So what does that mean, exactly? Number crunchers (a group you've distanced yourself from) don't know tactics (that's a better word for what you're talking about, btw--strategists would pay more attention to builds and team makeup)? Have you soloed multiple AVs? GMs? Can you take out a pylon in under 5 min? Do you know what these feats have in common? A good build (hint: number crunching helps) & good tactics. Guess which is more important?
Let me say it again for you in bold. This is an easy game. You don't need extensive tactics or setups for 95% of the encounters in this game. Unless you don't pay attention to the numbers, blunder into builds you don't completely understand, and then maybe you actually have to be "careful". Most of us who know better will blaze through stuff and only slow down to delete stacks of useless salvage. But, hey, as long as you're having fun, right?
    A) Who said I distanced myself from number crunchers? You? Doesn't make it true. Fact is, people do play different. Sorry if you cannot handle that. I actually look at the numbers as well, but are not quite as obsessed by them. With a question of "why take..." there is more to the answer than number crunching.
B)Never tried a pylon, but yes, I have been taking on multiple AVs and GMs for, oh, I dunno....about 6 years now....changing with all the changes that occurred.
    C) "But hey, as long as your having fun right"...what you mean in mock is the actual reason for the game. Look around you, that is the real world, a game, well, is meant for fun. There are more reasons to play than just the best numbers. I know, a collective gasp from those who think the best numbers build is all that counts! Said jokingly, so please do not get your undies all wadded up.
D)Implying what I say has probably been the biggest reason for your dislike of my comments. You put words in my mouth, then answer what you believe I said, such as "number crunchers do not know tactics", and turn around and call my words idiotic (so since they are your words, you should argue amongst "yourselves"). Devices will not support the numbers, hince, not for number crunchers. However, using proper "tactics" (you are right, better word), will help you overcome that deficite quite easily, and make for a good build that is very playable. You can even kill multiple AVs and a GM or two on your way.

Finally, no, I am not insulted easily. I simply know when someone does not like my answer so they choose to insult me as opposed to discuss the issue. The issue still being, /dev is quite playable, and can be very fun. Numbers may not be better from a number cruncher stand point, but you can very much play and have "fun" (I know, there is that word) with them.
Chill out Davie boy, take a deep breath, get out of the basement for a few minutes, kiss momma on the cheek (no weird stuff man), and come back and have fun!

Dr. Yu worked on his test samples, retrieved from some of the walking junk piles found in Sharkhead. He was asked by a mysterious benefactor, possibly someone in the Family, to do some research on the side for them. He had no problem with that, as long as Lord Recluse's lot did not know about it.
He worked out of his private home, high up in his own apartment building. The building was filled with his body guards and gang members that provided protection for a place to stay. In his "penthouse suite", he was surrounded by his most trustworthy, and best equipped. He was safe. So safe, that he had no fear when he left his window open, to allow a breeze in, and the smell of chemicals out.
"How goes the process," a low voice rang out. The accent, only a hint of Cajun French, filled his ears. He knew who it was, as did his body guards, who barely even acknowledged the person crouched in the window.
"Jerrin, how are you?" Dr Yu smiled as he turned and faced the beautiful creature of the night. He was the ultimate test subject to the good doctor.
"I am fine. It has been a few weeks since we last spoke, and I only wished to know if there was any progress," the vampire stepped into the room. The entire feel of the room changed ever so slightly, and the body guards became uneasy. They were not scared, on the Rogue Islands, for one to survive, one must face many demons. It was just something about the presence of the man, centuries old, that stirred ones blood.
"I have made little progress, I fear," Dr Yu turned his full attention now to the vampire, and away from his current work. "You see, I have never studied blood such as yours, if indeed it can be actually considered your blood. DNA is an impossibility, as you are mixed with so many others. I cannot even fathom how you process the blood."
The body guards eyed Jerrin now, the talk and the feel of the room awakening some inner survival instinct, much in the same way any prey acts around a predator. These men were predators as well, and they would not allow the fear to swell in them for long, before they turned it into violence.
"You men are excused," Dr Yu said, motioning the guards to the door.
"Are you sure doc"? Brice asked, his forehead furrowing. He was the leader, and felt it was his honor at stake if anything ever happened to Dr Yu, as well as his paycheck.
"I am sure, Jerrin would not harm me, and would protect me against any harm from others, I am sure." Dr Yu smiled to Brice, then back to Jerrin, "am I not right?"
Jerrin simply nodded, and lowered his head, eyes closed. He allowed his senses to pick up everything around him, flooding him with information. It took centuries for him to learn to do this without over running his mind.
Brice took this as a sign of submission to the doc, and nodded once, before filing the others out.
Once they were all gone, Dr Yu approached Jerrin.
"I am sorry I have no other information for you," he was sincere.
"You really do not fear me, do you?" Jerrin asked, his dark eyes settling on Dr Yu's.
"You have fed before coming, I can tell." Dr Yu said, reaching out and touching Jerrin's arm with the back of his hand.
"Of course, it would not be wise of me not to. Even now, your blood cries out to me, but I am able to push the desire away."
Dr Yu nodded, as if he understood. He continued to examine the vampire for any other signs that he had changed since last they met. He had not.
"Doctor, am I diseased, am I cursed, or has my body just mutated. You surely have some opinion on this."
Dr Yu shrugged, and fixed his eye glasses as he backed away and looked Jerrin up and down.
"I cannot say. I only know you cannot be considered human, not really. Your body has changed too much, though you still have most human qualities. Cursed? I do not believe in such. Diseased? If so, I cannot find the disease to separate it from whatever else you are. Mutated? Possibly, but it is so massive that surely any living being would have died from it. So, while it seems I have no answers, what I have found out NOT to be true is just as much an answer."
Jerrin nodded, and pondered on it, as Dr Yu turned around to look at his research notes.
"I will keep trying to find more out," the gush of wind tells Dr Yu that any further conversation would be spoken to the breeze behind him.
Dr Yu turned about and looked to where the window remained open, with no sign of Jerrin. The only thing left behind is the uneasy feeling that seems to follow the vampire wherever he goes.

  5. As for PG 13, my understanding is, anything too explicit. Blood, gore, etc is fine, but try and stay from descriptive sexual activities. As was said before, use other means of implying harsh language, without actually using the language. As he went into a rant of foul language... as opposed to the words. I am sure some words are acceptable, as I have used some mild words before (of course the threads were started years ago when we were on another forum).
Being evil, however, does not mean using harsh language, or being violent even, for that matter. It sure can help though!

The gun powder sounded, and the bullet flew. It struck the bark of the tree behind him, spraying him with the chips.
He did not move. He felt the wood puncture his pale skin. He felt the wounds as they bled ever so softly. He felt it heal up, within moments of the wounds creasing his perfect skin.
"You missed, father in law," he called out.
The man shook as he glared into the darkness. While Jerrin could see him clearly, he knew his father in law could only barely see a shadow standing where his property met the swamp. This was Louisiana, the deep south. Land does not end here with pretty beaches, and breath taking cliffs, as in other parts of the states. Nothing so abrupt as that. It fights the Gulf of Mexico every step of the way, holding its own, but knowing, eventually, it would be mastered.
The woods behind Jerrin met with the swampy marshlands, but it was still big enough to have hidden him for some time now.
"You, why did you come back?" Harris Thibeaux was not a man that was scared of much. He maintained his plantation, and his slaves, out here in the wilderness where he grew up. The plantation was one of the bigger ones in South Louisiana, edging a small town called Abby's Ville.
"I came back to see you, father in law," Jerrin said, as he stepped from the canopy of trees that hid his face.
In the moonlight Harris could see the pale skin, and his strange eyes. The older man gasped, despite his attempt at courage. He raised his other pistol and pointed.
"I tell you now, Jerrin Hebert, you stay back or I will place dis 'ere round lead ball in between your eyes." The man had tried hard to lose his Cajun accent, but it usually seemed to show when he was either very angry, or very scared. He just so happened to be both at this particular time.
"You killed my wife, Harris. I came back to see you," Jerrin said, his veins running hot from the fresh blood he drank only moments ago. The young slave boy even now slept, and could possibly be as Jerrin come morning.
"You're a monsta, Jerrin, you turnt her into a monsta." Harris aimed his between Jerrin's eyes, but saw only a blur.
The one shot was taken from him, and Harris found himself in the clutches of the same monster he thought to hunt. He could hear his workers and slaves calling out from the plantation, but they were too far to help him now. A part of him knew that Jerrin was vampire, but a part of him refused to really believe that, as he walked his property in search of his once son in law. He wished now he would have believed.
"I did not turn her, you fool," the cold breath brushed his ear from behind, as he felt steel corded arms wrap him in place. "I was going to walk away, and leave her here to live a good life."
Straining to see behind him, eyes wide in terror, Harris could see blood drop tears spatter his shirt.
"I was as a son to you, Harris. As a son. Your daughter was loyal to you, in every way. I did not choose what was done to me, but I was going to leave in peace, and you killed her, for nothing."
The truth sank in, as the arms tightened around him. He felt his lungs beginning to collapse, as fanged teeth sank into his neck. A sharp pain, then a tremendous pain, as he was tossed down like a sack of grain.
Jerrin watched the man die, his neck torn open. Harris' clutched at his throat, and tried to stop the bleeding to no avail. He was missing most of the right side of his neck, the jugular exposed and damaged. In moments his father in law lay still, eyes still wide in terror. The sounds of the plantation carried down to him, and he knew they were coming. He could see the torches in his peripheral vision now, a vision that was well beyond theirs. They would find their master soon, in a heap of death. Alone. With no answers to who or what killed him.
It was 1861. The vampire, now called Jerrin Bloodlette, remembers it well, as if it were yesterday. What is time to an immortal? His mind wonders there constantly, even as his heart still burns for Karla Thibeaux, the only woman he ever loved.

That is wrong.. Dead wrong..

A simple observation you mention Time Bomb but fail to express to someone new that Time bomb has a 6 minute timer. So if I were new I would come here and by just reading all the great stuff about Device I would believe by your statements that I can pick up both and be dropping both bombs every pull. Which of course is incorrect.

Look I just find that common sense wise that players are going to compare Cloaking device and smoke to super speed and stealth IO. I understand that some have issues with the control factor in a cave and I get it. But trying to bend a bit and not get into some big fight over it, I have to now say lets not make it such a big deal as if your traveling at light speed and just keep crashing into walls. It is nothing like that. I could turn the tables and say its P.I.C.N.I.C. ( Problem In Chair Not In Computer )

If we are going to talk about "Strategy" which I have to concur it does sound silly to use that word in this game. I would consider it Strategy if Device was giving me something another power or Arch Type could not, but sadly it does not. Posters are going to brag about how they can stealth a glowy when another set can just walk in and click it as well again under different circumstances and different variables, but none the less accomplishing the same thing. Further your smoke stealth does not help against high perception mobs. So unless you have some defenses to back that up your glowing clicky idea will not work. Where as the defense cap route it works not only in that instance but many other instances as well.

My simple thoughts are unless you are in some sort of Role play group that you must be a blaster and want a gadget type them for your own reasons or some sort of AR Device only group then I would suggest and express that another AT with Traps is a better route. It offers powers that can be used solo and with teams that are more group centric that can also be of use to you solo. Further a moderate amount of recharge you have the ability to double stack some of these beneficial powers on top of still being able to achieve some sort of defense values which are very, very beneficial to you and your team mates when your on a team.

So with that being said unless you can provide some actual instance in which Device can out perform Traps or do something that 1 power and an IO can achieve I just see no reason to pick up Device in today's game.

NOW, if they made some changes to the other powers to Device that other sets did not have then I can see were someone might want to consider picking up devices.

Further I am not saying that posters in favor of Device didn't not know of its lacking nature. But I feel that some felt so compelled to defend it that they just didn't take the time to say or admit that Device does have some lacking attributes that could need improvement. Which again I did comment on as well as dave_p. Not beating up on Bosstone, but he is a perfect example of coming to defense and not expressing devices down falls until later on in some postings. Though he is not the only one. Seebs on the other hand I think expressed well in his write up the ups and downs of Devices. If you take Device within the context of what Seebs wrote about and mentioned then you have nothing to complain about. If you picked up Devices after reading all of this you have nothing to complain about.

Again not its not pick on Bosstone day, but speaking of his Fire / Device. I see Silverado using his Fire Traps corruptor taking out AVs solo. Yea I understand blaster forum. But we have to be talking about performance and efficiency here and not theme, otherwise all these posting and threads don't mean a thing. Perfect example I have a semi Petless DS ( last pet only ) / Traps MM. Why ? Because I have 16 other lvl 50s and 8 are defense capped and alpha slotted. Its a personal endeavor just to see how it works. It's a RP theme build as well to me. So discussing it beyond he mechanics of it is useless. So today with going Rogue I see no reason why someone who was well informed and understanding of game mechanics would bother with device unless it was a theme reason or was trying to achieve something for the sake of doing it with device.
You completely misunderstood me if you think I was saying any of the things you accredit me of saying.
I never said devices was best. I do not have the numbers to back that up anyway, not being a number cruncher. If you go back and look at what Dave said about my post, then you will see why I replied as I did to HIS idiocy, not to those that have negative reasons. With that said, again, if you look at the original question, why take it, then saying why not take it, or pointing out all the negatives and bashing anyone that points out positives, does not answer the OP's question.
Am I "defending" /devs out of some love of it? No, this is just a game to me. I was simply trying to state that if you do impliment some strategy in the use, then you can have a very workable, and fun experience, with the set.
Problem in chair is thinking you cannot use strategy in this game, and that you can only button mash and use numbers. It is an argument the button mashers have been using since the game came out. How rediculous to think you cannot use corners, place toe bombs strategically, use caltrops properly to keep damage off of you....or even use stealth to accomplish goals instead of run-sacking, never mind enhancement placing. All those things are strategy, as opposed to running in the mob, press button for kill, then run out.
My mention of time bomb is of nothing, if you read my post instead of assuming it's meaning, you will see I do not use time bomb, and said I may have to look into it due to it's damage potential. Trip mines can be used with every set, I do it all the time.
You point out those that quickly come to the defense, yet refuse to acknowledge that some will only point out negatives, which, again, does NOT answer the OP's question. If you look at posts, the OP was asking for exactly what he was given, by his own replies. So stop assuming what I was saying, and stop assuming what the OP wanted. Take his question literal. No deeper darker meaning to "Why take devices as a secondary?".

Just being plain, to a plain guy. No insults intended. Dave intended to insult me with his post, so I replied.

At one time it had a long range, then they knocked it down to melee, I believe, now it has range again, I think 20' is right. Something like that anyway. I was never a huge fan of it, as it seldom works, when used alone, on bosses, which would be my main reasoning for having it.
In PvP it was great against squishies, but not sure how that has been tweeked now.
My only /devs are either AR/ or DP/, both of which have their own ranged stun. I have considered branching out with /dev, however, and trying other sets, which would make taser something I would think more useful. As it stands, I combine it with with my other stuns, and have had some success with it at higher levels on bosses.

I guess my question would be, is it viable if it stands alone now?

You are the only one that is being rediculously simple here. The OP plainly asked "Why take devices as a secondary", you seem to add your own "not" in there, and then choose to answer a question not asked. And my statement that you quoted was the idiotic one? Get real davie boy, and admit you do not like any set you can't just button mash.
What do you know of a "good team"? You think strategy slows teams down? My answer is, you know nothing of a "good team". It actually quickens the pace, because you do not have noobs being res'ed constantly, or teams splitting up because the tank went left and the squishies went right. Specifically "strategy" speaking, of course.

Now go to bed young man, and stay out of the adults conversations.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    On to ACTUAL topic:

Devices, like any other set, could be tweeked. I fear if they did, however, they would do what they are famous for. "Fixing" it, and it being too powerful, so they have to "re Fix" it, making it worse than it originally was. It is quite playable, and is played and apparently liked and defended, by many. Button mashers need not apply, true, but when utilizing the set properly, you can even out perform many of the others in higher level situations.
Solo, it is completely awesome. In PvP, it was THE BEST, before they "fixed" PvP, of course. See point made about fixing.
In teams, if you consider that you can keep the button mashing squishies safe, while delivering damage, and not taking anywhere near the damage they take, it is a well rounded secondary.
One last thing I really like about devices is that you do not blow your wad with one attack. With time bombs (which apparently, looking at the numbers, I need to utilize more), and trip mines, you have a great damage provider while maintaining your endurance. If you like a steady pace, as opposed to "boom" and you are out of there (dead from no endurance or killed everything), then devices performs very well.
The argument of "but it could...." is moot. We could all be given a "god mode" button and never use stratey again, as some may prefer. However, if we are talking the actual game, and the actual subject, and what devices offers as is, and why take it....then there you go.
Some just cannot stick to subject at hand.

Not even close. Actually, if you can't strategize quick enough, you may be right. I am not knocking you, some people are just slower than others, and think button mashing is the quickest route. Cheers to you. Now go mash your button and leave the adult conversation to the adults please.

Original Question: Why take devices as a secondary?
Not Original Question:Why not take devices as a secondary?
Apparently the OP has the answer to the second question, or he would not have asked the original question.

Gehnen has nailed the answer to the original question. There are many reasons to like devices. There are reasons to not like it as well. There is no more reason to change it up than there is for any other. It seems all you have to do is mention a power set and suddenly someone will be ranting about how it is terrible, despite the fact that many play it, and like it. Go take a trip through these forums, and see if I am not correct. For some reason, some think that if you like a set they do not like, then you are "wrong" and they must show you why. Grow up.

If you do not like devices now, chances are, you never will. Unless they change it up and have a device power similar to nova or one of those. Then, why not just play the other power sets you like? The different power sets SHOULD be relevant to different concepts and frames of mind. If they are all the same, with the same pluses and minuses, then what is the point? I do not want my AR/Dev blaster to super nova, thank you.

For those that wish to discuss "Why not take a device blaster", utilize the start new thread button. You will find it if you look for it. I wouldn't mind commenting on that one too.
  14. PLEASE stop asking the devs to "fix" something. If you ever seen them "fix" things, then show some mercy here. I am perfectly happy with devices. I was perfectly happy with one shot killing bosses before they "fixed" blasters. I was perfectly happy with taking stalkers out before they "fixed" PvP. If you do not like a set, please, just do not play it. Not all sets are for everyone.

Been doing this for too long to think that looking soley at the numbers clicked is what makes a good toon. Too often I watch these super sets get angry and storm off because some "noob" with a concept character is actually out performing them with a toon that should not be. It isn't all about the numbers.

You cannot add up the fact that you can duck a corner and drop calts, giving you time to recover, set up a bomb, recharge, etc. How do you number that? I know, it doesn't cause enough damage. NO, I cannot put the numbers up. I can only tell you it plays very well if you take the time and use the set properly.

So I play x8, with bosses, with AV's, and have very little trouble doing it, BUT, I am suppose to fret that somehow my numbers may not match up to others? I have not played another blaster that has the survivability that my AR/Dev blaster does. YES, he is even an AR! Devices is not for number crunchers. It is for strategists. If you think it out, you can do more damage quicker, with far less worry of hosping. It is a much safer toon than most other blaster, for those that like to look the situation over.

With all that said, traps and devices, while similar, are not exactly comparable. It is still a different type of play. I know, I have /traps corruptors as well. I really do like traps, so not knocking it in the least bit, however, the question presented was why take devices.
  15. I find it utterly rediculous to assume because something is not fun to one, it is not fun to others. Some like the numbers, some like the concept, some like a mix of both.

DP is ok if you like min/max. It is great if you like the animation. It is also great if you like the mix of damage/control/debuff possibilities. You can "swap ammo" very fast, which is very advantageous.

I like my DP blaster. I am about to make another, a copy of my Lvl 50 AR/Dev blaster (though with rogue I will prob do corruptor and then go hero), which my intent was always for him to be a DP, it just did not exist when I made him. May not be a number lovers build, and that is okay, but it has it's positives like any other build.

    3. Web Grenade is a pretty hefty -recharge, even when the immobilize doesn't catch. I just toss it twice on bosses to stop them.
    4. The area denial impact of Caltrops is amazing. With a range-capped blaster (I know this isn't the norm), keeping everything out of melee is basically god-mode.
    5. Gun Drone can take some of the aggro that I don't want, and deal a little bit of damage to boot.
    6. Targetting Drone is amazing...forget Build Up. I can constantly hit my target as long as this toggle is running. CoT ghosts, and +1's mean absolutely nothing to me. Burst damage for 10 seconds is very highly overrated when you consider "never" missing. Of course you could just put the Gaussian's proc in this power like I did.
I've never understood why Devices is so unloved, honestly. I imagine it's just under-utilized since it's so unlike other secondaries. I do agree that Time-Bomb is pretty much useless for a good percentage of the population (but to those that make it work...thumbs-up!).

    I've never used Taser
Much better than my own post, you have hit the nail on the head. Time bomb, and taze in large groups (seems everything is immune to it anyway), seems useless.
  17. Drone- You see stealthed foes, add that to leadership tactics, in the upper levels, 40 to 50, you wont be blind when everyone else is. You need very little if any accuracies, though I always put one SO or two DOs in case my toggles drop.

Stealth- Helps very much with solo, and provides decent protection. If slotted right, you can actually avoid a stalkers strike in PvP....just saying.

Caltrops- Even if you dont "like them", they are very advantages, and can turn the tide of battle in a heartbeat. I use them when I see the team in trouble. It helps in healing if you get around a corner and toss them, giving you the chance to catch your breath, turn 3 inspirations into a heal, etc. It also keeps baddies off of squishies when teaming. NEVER toss them at tanks or brutes! They do not like it.

Trip mines- should be slotted for recharge. I toss a smoke bomb (see benefit below) drop a mine, toss a smoke bomb, drop a mine. If you slot it well and take hasten, it will serve you well. Not useful in teams unless you do it as a toe bomb though.

Webnade- OK at low level, not one of my high level choices though. It does slow the enemy even if it does not stop them. However, I play X8 so anything that is single targetted is not one of my top choices. It does play well when I go high level low amount, usually for things I just wish to hurry through.

Smoke Grenade- I see little benefit in it's -to hit, if anyone does see much in that way please let me know. However, with a smoke grenade and stealth, you can walk right up to the enemy and plant mines, etc......making it a mine field they have to go through before they get to you. OR, you can trip a glowie and move on.

Gun Drone- I do not like it, and seems a waste of a power to ME. Others may have better play with it, maybe in teams, but I solo or play on small teams too much to choose it.

I left some out that I never much used, for the most part, and I am doing this off the top of my head...LOL. I really enjoy my AR/Device blaster. He is level 50 now, but when I want to increase wealth, I take him out, dust him off, go x8, and watch the cash flow start.
He was very useful in PvP, and had one of the highest ratings of his time when I did PvP (I only did zone PvP, never knew much about the other). In over all play, no other toon has come close. My wife has fashioned her own AR/Dev after watching mine and all that he can do. It takes a bit more than button mashing, but the pay off, TO ME, far outweighs the time. In fact, I am sure I clear out mobs quicker, in the end. It is just that much of the time is spent setting up to watch them go boom.
  18. Nothing new, just agreeing with the others. Natural or science, and I would probably go natural.
  19. The problem is that too many rp'ers mistake criminaly insane for evil. Hitler did not rise to power because no one could stand to be around him, even though he is characterized now as just a lunatic.
A truly intelligent evil character would not be snickering and making fun of people, they would be calculating, and actually trying to make others feel at ease in their presence. They would boast on others, and become a "friend" as long as it suits their needs.
I have one character that comes to mind, Heru Mortu, who looks very normal, and speaks kindly to most. There is only a hint in his character of any kind of evil intentions, and even then would leave someone to thinking "no, he wouldn't be capable of that". He is a demon, who usually walks about with a very non threatening, business man look.
He is "rogue", for cross over purposes, but that is simply mechanics, not rp. On the rogue isles, he will usually be in his normal demon form, but in Paragon, he is always in his human form.
Of course I am not on Union, I am in the states. I think people do not realize how much fun you can have rp'ing if you and the others around you actually pay attention to the character, and remain true to the character, which is another problem with folks and their rp. Many will flip for this, then flop for that. Of course everyone always has good reasoning for it!

As reported in the past, Minhere Inc has indeed bidded on and won some contracts with Paragon City. This would not be news otherwise, except it has caused a ripple effect within the business community, and many of our smaller businesses are no longer feeling the intimidation of the larger ones. Owner and CEO of the business is seen about the city promoting his technology, and even offering "super hero" assistance to those in need. Never one to shy away from television or newspaper reporters, this paper has managed ask a few brief questions of a man who can be called nothing short of a "rising star", Luke Minhere.

What caused you to get into the business of technology, considering you had a succesful career as a billboard model?
"You must understand this determination of mine, one that puts the city of Paragon at the top of my priorities when it comes to the betterment of life as we know it".
So you do this to better the lives of the people of Paragon?
"Yes and no. As a billboard model I was only able to reach out to a city, as the CEO of Minhere Inc, I am now able to reach out to the world, one city at a time. Starting of course with Paragon".
None of what you said answered my questions Mr Minhere, could you elaborate on why you are interested in cybernetics, nano technology, and the sorts?
"You must listen closer sir, if you are to understand my answers. I have told you the why, now you must find out the who of it all. I do understand that the technology I create and promote is beyond the understanding of most, so I do not hold that against you. In fact, it is often times beyond me how I could even come up with such ideas".
With a most handsome smile, Luke Minhere was whisked away by a crowd of admirers. I must say, I did not recieve much in the way of answers, but standing in his presence and interacting with him has confirmed that his charisma alone could sell plastic sporks as the newest and greatest in technology.

    I Demand...

Saying no to Christmas decor is unacceptable! With all the pagan garbage all over the place, let us have one month for us! Ok, I really just like the pretty lights, but that is no where near as inflamatory.

Minhere Inc has recently announced that it will be bidding for different contracts with the city of Paragon. The CEO, Luke Minhere, has announced that he is not concerned with the bigger companies outbidding him.
"In fact, I welcome the challenge of going against such mega companies as Crey Industries, and the like. You are asking me of my concerns, you should be asking them. With a leaner establishment such as Minhere Inc, we can underbid most companies, unless of course they wish to take a loss, of which I am well prepared to allow them to do."
Minhere Inc offers a new and fresh look at nano technology, and the highly controversial cyborg technology. Their CEO is definitely a face that some may recognize, as he was once a model on some of the billboards throughout Paragon. He seems to be very charismatic, and can dazzle one with his smile. However, one must ask if that will be enough to take on the hard hitting likes of Crey Industry, or any other number of big names in the business of technology around Paragon City. Time will tell.
  23. For RP reasons, none of these questions need be answered right away, as the entire mystery of Praetoria is part of it's draw. The general public would not know exactly what is going on worldwide, especially now that Cole has such control over everything. As was said, if Cole has control of news in and out, it would be few that would have the entire picture at this point of what is happening around the world.
This makes for easy, more specialized rp actually, as long as you imply or point to the fact that it is the character's personal thoughts on this, or what they have learned, or heard via "rumors".
This isn't done accidently. Taking in what you learned so far from the information put out, what your character would actually know, and what your character would actually think, you can base who your character is on small facts, which actually is how we become who we are in real life. Not everything I "knew" when I was growing up turned out to be fact. The rest would be rumors, or far worse, "facts" that Cole himself has put out, about himself, and about the "new world".
Any of it turns out to not be true, then your story line really starts.

    Happy RPing!

OH...Cole is completely right! Unless we are underground. *nod...wink...secret handshake....chocolate shake*
