Hello Everyone! After our Positron last night, I wanted to post a few notes to everyone, and I figured it might get lost over in the Positron thread.

The Chat Channel and Bind/Macro Info

I had several people ask about the chat channel bind last night. For those that do not know, we have a chat channel dedicated to chatting amongst the teams while running the Freedom Horde events. It is called "Freedom TF Chat". It's not to be confused with Freedom TF or Freedom TFs. Our channel at last glance has about 70ish people in it, so if you go to join it, and it's full, you have the wrong channel.

If you have not done so already, you can join the channel by either searching for it using Channel Search in your Tab menu, or by typing in:

/chanjoin Freedom TF Chat

in your chat box. (Correct the syntax if I'm wrong guys!) Please note that once you've joined the channel, you need to add it to your chat box for each toon you have (that you want to see the channel in.). To add it to your chat box, right click on the chat box, and choose "Edit Tab". Make sure that Freedom TF Chat is in the left hand box that appears, and click ok.

So now for the bind that makes the name of your current toon appear in the channel:

/bind KEY beginchat /send "Freedom TF Chat" [$name]

Make sure to substitute whatever key you want to bind it to for "KEY".

You can also make a macro (a click button in your power tray) to do the same thing (This is the what I use):

/macro Chat beginchat /send "Freedom TF Chat" [$name]

This creates a macro button in your power tray called Chat, that will do the same thing.

The List of Automatic Sign Up's

A month or so ago, I started a thread to give people an area to discuss the upcoming TF runs. This was *NOT* an official sign up thread to be automatically included each week. I *DO* have a list of people that I have run with for a while now, that have proven they will be there each week. Those people *are* automatically signed up each week (unless it's a special event like this coming week).

That Official Automatic Sign Up List Includes: Myself, my husband, Mr E-Man, Master Blade/Mateo, Scruffy, Xort, King Sac, Flu-Shots, Paragon, Goldberg, Joe/Alter, and Turg.

So if you are not on that list right there, You are NOT automatically signed up! So that means you NEED TO SIGN UP EACH WEEK! Forget any other list you might have signed up on, that list right there is the "Official" automatic list. If you want on it, and you've proven to be a reliable player, I'll add you. Otherwise please sign up each week! If you cannot get in the forums to sign up, you can sign up by PM'ing me in game @Luna de Nocturne.

Team Sizes and Placing a Limit

So the Freedom Horde is growing in size. It's grown to the size of being a bit too nutty. While we did okay last night, I think that trying to get 5 balanced teams is just a bit hard to do. Plus it takes time to get it all worked out.

So I think I'm going to set a cap of only 3 (maybe 4 for certain events) teams. Anyone past that will have to sign up as alternates, and will get a spot depending on how many people don't show up (which almost always happens). That way we are not spread too thin on key areas such as tanks, debuffs, rezzers and stealthers.

Yeah I'll leave it to you all to do the details, but Team Joe/Alter finished at about 2:50 with 18 deaths from what I remember seeing in the chat channel.

My favorite part of the evening setup, when someone asked "WTH is going on??" My response: "LF AE"

On the lag: That was a HUGE problem in the first mish; I'm wondering if we really did cause a server spike with all of us doing that mish with full/nearly full teams and all the spawnage... It lessened out on the 2nd mish onward somewhat, but that mighta just been us being numb to it with all the blood.

Yeah lag was very bad for the first couple of missions, then it lessened. I *do* believe the large gathering of people might have had something to do with it......I'm not sure what zones it sent you all too, but if we were all sent to the same zones, it might have really been bogging Freedom down. I think we went to Galaxy first on our team.

On a person note, my lag was much better than it's been in weeks! Glad the work on my puter this weekend paid off!

WOW! What a night. Total insanity is about the best way to put it! Thank you to everyone that came out to play, and for being patient, I really appreciate it!

From my list, we had 37 people signed up, of which 4 could not join us. Two of those were iffy's so nothing wrong with that! We also had 2 other people just show up that wanted to join us. So that brings the total of people wanting to run Posi to 35!

As predicted, we had a very large crowd, and I really hope someone got a few pics of it! We also had a lot of gawkers, who were funny, but they made it extra difficult to figure out who was who.

It was almost like the first day of school, everyone checking out how much everyone has changed during summer break. Only in our case, we were a bunch of new toons! I know it took people a while to figure out who was who.

We had 5 teams running with anywhere from 6-8 people per team. From my big list of people, we had 6 Tanks, 9 Defenders, 10 Blasters, 4 Controllers, 4 Scrappers, and 3 Kheldians.

My team was:

Dyanthia: Rad/Rad Defender
Czaja Hendrix: Shield/SS Tank
Kelvin Kin: Kin/Ice Defender
King Sac: Energy/Energy Blaster
Death Dealer: WP/Ax Tank
Siphirus: Archery/MM Blaster
Darken Sparrow: Sonic/Dark Defender

My team finished at 2:45:48 with 20 deaths.

We had 2 50's with us, and one 10. The rest of us were middle to upper end of the TF in level range. I think by the time we finished, even the 10 was a 15.

After hearing how some of the teams struggled, I hate to say it, but my team had a really easy time of it..... We had a couple of times where about half the team wiped, but I don't think we ever had an entire team wipe.

Thanks for joining everyone! Next Monday night is going to be a strange night, so I'm not going to auto sign up but a few people who have already confirmed they are coming. We are going to run the Cavern of Transcendence Trial followed by an ITF. I'm going to cap the CoT trial at 2 or 3 teams ONLY.

Also look for a post from me here shortly in the Freedom forums for some notes to the Freedom Horde about Monday night TF's.

Glad you like that combo Flu! Biggest words of advice I can give you from watching my husband play his:

Get a knockback protection IO whenever you can. Depending on what third tier pools you pick, you might have to get the Blessing of the Zephyr one that slots in your travel power. The other two knockback IO's slot in defense buff or resist damage sets, neither of which you'll get from Fire/MM.

And yes, now I know last night that you didn't have a tank, but when you *do* have a tank, let him get aggro first before you start on the AoE's. Otherwise you will squish like a grape. My husband refused to listen to that advice, and couldn't figure out why he kept dying

Ugh, Seeing your all's recaps this morning, looks like in the confusion I set up a few unbalanced teams. I'm so sorry guys!!!!!

MB: Your team had a tank scheduled, but he didn't show up. I didn't realize that he was your only tank. I could have moved someone else over

Mr E: On paper your team looked lovely with bubbles, an emp, a rad, and a kin. Sorry I didn't realize that you all were all lowbies

Xort: Glad your team worked out, sorry you had someone drop. Didn't realize I put 3 scrappers on your team If I had, I could have mixed your's and MB's teams up a bit.

Alter: Looks like your team did great and I don't think it was too heavy or too short on any thing. At least I got one team right

And that's what global friends are for Anyone that's signed up, that I'm global friends with, I just mark them as being present, even if they are not there yet. I figure I can harrass them into getting their booty over to the contact when it comes time. The people that give me the biggest problems are the ones I'm not global friends with, or who are not in the chat channel. I'm usually a little too busy to send out global tells, so those are the people that if they don't show up, sorry, I'm not hunting them down

With the normal crew we'll have gathering there, and the people who will stop by to see what the heck is going on, it should be a *very* interesting night. I have a feeling we're going to cripple Steel Canyon tonight.

So that being said, while I've worked for a while today making lists for either 4 or 5 teams based on sign ups..... Please be patient tonight Guys. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those nights that it takes me 15-30 minutes to get all the teams out the door.

So if anyone has any last minute changes or additions, let me know on here or in game as soon as ya can.

Ok guys, heads up! I'm working on my lists for tonight, and I'm having a heck of a time working it out. So what I need to know, is I have 3 people who are listed as To Be Announced on their power sets. It would make my life a lot easier if you told me now what you are: Those people are Captain Power, Drogoh, and Archantos.

If you are still undecided, I need a stealther, and I need debuffs.
