    MMOArt??

HEY GUYS!!! I haven’t kicked the bucket and have no plans to anytime soon. I have just been dedicated to working down my queue. A few things have changed here at mmoart.com and it does impact a few things that I hold dear, like our response time to e-mail and the updating of my site and remote presences like deviant, myspace, etc. However I’m happy to say this won’t be the case much longer. In the past few months my awesome wife Nakiesha has been working to help take care of things while I was recovering. Her work had been very demanding and kept her from helping out as much as she would like. She is a very necessary asset to mmoart.com as she handles about 90% of e-mail correspondences, scheduling, and regular updates for our main site and our remote presences. On a more personal note I have my daughter Trinity(6), and my son Jomaro II(4) home with me for the summer and while it’s awesome I’m sure you can imagine the time it involves. Daycare is an option but if any of you have children you will know that daycare today is equivalent to a mortgage…lol. That should kind of explain some of the concerns listed above.

However things are changing. Rather than rebuilding my site for our upcoming August anniversary, we have streamlined our site and have pretty much dedicated it to our current clients. We won’t be having a big CC or events this year or reopening our queue as our total focus is on our current workload. We do plan on doing something rather large toward the end of the year but I will keep you posted on that. We have taken down our forums in favor of what we call the G Blog which will give you a behind the scenes look into what’s going on here in the studio and will cut down on the spam we received from our forums. It will also save us time by focusing our updates in one area and giving us the ability to communicate with everyone on an almost daily basis. We are changing our gallery code and layout so our gallery now can exist site wide and take far less time to update. As I said above Nakiesha’s job had been very demanding, but that is no longer the case and she will have a good deal of time dedicated to our business. I’m happy to say we will also be closing the doors to the mmoart daycare as school will be starting in just a few weeks …woohoo!

Something I must say…my clients are AWESOME! You guys have been so supportive, positive, patient and I thank you from the depths of my soul. I mean really some of the e-mails I received over the past few months are just incredible. My dedication to creating some of the best art I can muster for you remains steadfast, and I look forward to completing all of your current commissions as fast as this arm of mine will let me.
  2. Sup everyone! Here is the completed version of Ms.Japan's prize piece for winning 2nd place in our CoX US CC! Junkyard King is coming soon.

    The Dance

Dope concept and an even doper piece! I must say, I really like the descriptions/stories behind the scenes you create. They really add to the 'mood'. Good work as always!
  5. Hey all! I am bumping this thread back up because I have another Paragonian Knight update to share. Part of what we offered the PKs with their commission and what we also plan to offer future groups on MMOARTGuilds.com when it launches, is custom MMOART Group Trading Cards featuring each member! I finished the last of them today, and I'm very pleased with the results. I can't wait to see them outputted. Check them out!

    Paragonian Knight Trading Cards!
  6. Nice piece. I dig Brandon's dynamic style. And the cover was a good idea.
  7. This toon piece was done for Cruse. Kichi is her CoV corruptor and one of the sample pieces I'll be using on MMOARTToons.com. Hope ya like it!

But I see a few more in there ... and well ... I'm curious.
I'm going to guess the guy with the mask is the basic form the boy takes when he becose a super hero. Does it have a name?

Then there is green sound wave and pidgeon boy in the back ... I would love to get those 2's names too if possible. Oh ... and which one is Telly?

(( Sorry if that came out all jumbled but I'm kinda busy but curious ))

All in all ... as I said on your DA page ... I have followed this project from the start, it was one of the most beautiful act of generosity from everyone and this is such a nice piece to cap it off.

    Great work Gill!

    Its a really great piece.
But I have to say it, I really really wish that they didnt have matching costumes as well as the X all over. It simply reeks of teh x-men.
    Still the piece is great.

Everything about this group piece is inspired by existing characters Static's son likes (X-Force Life and the X logo is definitely reminiscent of the X-Men, the red uniforms are similar to The Incredibles, and the concept of a boy turning into all these heroic characters is inspired from Ben10). For a 9... err now 10 yr. old though, I'd say he did a good job overall trying to turn the familiar into a new idea of his own.
  9. This all started a year ago with StaticThunder's original 'Drawing for my son' thread, where he requested illustrations of some characters his son created. I was more than happy to help out with a few along with many of the community artists here. And I was even more thrilled several months later when I was asked to do the full group. As I'm sure most group pieces go, the composition was laid out a few times before I was happy with it. But once that was set, things went pretty smoothly and I'm pleased to now share with you the final version of X-Force Life!

Hey Gill - HERE'S the rough for the piece featuring you and your lovely wife.

Nice! It's cool to see some of my favorite community artists collab and trade like this. Good work all around.

LOL Gill, I have a rough of you and Lush that's been sitting on my table, 95% complete. I'm gonna finish that in the next day or two and post it here.

Yet ANOTHER thing to watch this thread for!

You too?!? I started modelling Gill and Lush in 3D a while back. I have them about halfway done.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Man you guys have a better head start than me lol. I have only concepts for what I want to do for Crimson Storm, Cyberlynx and Battle Angel. I gotta put them down on paper... err, digital pad soon.

I received my hard copy this weekend, and I've decided to share the digital copy with everyone here since I'm happy with it.

Here is the drawing of Devin Flint and his girl Audrey Sweeny, otherwise known as Trinkit.

    Devin and Trinkit from MMOART

This piece, I believe, was done by Nakiesha Kindred.

thanks guys at MMOART for the good work!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry I missed this earlier. The art is by me, but my wife Nakiesha (Lush), handles most of the client correspondence so I can see why you thought that lol. I'm glad you're happy with how this turned out, despite the differing pose descriptions.
  13. Nice! It's cool to see some of my favorite community artists collab and trade like this. Good work all around.
  14. Thanks Grae Knight and the rest of the Paragonian Knights for allowing me to create this group piece for you and for your absolutely phenomenal patience with me during the whole process! A 17 character piece with an environment was a lot more complex to create than the pieces I'm used to doing, but I'm very happy with how it all came out. I hope I captured each of you to your satisfaction.

Now back to the studio to finish up another group piece that I'll be releasing later this week. @Static Thunder
  15. Hey DJ! This is great work! I'm working on two group pieces myself and man I know the composition can get tricky sometimes. All the work you put behind this is definitely worth it though, especially all the facial details.
  16. Hello all! I know you haven't heard or seen much of me since the holidays. As those closest to us know, we've had a few personal family humps to get over since the new year. But all is well with us now, I am still alive and kicking, and back to creating more MMOART as usual. I'm really enjoying working with our colorists, Kieran and Blond, and you can all look forward to more frequent updates now that they're assisting with the workload. So enjoy our latest updates, and it's good to be back!

    Andelas - World of Warcraft
Massacre Melanie - City of Villains
Crystal Owl & Little Unicorn - City of Heroes
King Darcon aka Redemption - Special Request
    Kale Ithil - Guild Wars
Defcon - City of Heroes (Radio FTW Halloween Winner)

Coming VERY soon: X-Force Life (Static's Son) and The Paragonian Knights
  17. You can find all of my MMOART site links in my signature below.
  18. Wow, thanks everyone!! I finally hit the big 30. And I got some artwork too?! Thanks Alex, that is so cool-looking lol! I love it. Lush is about to take me out tonight so I gotta keep this short. I just want to say that you folks really make this place an awesome community to be a part of, and I appreciate the birthday wishes and all the support you've given me since I came here.
  19. It really was a pleasure creating this piece for you all Tatmia. I think this was such a cool idea for a family portrait! When my kids get older and if they get into gaming, I'm sure I'll do a similar piece of us. For those who didn't see it on the site, here it is:

    The Jones Family

Art by me, Colors by Kieran Oats
  20. *Wipes tear away as I right-click and save* Man.. Bayani that is a dope group piece! Thanks so much for including me in it.
  21. It's really nice to see your linework for a change Juggertha. I also like that you seem to have challenged yourself a bit more with the perspective in this piece as well as conveying more emotion. Keep em coming!
  22. Since Veikira (Tim Wasney aka TimW2k6) no longer has his CoX account and can't post here, I'm posting this video for him. Over the past year he has been recording mini-art documentaries that he calls Art Showcases. Each video features Tim talking about a piece of his art, the story behind the character, the concept behind the piece, etc. At the end there's even a slideshow of the artwork as it progresses, complete with soundtrack and everything! I just found about these videos of his when he started posting them on YouTube and shared one of them on our forums. So after our recent collaboration on the Feeding Frenzy - Overbite vs. Capt. Mako piece, he said he'd cover that piece as well and make a new video. I just checked it out and it is absolutely awesome!!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Tim is such a funny guy to watch. I really appreciate all of his kind words and it was great working with him again. He's a very talented artist. So without further ado, check out: Art Showcase - MMOART by TimW2k6!! Be sure to check out all of his other Art Showcase videos as well and if you have a YouTube account drop him a note!

Cool!! is one of those colorists going to possibly be Tim?

Well we'll just have to wait and see about that now won't we?
