  1. Man, I've wanted robotic legs like that for a long time. Also the ability to have just one robotic leg.

I was trying to figure out where he was standing but couldn't make much sense of it. It sorta looks like IP, but I just can't tell. I also wish that shot was zoomed out just a bit so we could see if there is a ring around States' feet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, looks sort of like IP to me. You can see the edge of a bridge on the left. I wonder if that's where they're putting his TF. Seems sort of odd that that would be the location.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Might also be the back of Faultline.

Is that a new zone statesman is standing in?

    Statesman?

    "Moral Combat"

    [ QUOTE ]
I "loved" the leap of logic when they said the 9/11 terrorists trained on flight sims so therefore a kid who plays GTA will go around killing cops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about instead, we ask "Why are parents letting a nine year old play a game he isn't old enough to play?"

First it was jazz, then it was movies, then heavy metal, then rap, now it's video games that is ruining our children. I think it is parents that are ruining our children. It's harder to adopt a pet from a shelter than it is to become a parent. That alone should point out the core issues.

I've had a few posts modded, and I've had a few traffic stops. In both cases, I'd broken the rules, gone out of bounds, and I knew it. I didn't curse the guy who caught me doing it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    To extend your analogy:

What if you consistantly saw the same cop at an intersection, and consistantly saw him ignore people running a stop sign but only stopped you? In fact, what if someone ran said stop sign right in front of you, but you made a "rolling stop" and he pulled you over and gave you a ticket? I think you might wind up cursing the guy that pulled you over.

I think this is a better representation of what many of us feel is going on here.

I would welcome that. I got a warning for echoing a playful jab at another poster (using the same exact words he used). I got a warning, he did not.

Inconsistency is the problem, not the moderation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the guy who retaliates is always more likely to get pegged than the guy who starts it. It's a fact of life.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, it's not the moderation that is being complained about. It's the inconsistency with which it is applied. Inconsistent application of rules should NOT be a fact of life. Or at the very least a fact of these forums.

Which is why I went on in my post to talk about what I expect to happen, which is all of us getting the smackdown laid down on us in a very heavy-handed way for at least a few weeks until we can no longer complain about "fairness" because we'll all be given the same amount of wiggle-room...namely none.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not true. Again, that would imply a fair moderation across the board to all parties at all times, but there isn't. It's not "heavy-handed", it can't possibly be because that would mean that there was consistancy in the application of the rules.

What we're saying, and I'm not sure you get the distinction, maybe I haven't been clear, is not that some posters are being treated diffreently than others, we're saying that anything you post at anytime is a crap shoot.

Again, I point to Athyna's example. That post is still up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You do realize that I'm talking about what I THINK will happen in the near future correct? I see your point and I actually agree, and I think it's going to lead us to a (hopefully short) time period in the near future where they're going to say "OK, you want fairness, here it is." and give us all no grey area at all to play in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would welcome that. I got a warning for echoing a playful jab at another poster (using the same exact words he used). I got a warning, he did not.

Inconsistency is the problem, not the moderation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Excellent work Torak. I'll use that in my continuing crusade to educate people that soup != food.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It is, though, unless it's a soup base, like consomme. Then it's like a sauce. Or a soup base.

You can't drink most soups without choking, ergo, food.

Feel free to outline your anti-soup propaganda, though, you antisoupite.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll take it one step further. I was once told that vegetables are what food eats, and fish are fast moving vegetables.

PvP Zone missions and safeguard/police band missions will make this even easier.

    [/ QUOTE ]

PvP Zone and Safeguard/Scanner missions are not the same as story arcs or zone specific missions. Where is the expansion of the greater story for the 40s? It is not there. I have several heroes in the 40's but have to do the same missions over and over with them. we need more content for the higher levels and were led to believe it would come in later issues. Now we get Faultline, which goes opposite to the trend we were seeing. Remember when Croatoa was released? We were told, by CuppaJo I believe, to look at the trend the new zones were following. Faultline goes against this trend.

When Issue Eight drops I will be playing a hero for the first time since CoV was released. By the time I get that hero to the 40s it will be, yet again, the same old story.

Honestly, I dont give a rats [censored] about Vet rewards or arena Kiosks In pocket D. Police bands and safeguards Plus faultlines the only what I consider REAL content. I could make 18 million different costumes but that wont stop me from repeating the same missions over and over again with different powersets. The game needs content not just new costumes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you are getting content. A good amount of it.

Man people need to learn to chill out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Content for a level 15 toon I dont have. And some generic mishes with temp powers. Telling people to chill out doesnt come off very well, this thread raises alot of good points and isnt just another whiners thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have to kinda agree here. We are, yet again, getting another zone in area that has plenty of content and the higher level players are yet again getting back burnered. The level of disappointment that cascaded throughout these forums when Croatoa was announced with it's level range was huge. There was a trend that was being followed (Hollows, Striga, Croatoa) that certainly seems to have been ignored here. And while heroes in the 38 and higher range can certainly do Safeguard and scanner missions, it merely feels like a band aid fix when something useful could have easily be done for those characters in the 40ish range, where varied contact is lacking and has been unchanged since it's release.

Whaaa this $100 bill is wrinkled! Take it back!
  16. What I'm saying is, since we are speaking in the hypothetical, why even suggest or except an inf cost? Why would they feel it needed since they have obviously changed their view on costume changes? They just need to move the Title choices from the trainers to the tailors and be done with it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Anyway I threw a million INF out there because it -is- supposed to be a deterrent.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why have a deterrent in the first place? This was the original scheme behind the costume costs, now they give out free costume tokens when the wind changes direction. My heroes have enough costume tokens to tile a bathroom floor. Why does it really matter?
  18. It is never going to go away. Its like Pop vs Soda.
  19. Let's not forget London, Puffyshirt, and Icarus_Factor.

And Kraken Farming in the Sewer Trail.

And the numerous Hazard zone street hunting teams, particularly the late teens in Boomtown.

How about wide open mission floors (ie no doors inside missions)?

I was simply pointing out it's not the addition of such terms to the vernacular, but rather it's inaccuracy that bothers people.

    [/ QUOTE ]
People call Blizzard a "nuke", but I don't hear anyone jumping on the glaring technical inaccuracy of calling a snowstorm an atomic explosion, since we all know what the word means locally...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Run it up the flagpole, see if anyone salutes.
  21. I believe by "gamer terms" Primrose was referring to the colloquial use of "toon". I was simply pointing out it's not the addition of such terms to the vernacular, but rather it's inaccuracy that bothers people.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Does it make me different from those who freely use gamer terms in game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The crux of the matter isn't "using gamer terms" it is using a term which (in one parties eyes) does not properly represent the object it is referring to.
