I too love the 'connected' concept of this one! Even though they make a full piece when put together, each of them still stands strong enough on their own. Good job Brandon!
-
There'll be as many winners as I have to time to draw in those 12 hours. It's really really hard to put out an exact estimate on how long they'll take as some characters from other games are far more complex than CoX for example. I'll be doing lots of stretching and finger exercises that morning lol!
-
Thank you everyone for the great comments!
The Foo, you're exactly right. Graver will be watercoloring over my pencilwork. I'm really excited to see what the combination is going to look like!
Monkey, you betta stop harassing me girl before I turn your toon into a crazy ferret instead!I promise, Lush IS getting drawn lol! And DJ, we WILL do an art trade before this year is out. We just gotta do it!
Cerebrus, the drawing took much longer than the animation of course, but it was still pretty long. I'd have to guess about 2-3 hours or so. That whole movie is over 1000 frames.
EDIT: Aagggh, I type too slow lol. Graver man, I told ya to keep that on the low between us! Dagnabit, now I can't pass it off as my daughter's. -

*Ahem* Ladies and gentlemen, let me first apologize for the two day delay of the long-awaited site re-launch. What can I say, Im a perfectionist and sometimes I just cant leave well enough alone lol.
As most of you know, were coming up on 1 year of service in a couple of weeks! Who knew that one boring afternoons sketch would blossom into a collection of over 50 fan artworks! For that success, Id like to thank each and everyone one of you for your outstanding support since day one. Your character creations inspire me to push myself more with each request. And Im looking forward to what this next year will bring!
Now without further a do (or however that goes), we are finally ready to release MMOART.com version 2.0!! Features include a new informative About area including my new personal blog/sketchbook, a revised Price List, a Testimonials area, brand new MMOART Gift Certificates, and an amazing new Flash Gallery! Were also joining forces with the talented fine artist, Graver, to offer you a special opportunity to receive Collaborative Watercolor Artwork by him and myself! And were not done yet!
Each week this month, a new MMOART expansion site will launch to offer even more alternative artwork styles and material options! Check out our About area to read more on those upcoming sites. Commission requests are currently still closed, but they will officially re-open on August 17th, our 1 year anniversary date.
To celebrate our upcoming anniversary, we are hosting contests/game events that could win you some FREE artwork! And who doesnt love that? You can read more about our upcoming events here.
If you discover any broken links, typos, or any other overlooked errors, please let either Lush or me know ASAP. And as always feedback is always welcome. Peace! -
Graver, I have seen people try to emulate your style but let me say that nobody is coming close. I simply love your work and can't wait to see this piece completed.
-
Looking pretty good. Reminds me of a piece that TA and I have in the works featuring AOT riding a Dark Pegasus.
-
Just an update! My very first CoH commission piece was a pencil combat scene for Missy K, which is now being upgraded to full color! Here are the inks so far:

Man... Graver I can't tell you how much of a fan I am of your work! I really mean that. It's funny your rough sketchs look just as chaotic as mine do initially lol. Most times I have to really clean it up before the client sees it so they can understand what's really going on. The pose turned out to be very stoic and strong. I love the heroes with wings flying in the background too. Definitely looking forward to watching this progress to the end.

As for MMOART then, my comments still stand - comic book quality on every piece, no exception. Her work is great!

*Ahem* You mean, HIS work lol. -

Oh,and I'm not doing "finished peices" or charging anyone anything anymore. If it's free than noone can complain about anything. right?

It has nothing to do with money. It has everything to do with integrity. Based on your responses I'm not sure you're ever going to grasp that concept. I can tell you this though, by not respecting your craft and resorting to tracing to boost your "parade", then you're really just harming yourself. Alternatively, if tracing is the way you want to represent yourself, then Rob_Liefield may be a more suitable board name.
P.S. When The_PMD gives a crit or advice, it's a good idea to listen! -

OK, here is Mr. Majestic. Your not a superman fan by chance? R U? lol

Hold up. I knew there was something fishy about the disparity of the pieces youve been posting. I sincerely hope you did NOT charge Mr. Majestic for slapping Photoshop filters over Jim Lees artwork. Even if you did it for free, the fact that you even went there at all disgusts me as an artist. I don't like people mutilating my work, let alone take any kind of credit for it, and I'm pretty sure Jim Lee wouldn't either.

I secretly browse these forums on a constant basis but have never had never actually posted on them.
After being really bored, I started looking through my old screenshots and found some to be very cool, and decided that I was going to share them.
I am a big fan of Juggertha and Gillbates.
Keep up the good work.

...Some really great screenies you have there!

Buck, Arch, you guys are
...lol
Jim, I gotcha. -
Thanks Unicorn! I think your piece is going to be even better with both of them

And here I thought that the art hunters in MY thread were voracious... I go off to visit family and they swoop onto GillBates!! Poor Gill...
But then again, at least he's getting paid! Keep hunting him, art hunters!!!
LOL

Ok. I don't know whether to laugh at this or to take offense... either way I know I don't agree. I cant say that I see it as a "poor Gill" situation. Ive always welcomed the players "voracity" as you put it. But I dont perceive their support of any artist as gluttonous at all. To me it is a major part of the fuel that drives MMOART.com and this fan art community as a whole. They have a passion for art, and I have a passion to create it. So the way I see it, we are a perfect match! -
Thanks AzA! Any artist will tell you it really makes you feel good knowing that your art inspires someone else to be creative. Good job on this photo manip
-
Static, I wil be back on board very soon. I want to finish getting my queue down then we can start up where we left off.
The_Deal, thanks! I'm glad you like my art and I look forward to working with you -
You guys make me wish I was part octopus and had 8 arms...lol!
-
Thanks alot guys Im glad you like it! It actually only took about 2 hours I had lunch too
No really the only reason I did it so fast is because it was my own creation. Its more difficult when someone has a specific idea and I have to convey it. The cool part about that is it that is usually presents a unique challenge and allows me to illustrate something I wouldnt have otherwise.
Oh and Rowr im going to send you the original sketch when I ship your piece. -
Thanks Sayterra! I think your advice is great and cooling it down will definitely add to the piece. Ill apply the changes and repost
-
Whoa. Sayterra, first let me say thank you for your input. But you can't just take it upon yourself to make your own changes to my work without my permission. I know how to apply advice or changes to art if I choose to, and I did not request anyone to manipulate my work for me. That piece is already complete and it's for a client, so please DO NOT distort it or change it as it meant for someone else. I've stressed this several times since I first began sharing art. Just because I'm posting a piece and asking for feedback does not mean that it's open for anyone else's use, and I certainly DO NOT want others host it elsewhere than the sites that the parties involved have designated. Any changes made to my works should be done by myself only. So I'd appreciate if you please remove it. Again though, thank you for your response.

Here ya go Rowr! Rowr Quick Pencil
Now back to the mmoart.com queue. I'm cooking up some crazy art and cant wait to share it with you guys! -
The game is called ArchLord by Codemasters. I don't think the Beta is live just yet, but you can sign up for it.
-
Hey Rowr, I love when people respect the artists' postition. I am going to do a quick pencil sketch just for you to ink and post at will
