  3. The powers in primary and secondary sets come available at certain levels, whether you've taken the powers above them or not.
    I'd suggest downloading Sherk Silver's CoH / CoV Character Builder to plan your build beforehand.
    Irradiate does moderate damage with all the 'ticks' together, rather than per 'tick' It is also one of the best defence debuffs out there.
    The slots should be distributed in the powers you want to enhance, but remember that more than 3 types of same enhancement in one power is a waste, so for example attacks are usually slotted 1/2 ACC, 3 DAM and 1/2 EndRdx/Rech.
    You can later change your powers and slots (but not powersets) with 'respecs', which can be either earned by completing the respec trials, or getting awarded one by devs (so far they've been awarded when major changes to powersets have occurred, or in celebration of something, like the 1st CoH anniversary).
  4. Frozen aura is PBAoE sleep, not hold, which means that the enemies break free as soon as any changes to their HP occur (Being healed or damaged, that is).

    Secondly, is it my imagination, or do trip mines now require you to be fairly close to them in order to be detonated by enemies? If so, I'm pretty certain they never used to - not so long ago I'd lay mines with caltrops, aggravate the mobs with my M30, and run away whilst they were picking themselves up, to return after a short while to find all my mines (and the mobs) gone.

    Not in CoX it isn't.

And IMO, the definition of a villain would be "One who does what he pleases without caring about any rules or restrictions", which doesnt necessarily make one evil, unless one wishes to do evil things.

    Good and evil are actual, tangible concepts within the CoX universe. There are some shades of grey, yes, but saying he isn't evil in CoX just because he's insane doesn't excuse anything.

    I think your moral and ethical compass needs finetuning if you seriously believe that. He's stealing people's wives, husbands, children and loved ones off the street to kill them and harvest their organs to create patchwork zombies. Sorry, yes that is evil, because it is unethical, because the end does not warrant the means.

    I'd have to disagree with that. On the surface, as in most of the comics that inspired it, CoX is 'black and white'. However, you don't have to scratch very deep to find a lot more ambiguity in many of the plots and arcs.

    Really? I honestly can't think of very much depth to the plots in CoH and the contacts I've come across in CoV have been, to say the least, almost pure evil.

    Could you maybe give a couple of examples? Anyone?

    Maestro is only trying to restore his hearing
    Clockwork king is locked inside his own madness, ruling a court of his own creations.

    Those three are all misunderstood, and while their actions can be perceived as 'wrong', their intentions are not 'evil'.

    Then we of course have you stopping DE attacking companies that are either bad polluters, or extensively use animal testing, and of course we shouldn't forget you 'collecting samples' of the hydra men by beating them unconcious...

    On CoV side, there are multiple contacts who would be, using D&D terms, rather classed chotic neutral or even chaotic good, rather than evil.

    For Example, The pirate in sharkshead who has you saving scrapyard's wife, Dr. Percey in CaD who just wants to continue his experiements in the name of science (few others fit here as well, at least the doctor in the new starter contact set), carnie contact in St. M. Who just wants some chaos, Hard Case, who mostly has you saving St. Martial from demon attacks and multiple others I cant remember off the top of my head.

    [/ QUOTE ]The toggle just increases your jump speed and height, you still can control the directions and height just as you can with normal jumping (or actually more as SJ gives you better air control).

    The magnitude of hold on the enemy is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is if his status is 'held' (or any other mez), or not.

    [/ QUOTE ]Claws is getting fixed, although with the fixes they currently have made it would get 30% higher DPS than any other primary (stalkers that is, but most likely same fixes will apply to scrappers), so they're still tuning it before releasing the fixes on live.
  25. Dark is the most powerful MM secondary, no contest.
    Can't say about poison, but dark is so active secondary that I'd suggest getting stamina, especially if you want to blast a bit as well.
