  1. And a Naval Captain is about the same rank as an Army Colonel
  2. Godmode - Infinite Health and Endurance

    IGOTTHEPOWER - All powers available

I would use it just once to toggle every defense toggle in the game on to see how it looks.
  3. I don't think that this will help at all...the game already costs next to nothing to purchase. The subscription rate is also pretty normal and comparable to other MMO's(and not that expensive either) out there and I don't think that the prize tag has anything to do whether or not people will play this game or not.

MGS 3 is a prequel to all Metal Gear games. In which you play as Naked Snake, later known as Big Boss(who happens to look and sound exactly the same as one of his clones Solid Snake). So MGS4 is the real sequel to MGS 2.
  5. I love Sam's idea.

As for kidnapping/rescuing , not a big fan of it either but if there are no other options I'm not going to zone switch to get new missions. The missions are are too short to not really be bothered about that.

SG-1 may have started off with a colonel commanding it simply out of necessity, to ensure the commander had sufficient rank to actually command the people in it.

This refers to the show and not the movie. The movie adds an extra twist to the issue of having a colonel commanding the stargate team: in the movie O'Neill was given the authority to use tactical nuclear weapons. That might have elevated the rank desired for the team commander.
Well they did once mention that they(General Hammond and his bosses) thought that a Major(Carter in this case) wasn't a high enough rank to lead an SG team(forgetting all about Major Kawalski I guess(on the other hand...he did not lead his team very long).

Thanks Yeah, it's definitely top secret.

Don't go off of SG. I think their reasoning for putting a high-ranking military person in charge of a single squad was basically due to the sensitive nature of traveling to different worlds. In real life, a colonel would almost never lead a squad or fire team his or herself - that's a task for an enlisted person, or a Lt. at most.
My main character for now is Lt. Col send on a mission with a small team(Major as XO and two lieutenants) for something highly secret. Would something like this even be feasible in real life?(as much as I want realism in that part my main character is early/mid thirties so his rank do need to be appropiate for his age(assuming he has a normal progression))
  9. Funnily enough I have been researching this a bit while preparing for NaNoWriMo. Don't know about the paperwork though but I think that je_saist is pretty accurate.

My own knowledge about U.S. Ranks comes mostly from Stargate. Where the commissioned ones go something like: 2d Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Lt. Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier General, Major General, Lieutenant General. (Air Force and Army are the same apparently in that, Navy is different, Colonel is the same rank as Captain in the Navy for example.

A Colonel average age is end thirties/begin forties. (from what I read) (probably not important for your purpose, but it was for the main character of the story.

I of course don't know whether the team size of an SG team is normal for a Colonel to lead, as I saw on wikipedia that a Lt. Colonel already commands 100 to 300 soldiers....

Nah, I try to only +REP people. Much more fun to do. If I don't like a post I either ignore it or reply to it but I won't neg rep. And I was kidding too.

I should neg rep you for getting the song from Jungle Book in my head...

Only if I can color the damn doves to fit my outfit. Otherwise, forget it

Dead language. At least with that one you can impress people the most.

    Would you rather have:

    - K.I.T.T. from Knightrider
    - The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard.
    - Defender from VIPER.
  14. As far as I know there is no option to change once you have chosen a vet power for a character.
  15. Happens to me all the time. Depending on my mood I either look again, drop the mission or do it again later. I once almost petitioned it but then I found the lonely mob at the beginning...

I'll be so happy when that feature arrives where the last mobs will be shown on map.

Wolverine's powers. I'm sure I can make some good use with them. Even if it is only the healing ability.

    ----

    - A dog
    - A cat
    - A dragon

Hey, a tvtropes link, just a quick read before getting breakfast...

    I hate you Sam!
  18. Definitely has been the worst week on the forums for me yet. I've been send a couple of times to the board down site(which still says that the boards are upgrading to VBulletin) and a couple of white screens after posting.
  19. I fully agree with the OP. Change those missions to Optional missions.

Oh, and let contacts give their cellphone number sooner.
  20. I don't think that a no spawn area around the trainers is game breaking. I think it could be helpful in cases such as this.

    rep

Now we're at it. Why are some bubbles bright green and some dark green? Neg rep that wasn't enough to fully take the green rep away?
  22. Got hit by a login bug today but besides that I usually use the forums I used on the old forums, so the general discussion, suggestions and comic forum. There is no real reason for me to use this forum. And although at first the forums seemed overwhelming I think that after a while they are much the same as the old forums. Only with more people and more posts to follow. Their are of course topics I don't care about but I soon found topics I do care about like shows I follow and as far as I can tell people are pretty cool(and some are idiots but hey, who am I to judge, for others I might be such an idiot).

    rep

There is a little scale right next to their status. If you click that one you can choose whether you want to approve or disapprove of their post. Even if they have it disabled you can add or deduct rep.

That's all I know about it, apparently it's possible to give some sort of blank rep where no points are added or deducted but I don't know how that works.
