Yeah, BF's do protect against knockback. That's why you can break out of Telekenisis (which is purely knockback) with them, but it's at a mighty cost of 4 BF's.

Even for an ice tanker lvl 49 is a little bit very late for Taunt with all those AVs running around in the 40ies.
[/ QUOTE ]Oh, I team all the time, and keep full aggro against anything but AV's. And AV's should be easy to keep focused on the tank with the changes, once they fix auras and gauntlet, so no-taunt build is even more viable nowdays. -

Ignite has always been powerful as long as you have some way of keeping your foe in place. If you don't, it's not that useful.

So anyway, a question about agro and taunting etc. I duo my ice/ice tank with a friends fire/fire blaster. I have to maintain agro through the massive AoE damage he pumps out. Is it possible to override a tanks taunt aura (slotted with a couple of taunt durations) by massively outdamaging them? Can they steal agro even through taunt?
[/ QUOTE ]There are two effects, Taunt and 'hate'. Attacking and damage generates hate, and hate is ALWAYS overridden by any existing taunt effects. Thus, it is impossible (When things are working right) to pull aggro from a foe (Not AV/GM) next to a tank (who has their aura on) with damage. To override taunt, you need to apply a taunt effect with twice the duration of the existing taunt. -

EDIT: Oh...just spotted the stuff about tanks agro auras being borked and not taunting properly. I assume this goes for CE? It seems to fit as it was the Lts that i couldn't keep agro from. I shall be annoyed if so because i've taken taunt much earlier than i wanted and had to put off more interesting stuff to much later.

Pre-next patch I'd definitely say Ice, after it it's more even...but would still go with ice, propably.

I'd avoid icicles personally, CE is what you use for herding and the damage of icicles is irrelevant if you team with a blaster.

Personally wouldn't skip hasten, since your survivability will be centered around EA, hibernate, hoarfrost, ice patch and (should you take it) aid self, all of which are clickies.
