There is practically nothing in the game you can fail now
[/ QUOTE ]
Those of us who are not gaming gods or don't have stupidly expensive builds or don't play one of the powerful combinations of power sets find it quite easy to fail at some things!
The problem with nerfs is that the way this game was designed simply doesn't lend itself to changes of individual power sets. Take the fire/kin controllers for instance, those tw together make an extremely powerful combination but if either was nerfed, it would wreck that set for other combinations.
If you find the game too easy, try it with a different AT. Don't go around assuming that just because YOU find the game easy on invincible, everybody else is in the same boat. Remember there are lots of 'casual' players, if you make the game ridiculously difficult they'll be stuffed. -
[ QUOTE ]
Wait, you *can* hit certain civvies? Thats news to me >.>
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, some of those 'stranded woman' are not stranded at all, as soon as you get close to them they skip away laughing while a bunch of skulls or hellions pour out of the nearest building to ambush you. I assumed the one that died was one of those, honey trap I think they call it and that one certainly died - or was at least unconscious for a while. I was too slow to take a screenshot unfortunately -
[ QUOTE ]
I love some of the litte details in game, like this and the Stranded women in the Hollows
[/ QUOTE ]
They do add a little surprise and a little sparkle to the game. I accidentally 'defeated' one of those stranded woman in Hollows. I didn't see her standing next to some explosives a bunch of trolls were playing with. I blew the whole lot up and then spotted her lying there. I consoled myself with the idea that she was probably a plant anyway... -
There seems to be a lot of randomness in the way these AV's and EB's activate their powers. Look at Hero 1 for instance, sometimes he goes down without a murmur, other times his health gets low and he repeatedly activates his god mode and regenerates all of it in no time at all. After he's done that a few times in a row it gets tedious and annoying.

"45s" is filtered because it could be you typing [censored] in l33t the number of times I've typed in "group of 45s round the corner" or words to those effect and its came out as "group of *%£ round the corner"
[/ QUOTE ]
Little of what you typed there made any sense to me at all. I have no idea what could possibly be meant by 45s -
This would be a good time to drop the 30 second delay in logging out when you are in 'safe' areas. They can no longer claim the game doesn't know when you're in a place like the city hall or inside a vault where it's not possible to be fighting.

it's as if people on the internet purposefully look for things to whine about.
[/ QUOTE ]
One person's whine is another persons legitimate concern. As paying customers we have every right to make our views heard.
And lets face it, putting prices up during a recession isn't the brightest move a company could make. -
[ QUOTE ]
Lets face it everyone knows those sets are better than the rest, but deny it out of fear that they beloved char is getting nerfed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or they're like me and couldn't care less because they don't have one and never will. -
£5 for ONE slot does look a bit ridiculous. I'll just delete something if I need a new slot.

Nip is also used as a racial slur in British English
[/ QUOTE ]
That's news to me but I'll take your word for it... -
[ QUOTE ]
And I always get utterly baffled when the filter "£$^@ at me when I say I'm going to nip out for a smoke.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not particularly baffling. In the USA that's a pretty derogatory term for the Japanese. It is however, a perfectly ordinary word in every day usage in the UK with a perfectly benign meaning so there is absolutely no reason for it to be on the banned list for UK players. The whole idea of a global list is ludicrous. I really wonder how many people leave it turned on since it's so useless. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sometimes it seems ridicilous to what they block...but I think they rather be safe...then sorry afterwards.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's basically an American filter and you know what American lawyers have done to common sense in that country. They could quite easily have a different (more sensible) filter for us in Europe but they won't. I've heard it said that can't - loads of codswallop. They don't want to. Probably due to expense. But saying they can't when the servers even exist on different continents is ridiculous. -
My favourite is the blind invite to a team, accepted because I was bored and looking for something new to do. We completed the leaders mission (first warning bell was that map had already been uncovered, second was that the leader said not one word, third was that every mob on the map was a +2/+3 to all of us except the leader). We cleared the map, completed the mission and the leader promptly quit. Ever had a feeling of being used?
Suppose I briefly found something slightly different to do but as far as I'm concerned, every time I accept a blind invite I'm reminded of why I shouldn't. -
[ QUOTE ]
Sometimes whenever i reply a tell from people, they thank me. Why should people thank for something which is a natural act for a human being? I know there are many people who don't bother to reply but that feels really wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why does it sound wrong? To me it looks like they were simply being polite. -
[ QUOTE ]
The DPS/End on Ignite is absolutely immense. Seriously, vast. Get an Immob'd or fear-immune AV (most of them), and the damage from repeated ignites is just... well... magnificent.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, it was one of my most used powers. Only problem now is that 20 second recharge. Most mobs are off and running unless you are lucky enough to get more holds stacked on them before the thing has recharged so getting ignite on a target more than once is not going to be easy. -
Thanks Shadowe, that was the first thing I tried. Doesn't use those unfortunately. Would have been so easy and made so much sense if it had...
Thanks for that tip Kallandra. I made the mistake of assuming that a userid was a userid known to NCSoft, not an email address. How foolish of me. It sent me a random string of numbers, evidently they set up an account on my behalf using my email address as a userid!
--
Well, I finally got in to the thing and there's my petition all nicely listed with all the information they have asked me for in the email. Seems the GM only read the subject line then fired off an email. I don't mind giving as much information as I can but if I'd known the petition text wouldn't be read I wouldn't have bothered to type it all out.
-
Anybody have a clue how the NC support site works? I raised a petition a while ago and received an email asking me for more information. There's a no-reply address on the email but the link on it takes me to the support site where it says my userid is invalid while trying to create a new one results in it saying my email address is already in use. What userid do they use on that site? I've never been there before so haven't set an account up myself but can't see anyone else using my email address! This is not exactly user friendly.

It simply isn't full of foul mouthed idiots that must work out how to you all the names under the sun while circumventing the chat filter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Though with the filter turned on it looks like the game is full of potty mouths sometimes. It's ridiculously stringent in what it filters. Nothing we can do about that though. -
I always do the outbreak mission for the Isolator badge so it's not related to that.
-
Must just be me then but I don't ever remember having so much trouble with any AT before. Oh well, I'll persevere...probably street hunt till I gain a level then go back to the missions, at least till I get some SO's
-
Am I just being unlucky with my new WS or has the way missions are created by the game engine been changed? Every mission (and I mean every single mission) I have tried to solo has been full of +1 mobs. On the lowest setting (heroic) before SO's this is a major pain in the neck considering that in every map there's two or three void stalkers - also +1. I remember we used to have some missions with +1, some even level and the occasional -1 average for the maps as we levelled. This doesn't seem to be happening on this one and it's really starting to get tough.
-
Yes, I've noticed that. Was wondering what happened to it. It was allocated and appeared in the list of available powers but had to be put into the bar manually. Not a big problem but an unexpected change.
-
The hero's cape mission is like that. All the way to the end of IP. There's no exit or train or even a ferry at that end so you have to go all the way back again for the next bit. The villians cape mission has far less travelling. Also, on the villians side you can call your contact for the missions rather than having to go all the way to Atlas to click on the city rep twice (and again for the aura). Maybe we should have a collection for her, get her a mobile!
-
Biggest problem I have with it is that perfectly innoculous, harmless words are filtered. People think you're swearing at them because the 'filter' says so when that isn't the case at all.
Why, when the game often uses the word in mission descriptions and objectives, are we banned from using a three letter word used since the year dot to describe a deity? The mind boggles. -
I'm getting pretty fed up seeing the word censored in square brackets on the forums and seeing stupid censorship of totally innocuous words in the game. If we have to have a global 'one size fits all but pleases nobody' auto censor, can we at least have the ability to turn it off?
