Well, I know it was presumptuous of me to think folks would understand "main characters"..or..."characters one would like to show off"....lol, but that was more my intent. I do not think I would have room either for all of my toons, though 80 is a bit for even me.

Oh, and I would be happy to meet you in RV, any time my friend. I think those zones tend to get so few folks these days, nothing like it use to be. Maybe we can liven it up, and I can earn some more badges?
  2. Yep, aware there are other places, but wanted a condensed version, and figured gave people another chance to show off their characters.

  14. Are you ever surprised by your own plot elements?

Yes I am. I think most writers are. In fact, on some occasions, if I do not sit and write when the story is "developing", then it never gets written. Even on the "In The Newspapers" thread, it may be based on an AE arc, but the actual writing just plots out as I write. If I have the whole story finished in my head before I write, then it is done, and I seldom if ever actually write it after that. It would be like immediately reading a book I just read.
I will, at times, laugh and tell my wife "hey, look what so and so just did/said"...I know...weird, since it is my own writing. <_<

(while the quote is Ravenswing, this is in no way a direct response to Ravenswing or a bash on this quote, this is a legitimate statement)

RP'ers on here have not been the friendliest rp'ers I have played with in my almost 30 years as an rp'er (okay, maybe D&D doesn't count but I claim it anyway). They seem to be the hardest to get to know, and the hardest to actually like and want to get to know. I love rp, but sadly, it is not my main focus on here due to these reasons.

The majority in any group of clients will have the final say of where the company heads to. Grow the rp community by inviting people to be a part of it, and presenting something people actually wish to be a part of. Alternative...complain and just make yourselves look less attractive by insulting those that have other opinions. Never works.

By no means do I present this as all rp'ers, but sadly, only a few loud voices (so to speak of course) can ruin the taste of wanting to rp with any group. Get them under control, and you can grow a healthy community that will have a bigger say. How do you get them under control? No matter how use to them you are, start drawing the line on what you put up with, and alienate them if they insist on bashing others. It can stay an "elite" class, to which it will only shrink more, as will your influence on the game...or...it can grow with good guidance to help out those not use to your style of rp. On Union alone there are some wonderfully nice folks that need to just stand up and present a reason for people to want to rp. "They need to come to us and do it our way" thought does not work. "Be friendly, and teach them our way" is a much better solution.

The ball is never in the devs court, it is always in the clients, we just have to present a reason for them to continue to play with us. How do I know this? I once was a dev on a very strict, very hardcore rp game, dealing with the "story" of a world with multiple races/ethnicity/cultures, that catered to hundreds of rp'ers at once. Tight nit, closed rp'ers were not our first concerns, as they gave little back, but took as much as they could.

I hope this is viewed as help, and not bashing. I am over 40 years old, and not use to the up to date politically correct terminology..lol....so forgive me please if any of it sounds harsh. Not intended at all, and I mean NO ONE in particular on my negative comments...being very general here.
  16. Invuln is okay....and may be one of my favorite powers, but let's face it, invuln is no longer invuln. The hole in psi resistance/defense is to the point as such, that if you haven't put enough hard cash into it, you have trouble with EVERY mob, once you get passed the low levels...every mob has a psi or two. I think it more runs into the new additions to the mobs as opposed to the builds themselves. Sometimes it feels as if the additions are in direct opposition of older power sets so as to negate the ability. I get it, it makes it more challenging, but it is difficult to find a story thread or a "mob" (forgive my lack of terminology here) without psi or end drain once you get into the higher levels. If you dont have the cash yet, forget about 30 on up CoS, CoT, Freakshow...etc etc etc...even the stupid clockwork are all psi! LOL

With this said, am I complaining about the build? No, I have a lvl 50 invuln tank (I know we are talking scrappers but same hole) that fares very well...well, downright awesome, and due to my multiple lvl 50s, I have plenty of cash. I know the builds can work out, but, it shouldn't be that you only fight well if you can afford to. I am saying these are legitimate concerns made of not only invuln, but any of the older sets.

I keep reading "with minimal cash"...."with a little bit of cost".....define minimal. To a newer player it is quite different than to a 4-5 year veteran. Without assistance, MOST, not all, but MOST of my toons were barely millionaires. 2 million buys nothing at level 30, yet strong psi/end drain mobs start showing up. Minimal has a different meaning. Besides, enhancement sets were to be additions to ones set, not necessities.

I do not wish anyone to walk away from the builds, my point is that it may not be the builds, but if we close our eyes to the actual concerns, and our only rebuttal is "if you get enough purple enhancements" (okay, exaggerated, I admit), then maybe it needs to be looked at. Again, I dont think it is the builds, but that almost EVERY mob seems to have a psi..excluding the Council who are just easy marks! Psychic little robots...COME ON MAN! LOL

"I have written in to ensure all who are worried, especially any reporter or super hero that are simply looking to underscore any and all of my great accomplishments, that Minhere Inc is in no way involved in any harm or loss of life of any hero, or non-hero. While it is true that we needed to shut down a very private lab and storage facility, due to unwanted visitors entering said place, it was in no way the fault of Minhere Inc that these AI, as some like to think of them, caused any harm to the good people of Atlas Park, Maine, or anywhere in the US. I personally hired some technicians, well schooled in their field, to permanently shut this program down. It is unfortunate that some found the need to trespass, and very fortunate for them that I choose not to file charges. I do assure all of the innocent law abiding people that all is safe. I thank you for your continued support, and love."

    Luke Minhere

Owner and CEO of Minhere Inc

This was sent to the newspapers following what appeared to be a malfunction in one of Minhere Inc.'s older lab, now storage facility. This is in reply to a report made July 9, 2011. I must add that the informant, for lack of a better way to identify the person, was indeed harmed, and did have proof that he was asked to the lab by an unknown source. I was able to speak to the assistant of Minhere Inc who stated that fault did not lie on the shoulders of Minhere Inc if some unknown hero followed some unknown source asking them to their private lab for unknown reasons. I will remain on top of this story, however, in case of any breaking new information arises.

It seems a lab owned by Minhere Inc. has gone awry! This reporter was contacted by an injured hero who wished to stay anonymous. He was able to take this photo of what is claimed to be an AI robot produced and manufactured by Minhere Inc. If this report is true, then Minhere Inc has some explaining to do. Mr Luke Minhere was not available at this time for questions, and in fact the secretary seemed to be a bit busy with other, less human demands that I could not quite make out. Under any circumstances, it is obvious that someone needs to look into this, before another of our fine heroes gets hurt or killed. The bottom line of any corporation is secondary to human life.

  19. Levels 1-54, either red or blue! Added above too. Feel free to critique here. I wish to do more time to time, so feed back is important. Only thing, dont just tell me what a dookie head i am, tell me why i am a dookie head! Thanks.
  20. The Abyss is a new AE arc designed to be challenging but not impossible, can be either villain or hero. Meet old enemies such as the CoT, and new ones such as The Undead. Maps look great (I can say that, I didnt create them), and the over all feel is good. (solo'ed tank, but end arch-villain was very difficult and had to set settings for elite. However, with team, very do-able.) Level is 1-54!
Designed to be a prelude (but separate) to other arcs in the future. Feedback is encouraged. Thanks!

    The Abyss

    AE ARC# 505470

Do you have the guts? Can you withstand the evil? Check it out and see. You may think it is JUST an AE mission.....but it may well be something more.

((Levels 1-54 are welcomed. Best for teams, but do-able solo [did it with my tank]. It is a challenging arc filled with dangers, so mind your settings, especially for the last mission, where you will fight an arch-villain.
