Granite can dish out decent damage, I do agree on that. However, a brute in granite will never be as fast and damaging than a brute outside of it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But a brute in Granite can kill those mobs that another brute would have been floored by, it takes a few more mins than the none granite brute, but the granite brute has the advantage he will still be standing after 3 mins rather than lying on the floor of running screaming "I'M ABOUT TO CRASH" lol.

Their greater staying power enables them to actually kill more and keep their fury high, and remember the 30% comes off the % of fury as well so say for example you have 250% due to fury on a EM non granite you would then have 220% on a Granite. Say your base damage is 50 this would give 175 Damage on the non granite and 160 Damage on a Granite, whereas the damage taken is as we know much less on a granite than a non granite on most types of damage.

So there we have it, I know 50 damage is just given as an example, but you can see the differance is just 15 points, and the Granite can have mudpots running as well so this will take care of that differance, althogh loadsa armours have an aura to, so this could be explained and excussed away again.

The way I see it not much in it really, fury maintained due to survivability, -recharge on a brute negated because we dont have to slot damage so can slot end reds and recharges, -70% run speed, well all stone armours should take swift and 3 slot it, this helps negate that, and because of granite you can root when in combat having gathered the mobs, and above all a granite tank only needs to run at a minimum 1 toggle, the granite, to survive, same on a brute, and the end cost is 0.13, add in rooted 0.13 again, mudpots is the biggy at 1.56 I think, and tough on a brute at 0.2. Put some end reds in mudpots, rooted and tough and away you go.

Never really had an end problem on mine except in really extended fights, but these usually happen in team situations, and against heros and AV's, and everyone usually has the problems then, not just me, excepting if we've go a /kin around then it's just amazing for ALL.

I'll leave you with this though, for a brute to keep ding his Bruting you have to be able to survive incoming damage as well as dish it out, take less = survive longer = dish out more damage.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, you can negate some of the side effects, but a brute outside of granite will still be doing more. Also, the whole consept of granite is against the consept of the brute AT. The devs didn't give brutes ice armor due to the fact that CE had -recharge on foes, which would slow down fury generation, and IMO if they thought that they shouldn't have fiven them granite either, because it really slows down fury generation, and the effect.

You say the -70% rech can be negated by slotting recharges, but a non-granite brute can slot those recharges and attack even faster. Also, a stone brute is still slow even with swift, and teleport just isn't usable in some situations. While a granite can take more damage, in most cases a non-granite can take the damage just fine, while dealing higher damage, thus defeating the foes faster.

Well, you didn't, you asked what my source was, as if player experience counts for nothing which is a little irritating.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why's it irritating? Do you always expect total strangers to accept your word on something? Do you accept the word of toal strangers to be automatically correct? If so, I have some magic beans you might be interested in

[/ QUOTE ]Well, it might be something to do with the fact that filth is one of the best stone armor experts on these boards....but hell, what do I know?
  3. Tuesday 1/8/2006 (Today, that is), looking for a start around 1-2 PM BST. More accurate time coming up once we get confirmations from people on when they can start. Team slots will be prioritized for people who frequent the forumites TS and Global, but if we won't get full 8 people from there will be taking extra's from elsewhere.

Level range: 23-28, higher characters exemplared.
Number of missions: 7 instanced (2 easily ghostable), 2 delivery, 2 hunt
    Estimated completition time: 2-4 hours.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

Even with 3 slows mine barely touches +5s and above and you only have to be the lowest member of a team that is doing +2s/+3s to the highest member. Not an uncommon occurance.

[/ QUOTE ]Depends on whether or not you team with smart people

And yes, all power effectiviness scales very steeply after you're fighting +3's or higher, so against +5 or +6 your powers are next to useless.

Now, get posting episode 2.2 then
  6. I think petcom_name Mr Grey GoTo should work for the suicide zombie.

The spirits are supposed to be stronger from higher rank minions, but I've never got around testing it.
  7. You can't slot FR for resistance debuff, since there are no resitance debuff enhancements. The best way to slot it is 3 recharge, and then a mix of DefDebuff and EndRdx.
  8. I'd definitely get aid self rather than REN and REL.
  9. Granite can dish out decent damage, I do agree on that. However, a brute in granite will never be as fast and damaging than a brute outside of it.

    AR/Ice

Ignite is the AR power, which is like burn, but ranged. It causes a fear effect, but /ice has ice patch (or slick, whatever), which can be used to keep enemies on the burn patch of ignite.

Oil slick is totally unrelated, it's the TA power, which can be ignited by any fire or energy damage.
  11. MaXimillion_Zero

    AR/Ice

The main good thing about the set is the Ignite+ice patch combo, other than that, there's not too much synergy, but they're still both decent sets.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    So absolutely no damage enhs?

[/ QUOTE ]Personally, I'm going 1 acc 1 endrdx 1 rech to all my attacks (except maybe the 1st one), and then adding extra enhancements when I have spare slots. Those might be damage, but they might also be more recharge/endrdx, or even things like range, depending on the power.
  13. I7 gave us defence scaling, which means that SR is now much better against higher level foes.
We also got changes to the first three claws animations, which increased the DPS of the set nicely.

If you left after I5, you don't know about ED, but your last posts seem to have been made during I6, so I assume you already know that you should only slot 3 of one enhancement type to one power, because after that that slotting more of same type will give very small effect.
  14. Best for PvE is Fire/Fire, because AoE is king in PvE.

Granite, overpowered? Bah, granite is, and will always be gimped, unless they remove all the penalties.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Somehow from all the replies about Granite armour I've seen from u MaX I get the ideal that you don't have anything good to say about this set then, you are replying identically to questions about Stone in the Brute section.

    lol

[/ QUOTE ]That is because granite goes directly against the whole consept of the brute AT.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
It will prevent knockback for about 10 seconds. It's hardly the end of the world and that ice controller should take a chill pill.

[/ QUOTE ]If the mobs are high level, and the only control on them is ice slick, an AoE immob can easily get a few teammates killed.

just leg for the kills and heal yourself, squishies are way to survivable with aid self, i think it needs a nerf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A squishies survivability with aid self is still way below that of a scrapper or tank.

[/ QUOTE ]And especially that of a scrapper or tank with aid self, which costs them just as manny power picks to take.
  18. With that slotting, going to struggle for endurance before L36.

As a brute, fury builds your damage, endurance, acc and recharge are the priorities in slotting.

Plant/ and Earth/ controls are easily negated in PvP by jumping around. You get "Held" each time you hit the ground, but can bounce back up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How the hell do you jump when held. I think what you wanted to say is that Plants and Earth holds dont have a -fly part to them. Wich I can kinda under stand but why dose cages and roots have -fly then bloody stupid design if you ask me.

[/ QUOTE ]Because if you're holding the jump key, you'll be up in the air again before the hold actually applies. This is because those holds only work on targets on the ground.

Is stasis really having an affair with bridger? Also, what is her current relationship with Chiefette, and Silver Weasel?
  21. [ QUOTE ]

And if you're using TP for inside missions, no need for End, but for getting to missions a long way away (where TP is best) the End Rdx are teh roxx.

[/ QUOTE ]I can TP from one end of IP to the other without stopping to rest on the way, with 3 range and nothing else in TP.
  22. That's the whole game in general. In hollows, you meet mostly trolls (100% S/L), outcasts (S/L, with higher ranks and levels doing fire/ice/nrg) and igneus (S/L, higher ranks S/L/F). Energy damage becomes slightly more abudant in later game tho', since you start meeting more advanced villain groups.
  23. MaXimillion_Zero

    FF/Energy Build

True, with vigilance end isn't that big of a consern. However, there can be situations in which you need to bubble the whole team, when they're at full HP, and you have toggles on, in which I'd say 1 EndRdx helps.

Blizzard is LBAoE, thus it ignores AoE caps. A nuke that ignores AoE caps > All.

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol you call blizzard a nuke. takes like 20 secs before it kills everything. in that time someone could kill you and the blizzard would be gone. Personally i think it sucks for blasters, don't know if its good for corruptors. Scourge thing is nice though.

[/ QUOTE ]And have you ever used it after I7? With damage buffs affecting you?
  25. [ QUOTE ]

-Don't need all the travel powers! And TP should have 3 range 2 End Rdx

[/ QUOTE ]With 3 range, it doesn't need EndRdx
