He's talking about the Bruiser getting Foot Stomp (9th tier in Super Strength) with the second upgrade (9th tier in Thugs).
[/ QUOTE ]More sweet AoE damage -

ARRR! Don't imobilizes prevent KB? I thought that was so when I played a controller and stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]Immobilize and -knockback are two seperate effects. While many immobilizes do -knockback, some do not. -

BTW, do you have or ever have had a Granite Brute or Tank so we know where your experiance is coming from on this subject.
[/ QUOTE ]I have L40 tank and L27 brute, although neither are stone armor. I have however teamed with loads of stone tanks (Including some of the first ones to hit L50 in the EU), and some stone brutes. I did also try a L40 elec/stone brute for a while during the RV test event.
[/ QUOTE ]
So not much actual experiance of playing them then, an instant lvl 40 would not give you the feel of them growing over time, so you really have no experiance par se to base your judgements on, whilst many of us who are replying to this play them, mines up to lvl 45 now on the brute, only 13 on the tank, and I also have a lvl 29 EM/EA brute and have player others, but the highest is only lvl 16 on them, so not to much experiance on them, so I know the way they play to another brute or tank, as I have other tanks as well, still not to high, but one with each armour nontheless.
Full knowledge is gained from experiance of playing something properly, I would never tell someone that a dominator set or corruptor set was gimped without first trying it out properly for example, by the same token I woul;d probably not even use the word gimped, rather, it didn't really work for me, but I know it worked for the one I saw in action in my last team.
You on the otherhand, and I hope there's nothing against the rules for stating this, seem to have set ideas about what is gimped and whats not.
[/ QUOTE ]I used the word gimp maybe a bit too harshly, It was meant as a semi-joke. I agree that stone armor is a decent set, and that granite can be good, but I also say that there are very few situations in which a granite will do the primary job of the brute AT better than some other secondary, and many in which it will do worse. -

I might be wrong, but if that's true then it means your blapper example won't work. They would come out of the phase just as ready to attack you as they were when you applied it (being phased/intangible doesn't drop toggles - I can confirm that from personal experience).
[/ QUOTE ]However, you can apply DN on them, and it will work when they come out of phase. Same will happen with tar patch, but I doubt any semi-decent player will stay on the TP when phased, and it will not debuff their movement before the intangibility effect drops. -

Thanks for the tips mate, but yeah i aint in or the damage and i just want this toon for base raids, and maybe the odd stalker huntingso could archery match upto an SR scrapper?
[/ QUOTE ]With one or two acc slots, TD and tactics, shouldn't be hard. -

So Invincibilty works just like chilling embrace in the Rage crash.
[/ QUOTE ]I find that very odd....That would mean that the 'Not Affecting Self' part of rage crash was coded differently from other not affecting self powers, since they don't allow any effects to other entities.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you misread me. Or I'm misreading you.
[/ QUOTE ]Sorry, it was early. I actually read you wrote: "So invincibility works, just like chilling embrace, in the rage crash." I was myself under the impression it wouldn't work, and it appers that was indeed correct -

A thing about /inv which many dont know: the set is actually very much def based with a truck load of S/L def. When you get your +DEF powers trislot them with def ASAP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm... You sure?
Resist Physical Damage = Resistance
Temp invulnerability = Resistance
Unyielding = Resistance boost AND Defence reduction
Resist Elements = Resistance
Resist Energies = Resistance
Unstoppable = Resistance
Invinciblity = Defense
Tough Hide = Defense
Looking at it like that I'd say it's far more RES based than DEF based, although I could be wrong, but from my time with the set I don't think I am.
[/ QUOTE ]See, you're just looking at the amount of powers. However, invincibility provides far bigger survivability boost than the passive resistance powers put together. -

can I play?
[/ QUOTE ]Well, if you can hit the buttons, you can play better than stasis anyways -
[ QUOTE ]
btw it buffs acuracy and defense for up to 8 enemies.
[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure it's either 10 or 14, I've never seen 8 quoted anywhere before. -
I'm not going to start another TF at 8 PM BST anytime soon
-
I wouldn't totally skip ACC in powers for PvP build, from what I've seen TD and the inheret accuracy don't quite cut it against def-based foes, and tactics isn't that high buff for a blaster.

You need to watch a Spines/Regen get held by an MI and all her illusionist pets to truely apreciate the change in mez protection. It always made me laugh at least.
[/ QUOTE ]It didn't make me laugh, at all :/ -
You can. There are certain modifications available online that change the files of the spine gfx, meaning that all spines in the game will look different. Linking to those is not allowed on these boards however.

The only thing I've noticed from different ranked spirits is that they look cool and they have more hp. Think they have same attacks though.
[/ QUOTE ]Yup, they all have same attack, however I haven't tested power effectiviness. -

[ QUOTE ]
Anyone who just looks at the negative sides of anything is never going to see the good in anything.
[/ QUOTE ]The good side is that it can absorb amounts of damage that would floor brutes with other secondaries. However, situations where damage like that occurs are extremely rare if you play smart.
[ QUOTE ]
As a brute it works well, fury builds up nicely due to the greater amount of incoming they can recieve, yes with 2 recharges slotted yout back to your standard attack speeds
[/ QUOTE ]Except that they won't be standard recharge speeds, since most brutes slot one or two recharge in their attacks even if they don't have granite.
[ QUOTE ]
So, it's never really slowed my fury generation one bit, go on MaX, try it and you'll see. And btw, no tp on my brute, it is a power I just don't like the end cost for the distance is to high really, tryed it once and hated it, personal taste really on travel powers. I will try it again, but like Dark Regeneration in the Dark Armour set I think the end cost is toooo High.
[/ QUOTE ]Possibly not fury generation, due to the aspect of incoming damage. However, the movement limitations (Especially if you don't take TP) slow you down so much that it takes longer to move from mob to mob, therefore reducing the damage you can dish out. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but with Kinetics, all the problems of Granite are solved
[/ QUOTE ]-Jump?
Also, you can as well say that if you get a sonic/thermal, another secondary will provide as much, or more, than granite. -
[ QUOTE ]
It may only be 3 toggles in invulnerability but still it costs alot of endurance. Make sure to carry blues.
[/ QUOTE ]2 normal cost toggles, one low cost toggle. Slotting TI and UY with one EndRdx, and all higher cost attacks with one should make it OK, as long as you don't want to run FA for longer than few seconds at a time. -
Got my archery/dev to 25 now, PvE build atm but fared OK in sirens, and will be respeccing to total PvP build at higher level... It should be very nice for solo PvP, but I'm not an expert on base raids.

Well, it might be something to do with the fact that filth is one of the best stone armor experts on these boards....but hell, what do I know?
[/ QUOTE ]
And I know that, how?
[/ QUOTE ]Well, you might take a look at his posting history.
Also, you might want to note that Coldfront and Warcry aren't updated too often, and have lots of old/false information. -
I thought it was WAI.... I mean, it's conseptually working, as long as you don't touch the ground for long the earth/vines won't catch you...

Healing Aura and Radiant Aura heals more or less the same amount of hp
[/ QUOTE ]I'm quite sure healing aura is more powerful.
