How about this? When you want to go get these kills, do a request for other people interested in forming a hunting party for them, XP not an option, then broadcast that you're going to be using let's say the bottom portion of the Hollows, and will be running through the zone quickly arresting CoT mages.

That gives the lowbies time to realize that someone's going to be tearing through that area, and either voice a complaint (like stay away from the riverbed) or move on, rather than waiting for the spawns to pop back up. The group should be done in an hour or so, and then it should be fine for the lowbies to pick up where they left off.

This can be handled with some communication and respect for both groups involved, as long as they know each other is out there.

As long as they keep the content the same for 24 hour bursts, I'll be fine with it. Changing it up, regardless if they are throwing in the next phase or whatnot, would make me feel like I'm missing content, and not getting a shot to do what others are.

Ok, you're not getting it. If the content is here and gone when only part of the people who can play it are available, then it's cheating the other people who want to play.

To make sure that doesn't happen, and I'm assuming (look out) that Cryptic will keep this content up all day and hopefully for 24 hours, then there's nothing to worry about.

If it changes, they some people missed it. But if the typical gamer who is on for 2-3 hours a day every day can't get the content because it was only for 8 hours while they were working, then it's a shame for them.

And please stop with the agressive tone. I'm asking for a discussion if you will, not a dungflinging contest.

That's not the point. It's not like the game came out today. The point is that there is limited time content that is available today, and people will miss out on part of that content due to prior commitment. I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm trying to say that up to this point, there's only been one invasion, and that was on beta. I've been iching to get in on that content since it was expected another would take place. It looks like one is now, and there already have been people saying that the wave is over.

That bothers me, because I'm still at work, and would have missed content of the game. Yes, it's expected that there will be things going on all weekend. But even missing a part of that is something I would feel cheated in. I'm still at work, despite wanting to play, because work is more important. But I LIKE playing the game, and missing out on things does make me upset.

But it's only a game.

First off, why are you so angry against this? Do you feel more empowered by joining the other posters who obviously don't care about what day it is?

Read the whole thread and you'll find out I'm not Jewish. I never made it a personal issue. I find it wrong that people are insensitive to the fact that some people are into their faith, and into the game, and have to choose.

Let's say you're SO wants to get married on the same day that your favorite football team is in the Superbowl. You'd be torn, right? That's all I'm saying, that people are forced into making a choice today, one a social issue, and another something that they find very entertaining. Most rational people will chose the social thing. A bunch of them will be upset over that. They could have made this tomorrow, or Monday. Picking today just happened to be a day that some people find important for other reasons.

They could have waited a day, or better yet waited till Monday. There are "bugs" that they are aware of in the game, and apparently things may not have been as clean in transfer as they would have liked (with all the crashes).

Sure, there are days that are important to everyone, but there are usually a handful of days where you don't do things. To people of Jewish faith, these days are coming up, and this happened to go live on one of them. Sure, they can go on tonight. I guess what I'm trying to say is that while I doubt it was slightly indended, some people are going to be upset because of it, and I empathise with them. I feel bad for the people that play in the Florida panhandle and up into the Gulf, because they have other things to worry about as well.

But if you're reading this, you probably don't care about them either. It's their fault that there's a type 4 hurricane blowing through their neighborhood and had to relocate someplace and possibly lose their homes, right?

I guess it's more important to complain about how hard the respec is.

Oh, and I'm Catholic, and I'm pissed at this as well. If they released it on Christmas, I would be furious. I think it's rather insensitive to some people that they did this, as some people will have to miss out on some content, mainly the invasion, which may drag on for more than a day, but it's still content.

Your perception is the problem. Not the game. If you weren't so hung up on having to fight 40-50 enemies at a time, and instead realize that you could fight 3 and get the same benefit when you won, perhaps you could get around to lowering that blood pressure.

BS and you know it. In the late game you won't find any groups of THREE EVEN LEVEL MINIONS. Once you hit 40 that means one of two zones to hunt in. Crey's folly or Pegrine Island. I challenge you to find a group anywhere near that size and that level. At level 40 when I do find a spawn I'd even attempt to solo there's a boss or even 2 bosses in the same group. and several lui's and you gotta be careful about taking down the lui's because of vengence.

Maybe that's part of the problem. If the sets were scaled back, you would have more available places to hunt, because you aren't looking 4-5 levels higher then you are anymore.

The more I think about this, it's an error int he game that was miscalculated and needs to be fixed, like Smoke Granafde but on a larger scale. The book describes white cons as being about the same, with yellow and orange being a greater challenge to all but heavy hitters, and reds beign extremely hard for people to solo. Purples are supposed to be impossible. Yet everyone in the 40+ game solo's purples.

Scale the game to the original perameters, and let the XP increase for all cons at those levels to accomidate the change. I'm not looking at this as an MMORPG, I'm not looking at it as what is fun, or what is realiztic, I'm looking at what is the perameters of the game. The game has exceeded those boundries, and what it has listed on documentation as perameters for the game.

Change the documentation or charge the game. paper sounds easier, but I'd rather keep the same color coding the whole way throught he game, as long as XP is scaled appropreately.

I think that's the thing, though, if XP remains the same, everyone gets scaled back in their timetable. You spend a month getting a level you could have gotten in a week. Playing with the same powers for a month, running through contacts to get missions and then having to hunt to gain enough XP for levels sounds like a bad idea.

This game should allow for people to do just missions for leveling. Outside hunting is not what everyone wants to do.

As you said earlier, this isn't a complaint, it's more of a thing I'm worried about. You and other tankers have said that the 40+ game is slow moving. Imagine if you're now scaled back in your XP gains in a day? Top that with previous concerns, and people start leaving for WoW or whatever else there is. Matrix online comes out in November. As a business, Cryptic has to hold on to the crowd it has. If 25-50% of the base leaves, they're most likely not coming back, so they have to find a balance.

The first reaction I had when I heard that the 40+ game was busted was that it was originally designed for 40 levels. Maybe scaleing back the primaries and secondaries' availability to those reaches would be appropriate? Pre 50 level, and invuln scrapper could just get 6 slotted unstoppable at 40, which was the peak. This can't be fixed though, because there are too many people who are at those levels, and grandfathering them would be too much of a big deal. We don't have powers to look forward to after 40, just things we didn't pick up because of priorities. That in itself is a letdown. Once you hit 38, and have the ability to get the potentially most powerful thing out of both of your powersets, looking back on the rest is trivial.

One thing I'd suggest here would be an expansion on power pools. A fifth power, available at Sl 41, that would be significant in effect. You would need 3 of the previous powers already to pick it. Travel powers would have a tremendous boost in movement, so they can scale accross maps in seconds, not minutes. Things like that.

Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling.

Love the ideas, but I doubt you guys will have this out till the 3rd update.

Still, the concept works, and will help the tankers who heard massive mobs around them and just go to work. Once again, you guys have made an honest effort to make the game better, and a lot of us appriciate it.
