PVE: Hi, I heard that PvP is kind of fun in this game can you help me get started.

PVP: Well its not nearly as fun anymore its a game that might as well been made by a moron

PVE: Oh but if I wanted to give it a try.

PVP: Ok lets look at you. Your power selections are crap

PVE: I have to do a second build ?

PVP: No you have to do second character (SR/Ice Blast/Empathy .../Fire control) are all worthless.

PVE: Ok so I have to do a second character and get him up level and this will put me on an even footing ? That is kind of tough it took me a long time to get this one done.

PvP: Oh don't expect to be on an even footing, you have a SO build, There are all kinds of specialists out there that will just destroy you with that. If you dont have KB protection/Plus perception/increased HP/ Increased Recharge

PVE: Its going to take me hundreds of hours to get that done, I mean I have been playing the game for years and my main still isn't where I want him to be.

PVP: Well get your character powerleveled and use the market or find some other fast way to raise inf.

PVE: Once I do all that its really fun at least ?

PVP: Oh Yeah, Black Barrier has great tales of how he got people so upset they were sending him hate mail, and Skeet destroyed badgers by the bucketload while they were in zone.*

*Read prior posts in this thread. I have considerably worse these are just convenient.

PVE: [sheepishly] well the conversation and atmosphere is good ?

PVP: Yeah as long as you can get past the mental game and the things people will say to put you off your game.

PVE: Like what ? Are they going to point behind me and say wow claudia shiffer ? Female Characters go around flashing ?

PVP: No more like if they think you are female they will suggest you put strange things into odd orifices, scratch that they will suggest that even if you are male. You know things they think will really rile you up and get you to make stupid moves.

PVE: Is there anything thats really great ?

PVP: Well there are these drops you can get only in PvP.

PVE: Well thanks, I'll get back to you on this. Our SG is having a dance party costume contest next week, some really nice people will be there.
    {PVEer to himself: Boy that was close, glad I decided to check things out first}

    PVP: I'll get back to you on that. {To himself: Whiny fing Carebear what did he expect it would be like}

Or perhaps he would say something like this quote to himself about the PvEer just being a precious flower.

I do have to ask if you are better at something just how are they dragging you down again ?
What you said is mostly true but do you want the pvpers to lie to the pvers and tell them there gimped builds are good or the truth? I prefer true over sugar coated lies anytime.

There is only a select few that trash talk outright in zones that I notice and then those that only trashtalk if their getting trashed talked, if you can't take it well grow some thicker skin it'll do you good both in pvp and the real world.

I want to answet this question specically
*is there anything that is really great?
Yes the joy of fighting real PCs and not dumb NPCs that have the same routine all the time. The exileration in over coming the odds against real PCs not NPCs. PVP is a game about brains where as pve is your typical hack n slash/blast rpg.

I see dozens of powers colored black every day. Mostly black fire. Doesn't turn my head cause it's so common. I do however occasionally see someone with a color scheme that makes me double take and compliment them on it.

    For instance:
    1) Radioactive fire; Thermal colored to match Rad Blast
    2) Pale green "mystic" fire and electricity
    3) White-colored spines to look like protruding bones
    4) Differently colored sonic buffs that blend the musical scales smoothly
    5) Dark purple Plant Control to be deadly nightshade plants
    6) All the cool combinations of colors that Phantom Army can have
    7) Blue, red, and yellow Energy pompoms used with /e jugglemagic
    8) Earth Control colored red and green to make a blooming crystal flower with immob + hold

Three of those are mine. Try and guess!

    My guess is 2, 5 and 8

well what does that tell you then? Black is obviously a very popular color while *radioactive fire* which ever color that would happen to be if such a thing even looks different then regular fire is not.

nope that's not true either recharge gets hit like a truck by DR. Outside in pve I have 67.5% global recharge enough for perma DP but when I go into Recluses Victroy even with hasten running DP still isnt permanent.

You can do a lot to improve your perception. Tactics, Focused Accuracy, Rectified Reticle, yellows, and probably other techniques. Some sets offer perception as well, but not Katana/Regen. Perception on VEATs caps at 1261 feet, and on all other ATs caps at 1153. So even if you cap your perception, you STILL won't see a Stalker until it's 10 feet away, which is probably too late.

In contrast, if you hit the invisibility cap on your Scrapper, people with capped perception will still see you from 581 feet away. You're invisible, but they have infravision, ultravision, magical sight of some sort, sonar, etc., so they see you anyway.

Still, you're a Regeneration Scrapper. You have burst healing to deal with getting hit by a Stalker. Try to see the game from their perspective in this. Yeah, they get the first shot, and it's a really nice shot, but then you just heal and they have to run. They can't kill you, ever, as long as you're on your game. How frustrating is that? Probably more frustrating than having to click a heal occasionally. And if you get dropped by a team of Stalkers, well, you'd have been dropped by a team of archetypes X, Y and Z, so it doesn't really have anything to do with them being Stalkers.

Again, I don't PvP, so if I'm way off base on how this goes down in practice rather than in my head, my apologies.

as usual your spot on Werner and you say it in such a nice way cudos
  12. From what I know yes they drop any where pvp is, but there is a 5 minute timer so you have to wait 5 minutes to kill the same person to have a chance at a drop again. I have never got any from arena but I don't use it that often either.

Okay dealing with toggle debuffs, what is a good way to work passed those? I don't know much about PvP and the levels pertaining to it so I have no clue what is good or bad.
Toggles debuffs there's really 3 ways to deal with them

1.Throw a hold/stun at the person who has the toggle debuff and it'll drop
    2.Phase
    3.Kill them

jump over them if they bother you that much.

Slows were gutted with pvp 2.0 they got shat on and the only real slow I can think of are toggle debuffs and only cause they cause perma travel suppresion.

    Anything else?

P.S. don't get sucked into lolfiteclub it really is the lowest of skill pvp wise
  16. This seems like the right place thxs pvp even if you are broken.

Do you mind if I ask how long the average time is to down one of the GMs on your blaster.

That gives me an idea to run that arc threw oura and but it to plus 4 X8 mobs. See how much statesman can really take hehe.

Huh I thought everyone took the build up powers no matter what. I could never dream of skipping it and like some others in the thread already stated I use it every time it's recharged.

And you haven't walked a day in my shoes to know how rough it is where I'm at. So don't assume you know everything when in fact, you know nothing.

He made the mention of cutting off my cigs when in the end that would cause me stress, and possible panic attacks later on down the line. Perhaps causing me my home, any future job I might get (in the middle of quitting) or friends because I flipped out on them.
I can't afford the medication for what I have and this is the closest thing I got. Back to the "loyalty" badge now plz kthxbai.
If you would have those kind of problems from quitting smoking you have a lot more problems then a badge in a video game.

You do not deserve the badge you account was not active between the specified dates.

I am directly aware of a large in-game backlash across Supergroups, Coalitions, and various global channels with many players repeatedly comparing their Hero Electric to their Villain Electric and unable to get over just how good the Hero version is in a comparative manner.

What are you talking about? The brute and stalker version both got energize and it replaced conserve power.

That doesn't break the cottage rule either.
