Have a /Mace or /Ice Tanker
[/ QUOTE ]Or would have one, if they weren't so gimped -
It's L22 and SO's that makes the real difference, before that your survivability is much lower.
-
Stone/Mace is far more gimped

Personally, I think the question is why do you need Hibernate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Massive uninteruptable +Regen, +Recovery, +Self Intangible and you won't lose aggro if you slot properly?
I'd rather have that than Aid Self to be honest. Especially when the recharge is pretty good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the trick. This build has no taunt power and no taunt enhancers in attacks or chilling embrace. I would strongly suspect that Hibernate would loose aggro quite quickly.
[/ QUOTE ]As long as the group isn't scattered all over the room, I can hib for a few seconds without losing the aggro. And that's usually all that's needed, after that I can just pop aid self. -
[ QUOTE ]
... I've got to ask, and I'll probably regret it, but why do you need Aid Self on an Ice Tank. Especially with Recharge Bonus, Hibernate and Hoarfrost are up so God damn fast.
[/ QUOTE ]Because it's a damn good heal. Hoarfrost does recharge in under two minutes, yes, but aid self recharges (with the final build) in ~8 secs, which is quite a bit better
Even with high def, there are situations where you just keep taking damage (Especially if DE quartz or stacked nemmy vengeance is involved), and at that point, self heals are very handy. Hoarfrost just isn't fast recharging enough, and hibernate isn't always usable. Aid self is a great survivability booster, no matter what way you look at it. -
[ QUOTE ]
You wont loose any heal. with heal/rech, heal/rech/end, heal/rech, heal/rech/end, heal/rech you'll get 38% end, 97% heal 97% rech
[/ QUOTE ]Not +heal, +HP from the numina's set bonus. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Also, I personally like to slot powers like hoarfrost with the heal/recharge, heal/recharge/endurance of both miracle and harmonized healing for the extra 4% recovery instead of what you have now.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is that that way I can't slot the 3% +def (ALL) anywhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeh you can, 2 harmonized, 2 miracle, 1 numina's = 5. In your build you 6-slotted it. That leaves one enhancement for the +3% def all
[/ QUOTE ]Ah, yes, I read that as 3 from both miracle and harmonised for some reason >_>
That could work, although am not sure if the increased +recov is worth swapping for the +HP, especially considering I have EA. -
[ QUOTE ]
I was thinking more of swapping it for one of your battle axe attacks - like swoop for instance. But as you way, it depends very much on who you team with and how big the team.
[/ QUOTE ]All the axe attacks I have are there for a reason, only one I'd like to drop would be gash, and it's the one I can't. -
[ QUOTE ]
BTW, forget the "fast run" if I10 released before Thursday...
[/ QUOTE ]Considering that there was a patch to it as late as last friday, that issues are usually released on tuesdays, and that there's still some stuff in it that needs fixing, I very much doubt it's going live tomorrow or thursday. -
[ QUOTE ]
currently:
beheader and swoop with 4 mako's and 2 pounding slugfest
acc 45%
dam 97%
end discount 66%
rech 40%
3.3% imob, +18,1hp, 3% dambuff, +8% regen
Could be:
Swoop and beheader with 4 crushing impacts and acc/rech/end from mako:
84% acc
96% dam
60% end
81,25% rech
2,2% immob, +13,6 hp, 7% acc, 5% rech.
Especially the extra recharge if you reslot these is very nice, and you'll get a 10% recharge bonus to all your powers.
[/ QUOTE ]I might do that, although I do like the 6% +dam too.
[ QUOTE ]
Then the PBAoE powers.
you 6 slot it with Scirocco's dervish
the return:
acc 73%
dam 95%
end discount 48%
rech 53%
and the full set bonusses of which the 10% regen is nice
with 3 scirocco's, 2 cleaving blows and 1 multistrike the return is:
acc 95%
dam 95%
end 44%
rech 75%
this also has the 10% regen and 1% recovery. Again, the extra recharge here helps imo.
[/ QUOTE ]But I'd lose 9.4% psi and AoE def. I like having at least some protection against things I otherwise wouldn't.
[ QUOTE ]
Also, I personally like to slot powers like hoarfrost with the heal/recharge, heal/recharge/endurance of both miracle and harmonized healing for the extra 4% recovery instead of what you have now.
[/ QUOTE ]The problem is that that way I can't slot the 3% +def (ALL) anywhere.
[ QUOTE ]
I also wouldn't slot the +regeneration into aid other, but that's just personal preference. And generally people slot health with miracle +recovery, numina's +recovery/+regen and numina's heal for even more endurance
[/ QUOTE ]The +regen in aid other is just a filler really, I thought I might as well get some use from it for myself when I happen to use it. As for health, I don't have any extra slots, really.
[ QUOTE ]
Last there's aid self. 6 slotted (5 numina's 1 interrupt) it comes to:
end 47%
heal 97%
interrupt 50%
recharge 47%
With 2 miracles, 2 harmonized healing 2 interrupt it would be one of these 2 depending on slotting:
1) heal 98%, interrupt 99%, recharge 48%
2) end 38%, heal 87%, interrupt 99%, recharge 85%
and again the 4% recovery bonus
[/ QUOTE ]But that doesn't leave room for the +regen/+recov anywhere in the build.
[ QUOTE ]
Ohyeh, since you dont take taunt, at least slot CE with 1 or 2 taunt enhancements instead of the dmg thingie you have in it now
[/ QUOTE ]I will probably change it if I start encoutnering problems with holding aggro with it, but I haven't so far. -
[ QUOTE ]
oh btw. You claimed fireball beat taunt. I see you slotted it with positrons blast. That means you wont have a whole lot of acc in it. In other words, it'll miss a few times where taunt is 100% autohit in pve. I don't believe fireball beats that. Also, the recharge time on fireball is to long to make it a reliable replacement for taunt.
[/ QUOTE ]Theat the end of that post implied a joke
I know taunt is much better for, well, taunting, but I also believe fireball is sufficient enough for my purposes.
[ QUOTE ]
Last I do believe you can get a little bit more out of the IO's. I'm not talking about set bonusses, but about power enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]What power do you feel isn't slotted efficiently? -
[ QUOTE ]
Aid Self is a pretty good power for Ice tanks. Its great on my Ice/Ice tank - but courtesy of Ice Slick I have an even greater chance of firing it off so I dont know exactly how good it would be for Ice/Axe.
[/ QUOTE ]Oh, it's very good, it's easy to fire off with most herds. Definitely a power I'm keeping.
[ QUOTE ]
If its PvE I would suggest thinking about Icicles. I suspect it would have significantly better DPS/DPE Thank Fireball for instance. Also you may want to compare it to Whirling Axe and see what comes up top. Endurance is hardly likely to be an ice tanks concern, so compare DPS from WA and Icicles (and consider Icicles does not require animation time which stops your firing off other attacks).
[/ QUOTE ]The thing with icicles is, the way I'm currently playing, groups don't last for a long time. Therefore burst damage (like fireball for instance) is much more nicer. And I'd rather not take more lethal damage attacks >_> -
It's PvE, atm mainly duoing with an AoE blaster. I'm not crazy enough to try to be the main tank for STF as ice
The tank's L45 atm, and post-gauntlet fix holding AV's without taunt hasn't really been a problem the few times I tried it.
I find Hib quite nice for PvE myself, although I mainly use aid self and hibernate, but it's nice to have a third power as backup when things go bad. And usually I don't need intangibility for more than few seconds, after which something survivability-boosting has recharged (EA or aid self). -
I might as well sign up for them I guess. Cinder-Ella, L35 fire/rad controller.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Remember that if you want a recipe on both runs, then you will need 2 alts above lvl 30. Sign up below!
[/ QUOTE ]Or you can just grab the recipe for the first run, then do the second one, log off for a few hours when you get the reward window, and choose the recipe reward when logging back. -

[ QUOTE ]
Any comments/Suggestions?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah get Taunt
[/ QUOTE ]I'll have fire ball, beats taunt anyday -
[ QUOTE ]
So since then I have been catching up on defence. Now at the 20+ I have a problem invincibility gives no damage aura so I want to take taunt to help out team mates but I feel I need unyeilding first.
[/ QUOTE ]Invincibility is a taunt aura, even though it doesn't deal damage. -
I find that with my tank, the key power for a KD-chain is beheader. Mace lacks the equivalent of that, and thus can't (if I've done my maths right) form a sustainable chain of KB/KU/KD attacks.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Ok quick checkup on BI's, rounded on 2 digs.
First number is Mace, 2nd is Axe
Mace vs Axe
2,78 vs 2,78
4,56 vs 4,56
0,69 vs 5,44 (12sec mag3 stun vs 50% chance KD)
5,44 vs 6,33
3,11 vs 2,78
6,33 vs 7,67
4,47 vs 4,28
Most powers are the same (swoop/jawbreak - aoe/aoe, Tier 8/9) animation, its merely the extra effect that differs.
So yes, minor less damage but compensate alot by having a perma stunner.
[/ QUOTE ]The numbers for the last attack are wrong, the only attack mace does more with is the PBAoE, others are same or less, at least according to NoFuture. Also, while mace does have a stunner, axe can often keep a boss perma-KD'd for a good period of time. And axe at least 40% chance of secondary effect for every attack. -
[ QUOTE ]
Isn't the damage on Mace a bit below that of BA though?
[/ QUOTE ]Last I checked, yes. -
[ QUOTE ]
Toxic Not shown on planner, 31.5
[/ QUOTE ]Toxic defense doesn't exist in the game engine, thus the planner doesn't show it since it'd always be 0. -
[ QUOTE ]
Slotted with an IO presuably.
[/ QUOTE ]There's no negative damage proc for PBAoE's, and the proc damage doesn't give a message like that. -
Having taken my inv tank through L10-20 recently, low level tanking really didn't feel all that hard as long as you had a support char or two.

Admittedly, I'm the kind of scrapper who says "Ready!" and as soon as someone else says it, I'm running in. :-D With luck, the tank'll head towards the same spawn.
[/ QUOTE ]Real scrappers don't stop to say ready
