As of now the NCsoft sort is down of maintenance. I assume that when it gets back we will have the new Animal Pack available!
So if you hear anything, or saw anything new, feel free to post it here. -
Maybe the added material could bring more people to buying the packs that had not already?

Not necessarily, it could make it look like they are getting more out of their movement; especially with the ninja run as you seem to really beet your feet down quite repeatedly. Hard to say without seeing it for ourselves. However maybe adding an up in speed of the animation for super run would be nice, but wouldn't be all that tough at all really.
-
With the [Beast Run] power coming, and the [Ninja Run] power already here, I was thinking; wouldn't it be great if they had these great animations separate from any power effects, but allow the animations to work no matter the power being use, such as super speed or whatever.
So I purpose this none PvP functioning powers.
[Ninja Sprint] and [Beast Sprint]
These two powers would override all other run animations, but grant zero bonus at all, not even the semi-suggested sprint effect. Similar powers could be created for future clone movement powers. They would not be able to be slotted with any enhancements. Also this will keep the devs from having to build a new run animation selection section somewhere else in the game.
So who is with me? -

I don't know if I was just blind before, or if this is new, but has anyone else noticed this? Has this been in plane view all the time and I just hadn't really noticed it?
Does this mean we are getting a Vanguard backpack item with the new Vanguard Booster? Or am I just re-noticing something that has always been there? -

However I wonder if this was an intended drawback of that power. -
-
This might not be the way to do it, but an increase is needed. Me and my 9 friends who play together regularly constantly have problems were new characters can no longer get added to the SG because we don't have any more room.
-
Hey I like steampunk more than these animal parts. However I do like my occasional beast toon to look cool. Actually I have more Tech based toons than anything else.
-
We all know that the new Animal Pack is coming, and those of us who have been on the Test Server have gotten a look at the parts and textures first hand. I couldn't help but notice one small lacking item. The Feline Face does not have the new Animal Fur option.
Why is this a problem?
One thing that would be really nice, is if the old beast items meshed well with the new Animal Pack. With Out this option it is impossible to match the Feline Face with the new cat parts color and texture wise.
So if it wouldn't be too hard to do, could we please add this option to the pack, even if it can't be done till post release.
Thank you,
MCM -
Great idea,
To only fix the graphics for each of them. It sometimes gets to be next to impossible to tell what each of them do by the color/graphic combination.

I like this Animal Pack. However I really need an animal fur version of the feline face. I can't get that rich color on the face, and I can't get the face to match the rest. Is there any way we can possible try and get this added to the pack?

Quote:Thank you! This is a rework of something close to my live build with Hover and Fly replacing Aid Another and Aid Self (and the order of several powers is different).

I a little set off by spin not having 6 slots, but I will probably give it a try.
Can you give me any pointers on making and understanding these builds please? -
-
Quote:I was right, that is a TON of new parts! AND skin patterns yay! Didn't think they could fit that into a standard origin booster, that is why it wasn't in the mutant booster.
"OVER 60 new costume parts and patterns!" -
Personally I always thought a simple motorcycle could be done. The only real problems would be water and jumping. Jumping could be explained as the hero could still sort of jump with a typical motorcycle, however that would still leave water and swimming. Turning would be like ninja run animation, very quick, but do-able, and not impossibly bad looking. Pedestrians could still theoretically bump into them and cause problems so the need for no-clip would not be there.
Yeah, it could be done as super run, but with different animation, but to fix this last problem, I am thinking of more a alternate stealth power. Ups sprint speed a little, same stealth bonus, but with an added resist damage effect. Does not work in water or some mission maps. More bonuses to stealth might be in order, up to invisibility probably, as attacks would be impossible. -
Quote:Just a thought, maybe they fell behind and didn't get it done in time. Add the perhaps larger amount of content they might be putting in, and it might not have jived as an origin pack.I agree. I was at Comic-Con a year ago and personally heard this. I made it a point to talk to Positron and specifically asked him if we could get the existing animal-themed sets completed (like a bull head to match the existing hooves, an insect head to match the existing feet and wings, etc). His response was that I should be pleased with the mutant booster when it comes out. Now, while that was not an outright promise that the mutant pack would be animal themed, it certainly gave that impression to me. From the feedback I saw when the mutant pack came out, I wasn't the only one to get that impression.
I think its nice that the devs have listened to the feedback from then and decided to build a proper animal themed pack. I've already reserved a couple of names for characters that I plan to build once it comes out. -
Quote:Wish they could get a hint, we want CLAWS dammit! What they could do is take the weapon slot for the normal claws and turn them into extensions of the hands, and have them auto set to be always on. Yeah the animations would be restricted with those claws (maybe just at-first), but dammit, we would at-least get them. When they showed off the Mutant Pack, there was a resounding outcry of, "Meh." Because people had it in their heads from hints Positron had dropped that the Mutant Pack was going to be an Animal Pack. (That thread is probably still around to see.) Lots of people then talked about what they wanted in an animal pack and I posted numerous photos of animals who all had fluffy tails similar to wolves. I don't recall how many animal pictures I posted, but it was more than a dozen. And then suddenly Jay creates this fluffy wolf tail and it's stuck into the pack at the last minute. David even said Jay whipped it up in a few days. That one addition almost certainly boosted sales of that pack far beyond what they would've been, based on the number of people who said they were now going to drop $10 just to get the tail.
That's an example of a thing added to a pack at the last minute. I'll bet money that they're watching these threads closely and have added a few things based on feedback. There have been a lot of good ideas which would be relatively painless and easy to add without a great deal of extra work, such as a few different ear styles or beak styles. I also like the ideas people have had about fish and frog heads. I'd totally make a character based around those, and a frog wearing a hat? Are you kidding me?
So yes, they can absolutely make this pack far bigger -- GIGANTIC, even -- by holding off a couple more weeks and adding more coolness to it.
Claws would be good not just for the animal pack, but demons and other monsters would probably LOVE integrating them into their costumes. -
If anyone has any suggestions, the sky is the limit on the cost. I am looking at end costs to not need to re-buy much of anything later on.

Quote:Meh, I always like were-wolves since I was like 9. I just thought they were cool. Does that make me a "furry"? I don't care really, but I am glad to see a decent wolf head coming.though i have no interest in this animal pack, and honestly the amount of "furry" adoration on these forums sometimes disturbs me, i do so hope that this pack is done well. because that should give some indication of the level of the steampunk pack right around the corner, and that i AM looking forward to. so, lets all hope for numerous pieces (i agree the last couple have been kinda lite on content for their price), all well done, no major clipping issues, and an obvious intent to utilize the graphics capabilities of this game to near max. this will all bode well for my impending steam punky goodness.
