Regen? A squishy secondary? I've never heard that one before!
[/ QUOTE ]It's squishy, but if you don't squash it in one hit it'll bounce back up like nothing happened -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm a bit confused as to how having your attacks not slotted for fury will generate fury slower? I was pretty sure its per hit not per damage.
[/ QUOTE ]Per power activation, misses will generate fury just the same as hits. -
[ QUOTE ]
You will have a harder time generating fury in the first place if your attacks aren't slotted for damage
[/ QUOTE ]Care to elaborate?
[ QUOTE ]
Btw: Endurance drains do work towards fury even without any damage at all. In fact /elec's Power Sink used to generate insane amounts of fury when used against players and AVs until they fixed it to generate 'normal' amounts of fury.
[/ QUOTE ]However, AoE's only generate the same amount of fury as ST attacks, not that mutliplied by the amount of targets, so they pretty much suck for fury generation. -
[ QUOTE ]
Isn't that a bit dangerous for a blaster?
[/ QUOTE ]Danger is a secondary concern, what you should focus on is damage
And @ Cyn, I do have RoF in the build, it's just not in the current respec since the char isn't high enough level yet. -
[ QUOTE ]
I always heard that SS/Inv was the most endurance-hungry build for a brute right after Stone/Inv. If thsoe rumours are true, I'd totally go the endurance reduction route.
[/ QUOTE ]/inv isn't nearly as bad on END as /DA. And SS isn't particularily bad either.
As for the slotting, 1 acc, 1 end, 1 rech, then damage later. Or sets, depends on level. -

... and Fire / Ice is an AoE monster with a bag of tricks. Try it!
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, /Ice has so many AoE damage powers...No, waitasec...
[/ QUOTE ]
Obviously I meant Fire/- is the AoE monster and -/Ice the bag of tricks. Works for me.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, My Fire/Fire sure can't dish out a sufficient amount of AoE carnage with just her primary
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends what you consider 'sufficient'
[/ QUOTE ]Enough to kill lots of stuff fast -

The Rage crash can be easily fixed with Hibernate tho.
[/ QUOTE ]Hibernate will do nothing to aggro mobs during rage crash, or at any other time for that matter. -
[ QUOTE ]
Better damage than EM (i know EM has two most damaging attack at its last two power but i am talking in general) and good or fine protection.
[/ QUOTE ]Then, seeing as earth and fire are out of the question, you'll want either /SS or /Axe. /SS has rage, which ups damage output nicely, but the rage crash can be bad if you're fighting when it happens (You can't affect enemies for 10 seconds, thus no aggroing). /Axe has plain old build up, and has more AoE damage (although the AoE's are smaller) than SS.
[ QUOTE ]
I know earth tankers have Mud Pots for taunt. What's ice taunt focused power.
[/ QUOTE ]Chilling embrace and Icicles. CE ticks 4 times as fast as icicles, and does -dam, so it's better IMO. But nothing prevents you from taking both, of course. -
Ah, I knew I was overlooking something.
-
Bah, irradiate is for nubs, EH and Neutron bomb are better damage
...Although I might try to fit irradiate in as a 3rd AoE in a respec. -

"Herding" by which I mean gathering several groups together has got to DIE!
[/ QUOTE ]Depends on team size. It's still awesome solo, or in a duo/trio. -
[ QUOTE ]
Positional defense may occasionally help you against some attacks that are have no damage type
[/ QUOTE ]Like.....what? I can't come up with anything. -
3 dam in shout is a must.
6-slot aid self, take the slots from aid other or something. -
Herding (As in gathering more than 1 spawn) is pretty pointless in large teams due to aggro cap. Grouping the spawn can still be useful, if they're somewhat scattered, and/or there's a good LoS block nearby.
However, in teams of 1-3, herding is still a very nice tactic. -

-Brawl, drop the slot. Power is fun, helps gauntlet bitty but thatÂ’s it.
[/ QUOTE ]Brawl doesn't have gauntlet. -
[ QUOTE ]
Wich power be stated without position? Would asume powers such as calltrop and sortlike, but dont they have a auto-hit thing?
[/ QUOTE ]Those are flagged as AoE. The only player powers I know of that are (or were, not sure if it's been changed) not flagged as any position were those from the mind control set. -

Now does the system do a 1 check only (20% def) or will it check again, asume it hit dispite the 20% SL def, on the NRG defence? In other words, is it even usefull to have the NRG def toggle running against wailers as your SL defence is already taking all the tohit checks (exception on the cone sleep, wich is only nrg, but asume we have mez-resist ey).
[/ QUOTE ]Only 1 check, so layered defence will be useless in that situation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does this mean that typed defense bonuses from IO sets are useless to my ninjitsu stalker? >_> Gah. This is not good.
[/ QUOTE ]Unless you happen to be hit by one of the very few attacks that don't have a position flag, yes. -
[ QUOTE ]
I duo with a Rad/Thermal and I must say it works well. Dont expect too much from your Nuke though.
[/ QUOTE ]Bah, you just don't notice it since you're so fixated with your lightning rod
The nuke does very nice damage, with aim and melt armor it almost kills lieuts. One red insp, aim, MA, neutron bomb and nuke will kill minions and lieuts from the group unless they have high NRG resist.
Oh, and there aren't really any flaws in the combo, except that it isn't that hot solo (Although I did solo a longbow ballista in mid-20's with tray of insps), the killing speed is too slow. -

It said in the description that Energy Torrent did minor damage
[/ QUOTE ]Never trust the in-game descriptions, ever. -

Spines
Disadvantages
1. Slow to mature single target attack chain, the first attack ( Barb Swipe ) is pretty poor, but not as poor as it was.
[/ QUOTE ]It's never been boosted AFAIK, it wasn't affected by the same animation change the first claws power was. -

Typed defence (Smashing, lethal etc.) provides defence against attacks that are marked as that element.
Positional defence (Melee, ranged, AoE) provides defence against attacks that are flagged as that position type.
When you're attacked, the game checks what types of defence affect that attack (For example, if you're attacked with Energy Torrent, smashing, energy and AoE), then checks which of those defence types you have, and uses the highest value. So, if you have 5% energy defence, 10% AoE defence, and 15% smashing defence, you'd have 15% defence against energy torrent.
