Quote:It wasn't last night, but a few nights ago. I forgot which. It's not a problem, just glad I'm not completely crazy :smirk:Last night? I thought you were trying to tell me that the fix already went live and it was supposed to be like that. I was saying there was supposed to be yet another fix for it to allow for increased difficulty, and I was just trying to find out if it went live yet.
Sorry for the miscommunication. I have a lot going on and miss some of the chat at times. -
Quote:That's what I kept telling you all that night in Chat, and you all acted like I didn't know what I was talking about :smirk:Apparently, it was just a temporary fix to prevent -1 from making TFs and/or Mo-TFs too easy. They did this by making the setting not apply to the TF at all, and stay at +0. Unfortunately, this apparently means that even a setting of +4 would result in lvl 50/51 on the ITF. I guess even Mary Macomber doesn't level up to 37 anymore either, so they still have to finish fixing it so the TFs work as designed again. bleh. lol

Thank you to everyone that came out to join us last night!
We ended up running 3 full teams, so we had a great turn out! My team was led by Xort last night so that we wouldn't have any issues with my lowbie running it like we did on the respec :smirk:. We attempted +1 on the difficulty, but apparently that is still broken. Oh well!
My team:
Dyanthia: Rad/Rad Defender
Beauty in a Bubble: Ill/Bubble Controller
Scruffy Muffy: Stone/Something-ish Tank
Motorpsycho Nitemare: Psi/MM Blaster
Kelvin Kin: Kin/Ice Defender
King Sac: Energy/Energy Blaster
Darken Sparrow: Sonic/Dark Defender
Night Panther: DB/WP Scrapper
We finished in 1:32:21 with 22 deaths. We cleared the ambushes in mission 2 and broke Romy in mission 4. Romy however, didn't want much to do with us, because he was too busy going for a hike in the mountains of Cimerora :smirk:.
Scruffy was very generous last night and gifted us a snow beast at the computer console platform, and a giant robot with Romy. Thanks Scruffy!
Next week's TF is the dreaded (in my mind) Abandoned Sewer Trial. I'll put up the sign up's later today. Here's hoping we can get it finished this time on my team <sigh>.
Thanks for joining last night everyone!

Ahhhh, So I'm not completely crazy. I didn't think the difficulty had been fixed yet, but everyone kept telling me it had been. Eh, maybe after double xp weekend they'll put out a fix for it. -

Quote:While it's not an Mo attempt, it's still a badge we already have, so I'll gladly step aside for somebody else who needs it. That, and I expect I might have a rough Wednesday at work this week, so we'll see how it goes.
Sorry you anticipate a rough day at work!

Quote:lol,Why do I suddenly see four girls in mini-skirts and a four-tone color scheme pushing softdrinks while an infinitely repeating song is playing?
Honestly, I have a song lyric stuck in my head.... Something by Lucious Jackson (doing a Debbie Harry tribute song) where they are singing "Fantastic Fabuloso" and that's where the word came from!
But be weary of me, I like to make up words -
Quote:How did you have Speed Boost on a controller is you were 19ish? You don't get access to it until 20. Did you mean Increase Density? It's helpful, but not as spiffy as SBStarted at level 13 last night; he's a 19 now.
Okay, I treated last night as a cool run, and a chance to see if the toon would be effective for TFs... if I were to repeat Posi on him, with SOs, wouldn't those be leveled out of effectiveness?
Thus, the grav/kin toon may not be something to use, for the horde runs. Trying to branch out a bit, and have toons that fit any situation, for any combo, for the future
Edit-> constant rests: no joke. I don't remember taking the knee that many times... ever. Got to where I was watching Paragon and MB; anytime they were together, I rested (if the rest was recharged). Only way I had even a smidgen of blue most of the TF. Popped blues instantly, too. :-S
The SO question is best answered by someone else. I'm always confused about that answer. I *think* they still work, but please don't hold me to that. Wait for someone who understands it better to answer :smirk:
My Grav/Kin, I duo'd w/ one of my husbands tanks. A "mace" tank, so one of the slowest damage dealing tanks known to man. That was the most painful combos ever. Took forever, and I'm still burnt out on my Grav/Kin
So yeah, if you were only 19, no SO's, so that's a huge part of your problem there. Keep at it until you can get to 22 and then see how you feel about the toon!
Edit: And remember that with the new Super Side Kicking, if you exemp for a TF, you still get powers up to 5 above your level. -
-
Quote:At pre-stamina and pre-SO levels, the endurance usage of that set is insane. I remember having to rest after *EVERY* mob!End heavy is an understatement. I *did* have sb; forgoed a second powerpool choices to (I thought) maximize his abilities (recall friend, only out of teleport, sprint, and didn't get either teleport OR health).
My area holds hit most of the time, and, if I had a full bar, actually did fairly well. But, the buffs from Kin didn't buff enough at that level, nor heal enough, to make it worth the offset of the Grav set. Plus, one group basically ran me dry of end; up until the end was dead, the power refresh/etc was good... but, ran me dry.
Hrm. I'm going to have to look at that character long and hard, and go back over my combat logs this weekend.
The kinetic heal is a pretty good one at mid to upper levels, mainly because it's an accuracy based heal, so you get a boost to it versus area of effect heals.
So what level was your toon naturally? On my friend list it was showing you as 17 or 18ish I think.....
If it was too low for SO's, then that's a huge part of your problem right there. -
Quote:You are not freakin' kidding on the endurance usage!! Ugh, My grav/kin has been downright painful. I struggled to get her to 22 for SO's, and now I've been unmotivated to play her anymoreNo, I wouldn't disagree.
My only experience is with Dark Willow: Grav/Psi Dominator & I do love playing around with some of the powers like Wormhole & Lift, but the holds are definitely not up to Ice or Mind standards. They are also a bit end heavy if I remember correctly.I do love the power (Propel maybe?) that lets you toss junk around. It's my favorite! :smirk:
Luckily on Dom's you get the loveliness of Domination mode. That stuff makes any sucky hold worthwhile! Also you can do damage. I've played a lot of Controllers, but I love Doms better for the ability to solo or duo with them and actually be effective! -
Quote:Grav/Kin... And I know you love your grav toons E, but I've got a Grav/Kin as well, and it has been a very painful struggle in the low levels with herNow I am curious...what powersets was Myrdinn playing? Something /Kin I take it...
So maybe I'm biased against the combo
-
Quote:As I kinda mentioned a minute ago Myrdinn, I don't think *you* were doing anything wrong. That's not a great combo. In my experience, it doesn't seem to lock down the foes very well. You can get good damage outta that set, but it's difficult to get a good lockdown with it.Could have been worse.
... I so totally need to figure out what I'm doing wrong with that 'troller. Was using last night as a dry run to see if he'd be any good for the next round; now I'm all paranoid.
(Might stick to a tank or pistoleer blasty!)
If you *really* want to lock them down, go Earth, Fire, Plant or maybe Ice.
Plus at that level, you should not have had Speed Boost, which is a key part of the Kinetic set. Also, make sure you double slot for accuracy in transfusion. Even with the "beginner's luck" increase in Accuracy, it still misses a lot.
*Also* Vahz and CoT ghosts are very resistant to being locked down.
Posi is just a hard hard TF, and it only gets worse the bigger the team. -

Quote:We need to do a vanilla run of this soon E-man! I'd like to do a regular go of it again as well since I've only done it once. <Hint Hint>I really wanted to join y'all but I've never even done this SF before, so I didn't feel right running in an Mo version. Sorry y'all weren't successful.
-
You all bring what you wanna bring. Seriously! Just let me know a name so I know who to look for Monday night
As far as I know, we have 3 rads, and 2 tanks for this. We'll also have someone on each team who knows how to break Romy's tied at the hips friendship with his Nictus.
What I *do* need to know is if Joe or MB plan on doing "Master of" attempts on their teams? I know my team is not doing it, but it's up to you all if you want to or not. Please let me know so I can balance the right people on the team who are also interested.
Thanks! -
If I'm not mistaken, the one time I did this SF, some of the ambushes *did* spawn in the main room, not just from the hallway. They just appeared suddenly beside you.
