Btw one advice is don't take mass hypnosis, that power sucks in teams
[/ QUOTE ]It's very useful as a panic button, for setting up containment, and to use before another AoE control to make sure you wont get aggro from the foes you miss. -

brawl, ROFL, i know ur not joking weasel, but sheesh, have u even seen the melee attack damage of blasters?
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair enough Plight, but I can land a brawl hit WHILST my Power Thrust has thrown them 30 yards away.
Still stick by brawl; it's cheap and effective.
[/ QUOTE ]
and its a free toggle dropper that works wonders in pvp if u acc it up
[/ QUOTE ]Most blaster melees have much higher toggle drop than brawl though... not to mention the insane damage. -
AR has always been a set with half the powers bad, the really useful ones are burst, slug, sniper, flamethrower and full auto, and maybe ignite and beanbag depending on your playstyle.

*To Developers* Why can't we add -Dmg Resist enhances to our powers?
/em ThrowsToysOutOfPram
[/ QUOTE ]It's the way they coded the damage and resistance, and enhancements, it would require major reworking of the code to get us those... which is a shame -

It's a old description, there's no penalty anymore when Mutation ends.
[/ QUOTE ]Since when? It still gives you damage debuff animation when it ends... -

unless for some reason I'm playing one handed

Problem 2 , i find anyway is the animation time for CM is not to quick and in the middle of a big battle having to CM someone can lead to someone dying by not being able to AP or cast heal quick enough.
[/ QUOTE ]have you tried it recently? they reduced the animation a while back. -

Great blapping powersets! The energy secondary is fantastic, if you want to blap it is probably the most efficient at the task
[/ QUOTE ]Pfft, elec owns NRG 10-0 when it comes to blapping power. -
[ QUOTE ]
First of all I am lvl 40 already and doing my respec so I don't have to worry about what powers I take before lvl 24 etc.
[/ QUOTE ]Are you telling me that you're never going to exemplar down? Even if they add new TF's/trials below L24? -
Do you really want tough hide? IMO, resist energies, or even elements, would be much more useful.
-
With my fire/inv brute I can currently keep a single-target attack chain with scorch, AS, cremate and incinerate, all fast attacks with one medium- and one high-damage one. However, some sets, such as DM, cant really do that, as the high-damage attacks have long-ish animations, so they need a chain of short attacks to buld fury.

on top of this, i dont think killing all the spectrals is the solution. Caleb being a GM giving a badge, only 3 (actually 4, every team that does 25%+ damage to him) gets the badge, and clearin the whole of thorn isle is impossible with just 24 ppl, as they respawn at a crazy rate. its probably got more to do with the lvl 43 behemoth minion that spawns, the possed scientists, and the summoning altars. but thats just what im thinking
[/ QUOTE ]It's been said few times by GM's and cuppa that it takes much skill/coordination/planning to defeat all the spectral daemons to make the GM spawn, so it's definitely got to do with those.
Also, it could take more than 24 people to spawn, they could've coded it like lusca and hamy so that everyone who deals damage gets a reward. -
[ QUOTE ]
then they fixed novas so you couldnt use RA to get that first bit of end back which you need to consume em all
[/ QUOTE ]That's what you use CaB's for -

i'm telling you that if a tank refused to tank an av without fortitude incase they'd die; i would laugh my [censored] off at them. any well slotted empath, after ED, can still nearly full heal most tanks with AB (which is what this thread is about after all). and thats not even counting hitting build up to give em that extra kick. the problem is with squishies getting one shotted. blasters have a higher death rate than any other AT ffs and they are the main offensive brunt in AV slaying imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sorry when did u last play this game? was it pre i5? i don't mean to pick at things but with my tank i used to be able to stand toe to toe with an av and be fine, now i have to have a dedicated good empath or very good controller or the av will kill me in 2 attacks, this is without even mentioning babbage and clock work king.....
[/ QUOTE ]Those 2 hit will kill you just the same whether forted or not... -
[ QUOTE ]
It's an empaths worst nightmare. All the time it's;
Heal the group
Heal the blapper
Heal the group
Heal the blapper
Heal the group
Rez the blapper
[/ QUOTE ]If you slot your buffs right, it's:
Fort the Blapper
AB the Blapper
CM the Blapper
Watch the Blapper solo the AV

and it's also the potential build for getting your name engraved on a gold-plaque in all the hospitals around Paragon City
[/ QUOTE ]I've done that with nearly all of my chars -
[ QUOTE ]
Go to Menu. Then Options. Then Control tab. The default TURN SPEED is set to 300%, stick it up to about 500%. It's an added boost of speed and can be essential when in the middle of a mob trying to blap away, trust me, it feels good.
[/ QUOTE ]Heh, some people actually keep it at 300? I turn it to 800% as soon as I make a new char -
[ QUOTE ]
Okay, I know I'm going to look stupid, but what the hell is a "blapper"? I'm guessing it's the [censored] love child of a Blaster and a Scrapper.
[/ QUOTE ]It's the hero build with the greatest damage potential, a blaster that utilizes both his melee and ranged attacks, as the blaster melee attacks are very powerful. -
[ QUOTE ]
3) Tough & Weave give around (10% bonus's?) And since blasters inherently have dreadful defence, it won't really help much, just get a good ol Epic Shield at lvl 44.
[/ QUOTE ]There is no such thing as inheret defence, all AT's with no defensive powers on have the exact same defence and resistance.
However, don't still take tough&weave as the point of blaster is not to take hits, but to kill the enemies before they get any out -
If you want a totally different view of a blaster after fire/, build an ice/elec blapper for the maximum single-target damage output.
-
Also, remember that you're not limited to melee attacks, also take, slot and use your stronger ranged attacks and fill the gaps in your chain with them.

Not having played either since there first few days of launch can't comment on which is better. However recently a team-mate rolled a */archery defender, which was deleted soon after. The problem was that because the primary wasn't trick arrow every time they swapped from secondary to primary and back the bow kept having to be re-drawn which slowed everything down.
As you can't roll archery/trick arrow I'd assume an archery blaster suffers a similar problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I've heard and read, the re-drawing should be purely visual. It has nothing to do with the actual activation time and execution of a power.
[/ QUOTE ]It increases the activation time, which is the reason all weapon sets receive 5% accuracy bonus as a compensation. -
I played an empath for 50 levels, that was enough nursing a team for me
