  1. There's the heart of it, really. We actually DO have a way to get 'power armor' available in game. With the armored costume options, folks can get a power armor feel with either Invincibility, Super Reflexes, Energy or Electricity armors. Heck, it may well work with many of the others, it would just take a bit more creativity to explain why your armor is spewing forth the power of the Necroverse (or what-have-you).

And then there's the problem of the appearance of the toggles. Weapon users powers all come from the weapon. Same with Shields. Even the Crab Spiders have the crab pack grafted to their back at all times. In order for the powers in your set to really be 'Power armor' and not another flavor of a pre-existing mitigation set, you would have to make the armor appear when the player activates any of the powers. The only way to do that would be a palate swap. Right now the only ones that have said swap are Stone Armor and the Heroic Epics, and that's at least part of what's keeping them from having power customization.

In other words, anyone who has this set, at least until they costume and animator folks have a LOT of free time on their hands, would all look like at best recolors of each other, if not out right identical.

    EDIT: Typos.

Last time I saw a reference to a dev saying something like that was before I16 hit.
  3. As far as specifics go, I'm really not sure about the taunt aura being that far back in teh build. With where you have it placed, it won't show up until level 28 for Tanks, and level 35 for anyone else. Way too late for it to be at all useful.

Also, really have some doubts about status protection being split up like that. As far as I can tell, only Fire Armor has a set up like that, and even that has the protection folded into the regular resist auras.

Actually...that person was right all along. I got to participate in an RSF last night, and I got pets summoned, and it turns out, they don't help. At all.

The 'extra damage' you refer to, even after Power Boosted Vengeance turned out to be fractions of a Hit Point. And that was if they even hit, was wasn't often.

Actually, the guy running the SF last night suggested having them up for damage resistance, which would work, had my secondary not been Traps. I had to run in to lay all my useful powers down, which meant the pets ran in and, since they're six or seven levels below the Heroes, were only marginally tougher than the buffing Vet pets.

The weird part for me was that apparently these Heroes are the only AV class enemy that didn't get the scatter protection. Every other AV I've faced with a burn-like power would actually stand his ground while in the patch, and these are even con critters, so they're getting the full effect.
  6. Actually, frrom what I can remember of the announcement, I believe the player actually makes a 'final choice' where they want to go when they leave Praetoria. So you can have a Resistance character leave to join the Rogue Isles.

The one time I was on a LRSF run was on my MM and I was told not to bother summoning pets at all. Eventually I volunteered to be Veng bait just so I could contribute SOMETHING to the SF. To this day it's the one badge that I would like to give back. I've never participated in a LRSF run, I was just handed the badge.
  8. Well, here we're venturing into spoiler territory. If you really want to know why that might not work, you can either hit the wiki up, or send me a PM and I'll give you the Cliff Notes version. I will say that it's not that easy to do, though.

No good. The whole thing behind the Destined Ones is that some meta-human currently in the Zig has the power to bring down Statesman. Even the VEATs have to cheat their way onto the list of potentials. Unless there's something major in the canon, there's no possible way someone from another dimension can qualify.

I'll be deeply disappointed if it's what Tyrant and Antimatter call Statesman's dimension. But that's neither here nor there.)
I don't have much to say about the main point of your thread, other than it's a good question and I'll be looking forward to seeing it answered (I hope). However, I do have something on this point.

We supposedly call this 'Primal' Earth because it's supposed to be the first Earth, or at least our first Earth. They can call us Primal Earth, because we are "so primitive and savage" compared to their supposed utopia. At least that's how I see it.
  11. I'm kind of in a holding pattern right now as far as 'other games' go. I still roll in Stillwater (Saint's Row 1&2) I still rock out, (just about every Guitar Hero) and I still hunt the monsters of the burning Hells (Diablo 2). Thing is, aside from D3 there's nothing that really grabs my attention right now.

Oh, and I've been playing some Smackdown vs Raw lately, but that's kind of a surprise as I've recently been replaced as the big Wrestlefan of the house.
  12. Really, right here is the best place to get a Lord Winter run going. Let folks know when and where you want to get together for a run, making sure you're aware of work schedules and the like. Folks usually sign up for stuff like this. Since the event is triggered by player actions, (as far as I'm aware) you can set it for whenever.

There is a self res with WP, though. There's also one in what used to be considered the toughest of the Scrapper sets, Regen. (may still be, haven't kept up with Scrappers that much)

EDIT: As far as the actual suggestion, though the only downside I can see to this is if someone fires off RotP and THEN gets defeated they can't pop back up immediately, and thus will actually face the loss of agro that's usually associated with tank death. This isn't to say that I'm against this, just something that would have to be considered by the player.

It might be a better idea to get some advertising done before Going Rogue comes out though. At the very least as soon as Beta starts. Get some kind of hype going, so that folks outside this game are aware that it's on it's way.

What I find really sad are the folks who have left this game saying "everyone that would play this game already is." how is that possible when there are so many that don't KNOW about this game?

Well, that's true for CoH, but the outdoor maps in CoV are lifted straight from the Island maps. (Or the Paragon City maps in the case of the Mayhems)

On closer inspection, it looks like it could have been failed glue. Either way, it wasn't resealed when I got it.
  18. At this point I'm being called 'Mr Popular' with all the cards, the wreath, ornament and Vyx-Stickers.

I did get River's card in there, as well. Seems like it had been opened at the border.
  19. Well, I hate to do this again so soon after the last long Hiatus, but I just realized that the next two Thursdays are Christmas and New Year's accordingly, and there are no regularly scheduled shows for either day. While this will create yet another gap, I hope it will both allow folsk to send in a few more arcs to build up a queue and give us a chance to finish up the AEntertainment Tonight website.

    Apologies again for the delays.
  20. Hmph. Definitely doing something different next year. Rather irritating to find most of the envelopes for your cards don't come with their own glue.
  21. Tune in tonight at seven for reviews of:

    Mercytown

    The Grim and the Green

    The Long Road Back

    Obsolete

And remember to keep sending in those arcs. Our submission queue has a rapid turnover!

  23. Well, there are some folks here that will slip into character at a moments notice, and we did have some RP runs of Task Forces. I can say that we do put a lot of thought into how our characters think, given the large amount of fiction we have compiled.

I'm not sure if it'll be enough, but I can say that from my own experience you're not likely to get chewed out for being in character, and it's entirely likely that RP can spontaneously happen once one person has established an RP persona in a team.
