Don't forget to add "more mini-events like the giant Octopus, the Ghost Ship and the infamous Paladin."

Bah more speculation and hear-say. Until a red name...
"Oh, that's different. Nevermind" -
Sorry, due to a dropping user base, Issue 2 is cancelled and CoH will terminate all servers in October of 2004.
Sorry for the inconvenience. -

Neither are crash bugs. When you go live, there are inevitably some bugs - nothing is perfect. We need to make our judgment whether an issue holds up release or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
In your judgement, do you think the massive rubberbanding and mapservering should have held up release, or not?
[/ QUOTE ]
No way that the lag you were experiencing could possibly be related to a larger than normal server load due to the release of Issue Three? -
[ QUOTE ]
A bug is something that happened occasionally. Not 2 times in a row.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. Just because a bug is reproducible does not make it not a bug. A bug can happen a 1000 times in a row and still be a bug. It is a known fact that missions that: do not say they are timed, or do not say you will need additional people in the mission text, are BUGS and should be reported. -

<<..yawn..>>
I just bought CoH, like 1 week ago. First week of December in 2004.
Sorry cats, but it was REGULAR version for $30 or DVD version for $35 (with some extras.) Statesman Heroclix thingy is l33t.
WOW! $5. What a hard decision. Duh. [OH! Note to sales/marketing team at NC, very nice pricing. Donald Trump would be pleased. The value added made the extra $5 an easy decision.]
You stupid crack smokers just need to consider that your job at Taco Bell (cheap tasty fast food for you non U.S. folks) is just not financially fulfilling.
I say.. [censored]! If you want powerslide, shell out the $35. It's only $35. How the hell do you afford the $15/month if you cannot afford to shell out $35. Talk about shoe string budget for life.
Oh, it seems every time I put on my VIP badge, some high level character gives me 90000 influence. May be coincidence, but it sure is awfully cool. (It's only happened about 5 times so far.)

What a charming second post.
-edit- Heh, his first one isn't much better.
It's the most wonderful time of the year....... -
Can't wait for Jerry Spriga Island!

Faultline is an awesome zone design wise. But I totally understand why people don't want to go there. It's just too easy to have someone fall down a pit and your group gets split and whiped. However, a good group there could clean up crazy style in the back in the 18-20 levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but Boomtown has the same lvl spawns as Faultline, most likely yet another reason people avoid it. As far as people avoiding Dark Astoria, some people just can't handle a little adversity to their gaming. (DA sux, u kant see!!11) -
Boomtown is my favorite late teen hunting zone. I go there often at that lvl. Faultline I avoid like the plague. NO fun, pre travel power, to fall down those crevasses.
I also imagine that, with the massive proliferation of Super Speeders that many people just don't go there at all. -

Hey everyone, and thanks for the introduction, CuppaJo. It's great to be here - with my very own red name and everything
Just so you all know, I'm going to be handling the English-speaking City of Heroes community in Europe. We're currently hiring Community Coordinators to cover other European languages - if you're interested, click here for details.
So, if you have any questions about CoH Europe, ask away and I'll do my best to answer them...
Cheers,
Bridger

The game player part of me likes this because it's an advantage for me. It means I'll be defeated less often.
The roleplayer part of me asks "How can I use inspirations if I'm slept or stunned or held?" That part is bothered that these new inspirations will be available.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya know, I started to mention this in my own posting until my brain wisely suggested that I look at the current inspirations for precedents. Are there any existing pills that I can pop while I'm under a status effect? It turns out there is. Revives! So the idea of being able to trigger an anti-status inspiration while sleeping or stunned doesn't seem that odd to me when you can pop a pill while *dead*
Still don't like the idea of two anti-status insps. Merge this post-effect ability with Iron Wills, replace one with the other, however you want to look at it, but we don't have enough insp slots to be playing an inspiration arms race.
[/ QUOTE ]
Another thing along the same vein, "using inspriations" is the game mechanic. On the "role playing" side, I do not believe your character is actually "popping a pill". Inspiration comes in many forms. I have often imagined that these "inspirations" are more likely stories, or tid bits of information rather than a small green or purple pill that I swallow to make me feeel better.
ie in game: Player is stunned, pops a new inspiration to get unstunned goes back to the fight.
in character: Mighty Fist gets knocked loopy by a Paragon Protector, in his daze, he realises that he is the only one that can save Paragon City from [insert insidious plot here] and quickly recovers. -

Will melees get the ability to hit a fleeing enemy from behind?
Can "Follow" be made to follow at the player's speed, rather than matching the target?

Wow, just wow. (not WoW :P) -
Martin deserves his own HeroCix for this achievment!!!

Question 2: I keep seeing concerns about the Alpha Strike and I'm curious exactly what this means. Does the term refer to blasters' sniping damage or to the destructive potential of massive AOE powers like Nova, Thunderous Blast, Trip Mine and Inferno?
[/ QUOTE ]
Alpha Strike generally refers to the initial assault or salvo on a mob, generally consisting of 1 cycle of each attack or primarily the big damage ones.
ie: A Blaster sees a mob of 12 Crey Riot Police, she runs up and uses Aim+Build up+Fireball+Firebreath+Fire Sword Circle. The attack sequence here is refered to the "Alpha Stirke" (alpha meaning primary or first). -

Actually, any chance that supergroups will get a higher limit to the number you can have in one? 75 is not a lot when your friends want to have alts in the same group, and I can't imagine having enough in a single SG at the right level to do SG only task force missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the best proposed solution to this was to have the 75 character limit become a 75 account limit. So if I have myself and 7 alts in the SG it only counts as one because the most I could have on is 1.
Currently, if everyone in the SG has 7 alts, the most people that could be online at one time in the SG is 11 (that poor guy with only 5 alts and 10 others). If you change it to use the account as the limiting factor then we could have 75 people on at any given time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, after 20 pages someone had to say what I was gonig to say. I understand the reasons behind the 75 character limit to Super Groups, but also feeel it a bit restrictive.
Is the a reason other than "privacy" that accounts cannot be added to SG rather than Characters? In effect, it will work exactly the same. It is a physical impossability to have two characters from the same account logged on at the same time, therefore no "uber guild" dominating the field, no overly massive battles between huge SG's because they are still limited to the same 75 people online (which I gather is the reason for the 75 member cap). -

Ok, first off, calling the new Battlestar Galactica....errrr, Battlestar Galactica, is like calling that God-awful Starship Troopers movie....errrr Starship Troopers.

OMG you should see the second Starship Troopers movie if you thought the first one was bad...(it was even bad for a "straight to DVD" movie). -

I also heard that a new E-AT was going to be released on 12/25. Aparently, it can walk on water, create infinite amounts of food and if it falls in combat, after three days it self rez's...

I'll see your troll and raise you one. Are you the official troll namer? How about this thread does nothing but perpetuate the same question which no one has an answer to?
First post: Hey do we have to pay 2 subscription fees?
Numerous subsequent posts: Probably not, but it hasn't been decided
Another post: but None of you are Devs
Dev Post: We aren't sure, we would like it to be one fee, but that is out of our hands.
Subsequent Blathering posts: Ok but do we have to pay a subscription fee?
Yea, this adds to the forums. Some people just want THEIR answer not THE answer.
LET IT DIE. THE ANSWER IS THEY DON'T KNOW. -

To try to lay this thread to rest (again), here's what can be currently said.
1. CoH is not required to play CoV. You can buy CoH and play it, buy CoV and play it, or have both.
2. Pricing is something NCSoft will announce. They have not made any announcement yet. Please rest assured, they are very aware of your opinions and concerns.
[/ QUOTE ]
You could lay it to rest in my mind with one simple yes or no answer.
30 a month for cov+coh?
----
Yes I know you "can't" answer that, but until you can this topic wont rest, even if it is locked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not even Lord_Recluse can answer that, it is up to the suits at NCSoft. The best answer you ARE going to get, you have gotten. For that reason alone this should be locked. -
