one pet. My hunter can have... one pet. Each pet has six or so abilities, and are usually on 'auto use' for abilities that matter. Other then clicking the spell/attack to use, all you can do is order them to attack, follow, or put them on one of 2 stances (aggressive or passive). The UI is cumbersome to use too other then mouse clicking.

My mastermind has... six pets. Each pet might have between six to eight abilities. I can tell them where to move to as a group or individually. I can set each pet to eitehr attack everything they see, only what attacks first, or never attack unless ordered. I can specifiy who each pet should attack separately. I can tell them to wait in one spot, or I can have them follow me around. I can focus their fire on one target, have them each take out someone seperate, or let them chose their own targets. And the UI to do all this is easy to use. In fact it's customizable. I can create binds to have as much or little control over my six pets as I want.

And you want to have to specify which attack each henchman uses too? I'm already busy with controlling my pets.
  13. Eclipse can easily cap your damage resistances. That's why it's so good.

For me, cause my only experiences with Dark Melee are paired with Regen or Dark Armor.

Stop the hyperbole please. It has 75% to-hit same as your regular attacks. If it's only hitting half the time, that means you are hitting the purple patch all the time. Or fighting things that debuff tohit constantly. Either way, the situation is fixable. Tactics, of course.

The last time I tried a /pain mastermind, I found that Share Pain was a sure way to get myself killed, even with body guard and health. Especially if over used... such as using it as a main heal.
  17. And less endurance for whoever did the teleport?

And against an enemy which specializes in ranged attacks too. Sky Raider Porters tend to not teleport when immobilized. Is it 'cheating' to take advantage of that to keep them in one spot? You can confuse a force field generator to make it give you the defense instead of the enemy. Is that cheating? or is it using tactics?

It's the same basic principle behind using Gang War when fighting an elite boss. Distract them, and/or keep them away from the thugs. In another fantasy based MMO I play people use shield walls to keep casters safe from a specific AV type quest chain boss. It's the same concept. The OP just used Inferno's minions for that.

I guess you feel it's cheating to get an enemy to pull out their melee weapon, then constantly back-peddle to avoid being hit by it too?
  19. So Silverado, I take it you view using imobilizes and then standing just outside of an enemy's attack range while pelting them with attacks is considered an exploit? I know many people who do that to mobs with short range attacks. You know, such as anything using a shotgun.

How about hovering just out of range of an enemy group, and sniping them repeatedly? Do you view that as an exploit too?
  20. The trick as I under stand it is to NOT get directly in melee. Rather get them in the outer area of Hurricane. That has a tohit debuff, then if they get into melee range the knockback part kicks in. Some people use hurricane to herd enemies into a corner.

    WS and pvp?

I guess part of my view is... that I don't build for "I can win every fight" in pvp. Rather I build a char that's good for PvE, and then take it into PvP. If I can win about as often as I lose, I deem it good for pvp.

It's pretty basic really. For powers:

    Ninja
    Summon Genin (1 acc/3 dam)
    Train (2 end redux)
    Summon Jounin (1 acc/3 dam)
    Summon Oni (1 acc/3 dam/1 hold/1 end redux)

You get the idea. For secondary, I ended up taking all but Antidote. General slotting was 1 acc/3 of whatever enhancement type is needed for the debuff. Think I put a range in nox gas too. Aid Other and Aid Self were slotted with 3 heal. Didn't even bother with interupt enhancements.

One thing that helped was creating pet target binds.

    WS and pvp?

I do PvP on occasion, mostly in the zones. Then again my main PvP characters are Madam Enigma (claw/sr scrapper) and the pre-reroll Poison Bloom (ninja/poison mastermind). What I don't do is mire myself in the pvp forum. When I took my warshade into sirens call though, I did all right. Those battles in there are perfect for a tri-form warshade.
  24. Keep in mind, share pain stops you from being healed for a bit and damages you to boot. Over use of share pain can and will kill you. Because of that, share pain is much more situational then sooth. If dropping one of them, share pain would be my first choice.
  25. I have a SO only guide for travel powerless claw/sr scrapper.
