  1. The level cap is currently 40, and we dont know much about the additional powers that will come when the cap is raised, So I'd suggest planning a build only up to L40.
  2. But it lacks a secondary effect that's constant to all the powers in the set, and it does no debuff.

    I'd definitely reccomend leaping.

    Not only do you have mez protection with combat jumping - and further protection with the acrobatics power - but leaping halfway across a map certainly makes it feel as if you've got a set of powerful legs on you.

    I'd strongly recommend flight as it gives you Air Superiority, which is exellent filler attack for a brute. Of SS and SJ I'd take SS because of hasten, and try to fit hover/CJ at some point for vertical movement.

    [/ QUOTE ]But it's still propotionally the same, and in this case N=5*E (12,5 BI vs 2,5 BI), which is a big difference in DPS no matter what the numbers.

    [/ QUOTE ]The damage cap is persentage of the base damage of the power, not some set number. With the same amount of enhancements in nova and explosive blasts, and the same amount of buffs, nova is just as damaging in comparison to explosive blast than it was prior to ED.

    Defenders are not soloers.

    Now offenders on the other hand...

    Myself I soloed a FF/NRG offender to L35, however this was pre-ED, and the knockback in energy has great synergy with FF, don't think FF/elec makes a decent offender, especially post-ED.

    You've either got "non-bending blob" or "humanoid" in CoX, no other skeletal animations exist AFAIK. I think they fudged humanoid legs to do snakes and Mu, although really they use a modification of the "legs bent while hovering" animation I'd guess.

    Aye, but if it's friendly you can actually run through it.

    [/ QUOTE ]Which means it lacks physical body, but is not intangible in the sense that it would not take damage...

    The intangibility enhancers in it do nothing, and they are pretty much useless in any other power too, especially as they increase magnitude instead of duration.

    Going PvE? Then take my advice: FORGET about taking cobra strike or crippling axe kick. They're basically MAs "status" moves. CS gives high chance to disorient, and CAK give high chance of immob. However, they do really sucky damage, and although the chance of them inflicting status on an enemy is high, it gets comparatively weaker against lts/bosses/EBs/Avs. Anything lt or higher, and it's really not worth the endurance required to use it


    [/ QUOTE ]Cobra strike is very effective for taking an lt out of the fight. The chance of status is very high if not 100%, and does not get lower with enemy rank getting higher AFAIK.
    Also, CAK was changed with I6 and now does higher damage than storm kick, so currently the only powers in MA not worth taking are warrior's challenge and, to a lesser extent, thunder kick.
  16. Life drain is one of the worst powers in the game, seeing you're thermal you have much better heal already...

  18. I'd drop SJ, as even SS+TP is fast and versatile enough to get you anywhetre quick, and flight adds extra maneuverability, SJ isn't that needed. This would also allow you to get QR and ToF, two VERY good powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]First, let's get rid of the term healer, it really has no place in CoH, as unlike other MMO's, debuffs, buffs, and controls work very well here, many times negating the need of a 'healer'.

    Soloing is very much possible, as you only get 2-3 minions per group soloing if you're on the easiest difficulty setting (which you should be until your 30's or so with your first character).

    In teams you survive if you concentrate on one target at a time, not drawing aggro from everything to yourself.

    The 'F' key is bound to follow target by default, cant remember the correct variables for making macros for it atm though.

    also, if you tell us your sets (primary and secondary), we could tell what powers should be taken ASAP, and which ones to avoid.
