A true cox veteran is someone that plays the game and not sits in the forum posting 1 word comments to padd their post count.

    Agreed.
  2. If it weren't for the hospital, the shop and the trainer I would not go to The Hollows.

I always found it stupid that those things weren't there in a "gigantic" map without most of the time pre travel power.

And Atlas, if you have to walk, through 3 loading screens(one from Hollows to Atlas, one from Atlast to HOllows, and then the mission door load) not very close. Even with the raptor pack...not close if you ask me.

Sometimes I rather have things being done because it makes things more fun(or less bothersome) then stay with so called pre established rules that hazard zones are not allowed to have such facilities...

    Why CoX Rocks!

You shouldn't be wearing chainmail in bed anyway

    [/ QUOTE ]

But spandex is okay? Never thought you were that kind of girl GG
  4. Like I said a while ago on the SGW forums. CoX is the only game that keeps bringing me back. Once my sub was cancelled because of lack of prepaid cards but after that it never got cancelled. Hitting 24 months now in a few weeks and for me that is longer then any game I've played. I might not always play activily, or don't touch the game for a few weeks but I always get back.

Till now there isn't a game that has the same effect on me and I have tried lots of other MMO's in the past two years and while some I enjoyed immensely the pick up and play of this game is just that great.

I point out that you could easily have said "Changed into an MMO" as to avoid puns. I smell treachury in the form of intended puns!

Sorry for putting up a little decepticon I'll never do it again.

Someone make a Syndicate MMO for heavens sakes

    [/ QUOTE ]
Syndicate was fun, but you can't have your Syndicate MMO until I get either a Battletech, Shadowrun, Warhammer 40K, Paranoia, G1 Transformers, Rifts, or Ghost in the Shell MMO

    [/ QUOTE ]

The ones in bold should be transformed(no pun intended) into an MMO.

    Are you in the UK?

    [/ QUOTE ]
no...i don't think i should....the game is still the same

    [/ QUOTE ]

If the ad is targeted at a British market, then it will only show up to players in Britain, I think.

    [/ QUOTE ]
that would mean that dutch places would never see any RL adds, NCsoft tent to avoid the dutchies for some reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I'm not that interested in a Vin Diesel movie anyway

and ye're about 15 years late too, Syndicate had animated Bullfrog ads running in the cities in 1993

    [/ QUOTE ]

YAY, Syndicate...sorry to go off topic a sec. But that has to be one of my all time favorite games.

If that was ever made into a MMORPG, I'd be in heaven.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Mine too.

I'd kill for a MM with miniguns and trenchcoats in CoV (Thugs just aren't the same, even with Traps and a trenchcoat on my main.... I suppose I could pretend I've Persuadatron-ed em all but its just not the same)

    God...this brings back memories...

Er... weird thing, seeing a new ad for a Microsoft game - "Too Human"?

Surely they're not taking ads for rival products?

    [/ QUOTE ]

How is Too human a rival product? Besides being a game that is. I would get worried if it was an ad for DC Online or Champions Online

But he plays the part of a sex god very well - he's a natural at it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually I always thought he's a very good character actor, he can play the antipathetic git amazingly well, I mean in Jumper I kept rooting for Samuel L. Jackson to brutally murder the villainous Hayden and... what?! wait. what do mean Hayden was the good guy in that movie?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nah, I liked Hayden a lot better in Jumper...although he was still Anakin to me. Especially because those electric stick thingies Samuel used looked remarkably like lightsabers.

Would have loved to see Eminem playing that role instead of Hayden though.

Ah, you like Hayden Panettiere too? Wouldn't call her buff though... more curvalicious.

    Very curvalicious...

I'm still wondering which Hayden GG is talking about...

Go here, here, here and here to be informed

I figured you meant him...but I only saw Star Wars and Jumper with him...can't remember him being particulary buff Then again...I don't look for that

  14. I was thinking about that one poem:

On a bright day in the middle of the night
Two dead boy's came up to fight
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other

    Etc.

I can understand why people on trials find it so restrictive and yes maybe it is a little too restrictive but there are reasons for trials being as restrictive as they are.

In the past, trial rules were alot more relaxed but in the past year or so before the restrictions were put into place, people had been exploiting that and using 'bots' to send advertising mail and even using the tell system to advertise to people that if they pay a certain amount of real money to a particular site they'd trade millions of influence in return and also these trial accounts were powerlevelled to get the influence, which is not only dangerous to the safety of your PlayNC account, its against the EULA rules and regulations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm aware of this. I do not accept however that everyone, new players, should suffer because of a minoritys exploits.

Most stupid of all these restrictions is the inability not to reply tell. After all, what the heck?
You think= an exploiter is gonna stand there waiting for a pm and then say "oh while youre on wanna be powerleveled?"

    It's nonsense.

And second is the inability to join an Sg. Again, what gives? They gonna go on the SG and say "Hi all. hey guess what- you want inf?" Or whatever?

It's rubbish. I run one of the most active SGs on Defiant and have done for years. I have never had anyone come in in that manner.

You want people to sign on the game following a trial?

Give them at least some of the flavour of the game proper.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually if you click on upgrade a box pop ups which says: Make sure you aren't logged in.Pretty hard to miss as you have to press OK to continue.

Of course, have you learned nothing from the forums?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, if you're going to get angry about something, wouldn't making it clear what you were angry about make it more likely that someone might help you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not really... because some Forumites aren't looking for anything logical, like that. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some Forumites just want to watch the thread burn.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay...no more Dark Knight for you lady!
  19. Hmmm, interesting question.

First and foremost, zoning. The Cape mission I don't really mind because of the travel power I already have then.(although even flying that distance gets a bit boring). It makes no sense too. If a contact is in Steel Canyon, give me missions in Steel Canyon...but noooo...continueing on that, stop sending me to talk to people. If I want to learn about Reputation, Warburg, The Hollows, Siren's thingy(yeah...that is how much I am of a pvper) I'll go there myself...or at least make it optional...or make a contact in that zone give me that mission.

Second, make my contacts take stuff from me...most of the time I don't need the enhancements I get from missions, why can't I sell them to the contacts...so you can do some quick enhancement selling, inspi buying and getting a new mission at the same time.

And last but not least: I am for example level 13 and suddenly my contacts says: You need to be level 14 before I can give you more missions. So I grind my way to 14 and then she says: I need you to meet a new contact.

Hurray! New contact. So I run/tp/fly/jump to new contact and what does he say: You need to be at least level 15 before you can do my stuff.

    What the...

[/ QUOTE ]Or maybe people should just discover and be content with the Avenue Q version of internet is for porn.

Also, I think CoH would be even better for movie making if there was lip movement.

Oh, I love that version too. Actually I like it better then the game videos.

  22. When are you going to do something about those stupid mapserver connections! No matter what I do I stay connected, even if I plug out my network cable I still am connected to the mapserver! You have stolen my life!

    PUG Fun!

On story lines I work solo(unless it can't be done solo). For xp and chatter I like to join PuG's. I love the very bad battle cries, the facepalm puns and generally relaxed atmosphere when battling a group of enemies not even knowing what they did.

I always have to think about that conversation between Batman and Superman in the middle of fight on why they are fighting these bad guys and that Superman either thinks they are trying to take over the world or robbed a bank, when I am in a newspaper PuG
