Yeah I said it!
They want us to run to GW2, so the canned CoH only a mere 3 days after GW2 started.

I often wondered if I was, but in the end not really. I might have had a number of "furry" characters, but after actually meeting a number of real furrys I knew I wasn't.
-MCM -
I have dabbled in other MMOs from time to time, this is the only one I always stuck with. I have nothing now. I planed on playing for years to come.
-
I know, but I can't help but feel betrayed. Maybe they might listen if we keep talking about it.

So from what I have read in the suggestion section there has been a call for a type of beastly type melee power set. From the looks of things, we might get it. However as a player who used the claw set with his main character year 1 of the game I can't help but feel a little betrayed by the concept. I stuck with the claws for many years hoping that it would eventually give us the option of some real claws via the power customization. Now if they go through with this more feral type melee set us claw guys will get left forced to re-roll instead of just getting the customization a lot of us wanted, leaving the many badges and history we collected stuck on a toon with an inappropriate character.
I think this can be prevented a few ways.
1. They actually go through and customize the claw set instead of making the new set.
2. Allow for full badge and history transfers.
3. Mod the alt build system to include A) Having to start at level 1 again and B) Allow for different powers with-in the same archetype. (This option would cost twice as much as a new character per toon it is used on)
4. Allow us to start a character over at level 1 with different powers but the history, items in inventory, and badges are all the same. (Would include a respect to re-claim IOs that you wanted to keep)
-Yes I know we are never going to get a flat full power set re-spec.
The customization that would need to take place probably would not need a new power set powers, just new weapons. The weapons would be over-sized gloves that would fit over most hands, with the normal claws require a no-animation setting.
How does everyone else think about this possibility?
What ideas to solutions mechanically to this potential problem do you have? (other than the tolling of "QQ and re-roll"). -
Yeah Robotic 2 should be able to do what you want, however I think the entire robotic settings should be scrapped to allow for separate upper and lower armor selection, not requiring robotic or not.
I would love to have robotic arms for my armored or coated characters. -
You lose, A LOT for this, to bring you down to level 1 all over again.
System wise, once they get it set up, it is totally automated, and is no real problem to them. Honestly the cheaper these things, like server transfers and name changes, are the more money they will get because people will use them more. Having a name change cost as much as it does now, is counter productive to a good business plan. -

I had an idea that maybe they could make a full secondary build for the same toon, with different power sets. Just mod the current system for a different build that we currently have to also allow for different levels.

Personally I would actual Thriller dance. Not just something similar with the pop dance.

I was just thinking "Halloween is almost here, wouldn't it be nice if we had a scythe weapon." Then I thought about which power-set would it work for. I came up with two, the titanic weapon and poll-arm weapon sets.
To top this off, this new holiday weapon would be a rather great way to draw more people to buy the power set too, for those who were feeling festive.
This is too good of an opertinuty to miss, marketing wise.
So I predict that we will have a scythe weapon this October! -
Here is one this is frequently known but I am going to say anyways.
If you activate the ninja run ability, hit a power to draw a weapon, and then do an emote animation you will do the emote with the weapon/s in hand.
Note: You will probably need to command the emote multiple times to actually perform it.
-
Personally I would like Ninja run that is just an animation override of the normal animations but with no endurance cost. That way we can use whatever power we want and have the run animation set to this with no cost.

Quote:This is exactly why I added that last sentence to my OP. We really don't know what is going on behind the scenes. So all we can do is show support to something like this. We've been told repeatedly that costume items can't have more than two colours, yet every costume item saved in a costume file has listings for four colours. Moreover, capes and the trenchcoat coat tail support four colours. I don't know what the problem is, but clearly ways exist to work around it.

Quote:Ascension, when you get to the higher graphics settings, has a blue ting to it for me for some reason.? It's still available in the costume creator on beta (and does not yet have the updated coloration).
Unless you mean removed from the reward tree? It was removed from there long ago, when Mecha Armor appeared.
Also, what's this about Ascension? It's always colored fine for me (well, there are the wrappings on the gloves/boots that prefer to stay greyish). Or does it behave differently on some graphics settings?
Also also, HOORAY CELESTIAL THAT COLORS PROPERLY!
P.S. Perhaps its the reflective nature of the pieces at sets the color off.

Quote::PI'll stop my clocks at noon so I can be right at midnight, too.
P.S.
I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about it if I wasn't flamed so badly, then heard no anger about it on the forums toward the devs for it afterwards.
P.P.S. Most clocks have a AM and/or PM indicator. -
Quote:Okay, interesting argument. Thanks for the info. That is incorrect.
For example, when you're on a ITF and the Cimerorans have shred your defense to nothing, OWTS is really nice to get that immediate 70% Sm, Le resists (will be able to cap at 90% in I24). And it gives recovery, better status protection, and the crash is manageable. Physical Perfection is a good power, but IMO, it's not going to give you the same benefit that OWTS will, not even close.
But Hack or Slash? Isn't hack supposed to be the weaker of the two powers, or does it really matter? -
Quote:Well that is what people said about a way to implement a loyalty catch up system by using money, I got horrifically flamed for such a suggestion, and look at us now. So any such arguments such as a simple no, or never going to happen, really probably don't know anything about the dev side of things. So interest or Lack of interest is all that is really viable in these suggestion threads really.Delete the word 'simply' from #2, and I'd probably agree with #1. As it stands,
Simply stop suggesting things that aren't going to happen, and this won't be a problem.
Thanks for your support though.
