Tank (as in keeping full aggro) without proper support? Definitely not.
Scrank, and keep some of the aggro? Yup. -

on another note, i thought the level of gauntlet wasnt from the end cost, but from the actual damage as i recall Bridger saying something about it..
[/ QUOTE ]Gauntlet isn't based on the damage, but 'threat' is. -

I felt I could hold aggro reasonably well so far (level 6) and it should get easier once Gauntlet starts working and I get some better acc enhancements slotted.
[/ QUOTE ]
No it shouldnt get easier, it does in fact get harder depending on who you come up against as your aura will miss. Gauntlet applies to any attack a tanker will make. The greater the amount of endurance the attack costs the greater the level of gauntlet. High endurance attacks are usually of long recharge and the only decent gauntlets you would have providing they dont miss. Go out turn off your aura and jab, box and brawl something and see how easy it is to keep aggro with that off a blaster, then imagine that when your blazing aura misses because of a tsoo sorceror or a storm shaman or even your out of endurance due to gauntletting so much and having -end effects you cant use anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
so, youre telling me that ET, that costs no endurance.. isnt affected by gauntlet?
[/ QUOTE ]Actually, AFAIK, the only thing endurance has to do with gauntlet is that the chance the attack has to taunt in PvP is affected by it. It shouldn't matter for PvE, but not 100% on that. -
Positional defence and typed defence do not stack, when you are attacked the game looks up the highest defence number for the attack (say, you're attacked by an energy blast, it checks ranged, energy and smashing), and uses that. those powers offer both positional and typed defence so that they will benefit both typed sets, and positional sets (SR, ninjitsu).

Well done - is making a WS/PB too cynical?
[/ QUOTE ]He's had a WS for months

Whirlwind isn't as good as repel because you are rooted.
[/ QUOTE ]No, you are not. -

quick question..if they overlap..do the effects such as +acc and +dmg stack? (i severly doubt it though)
[/ QUOTE ]Yes. -
AFAIK it is getting the reduction in a later patch.

If you have to play 22 levels before a character becomes fun then something is fundementally flawed with the powers.
[/ QUOTE ]Fun? I didn't say that, I just said the survivability increases. You can scrank quite well up to that level, and even tank if you have support. So it can be FUN at low levels, it just won't be able to take too much damage. -

Really?
Then most sonics I know must be just unlucky then as the general concensus seems to be that sonics cant hit for "expletive"..
[/ QUOTE ]General consensus is often wrong
[/ QUOTE ]As are you, and many other people
[/ QUOTE ]I'm never wrong, but reality sometimes is -
A defender superteam without a Dark/ ? Madness I says, Madness!

It's not good for taking damage early on, but gets better post-SO's.
-
Looks pretty solid. I'd propably drop FE for haymaker, FE just aint good enough without fire melee. I'd also consider aid self instead of tough, but don't have numbers at hand for which one would be better survivability boost.
Oh, and you'll want at least 2, myabe 3 recharges in rage to get it perma, AFAIK. -

Hasn't all other sets got a 5% increase in accuracy though?
[/ QUOTE ]Some sets have, but not nearly all of them. -
[ QUOTE ]
And yes, there should be a chance for a Critical on Sleeping foes.
[/ QUOTE ]20% chance to crit on slept and held foes. -

Yeah, Air superiority is a great attack, altho' it's not actually a knockdown power
[/ QUOTE ]
The offical prima guide states that 1 of the effects of air superiority is 100% knockdown. So if it isn't a knockdown power (as well as damaging & suppressing flight) I don't know wot a knockdown power is!
[/ QUOTE ]It's actually more of a slight knockup. -
What, a party and nobody told me?
I might be there, if I remember
Now whether to bring union MaX or boobie-shoulders...
Edit: *re-reads* 8 PM? Thursday night? Can't make it, damn time zoners. -

once you get over the base inaccuracy of sonics its a greatpower.
[/ QUOTE ]That means it's a great power always then, because sonic doesn't HAVE an ACC penaly. -

And there's a lot of psi damage flying around in the 40s (I know, it's the same problem for most shields).
[/ QUOTE ]Psi clockwork, some carnies, some praetorians....Not that much, IMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
What else do you face in that area?
Crey and Nem? And even Crey are thin on the ground
[/ QUOTE ]Malta, lots more praetorians, hydra, rikti, CoT, DE, Knives...
