Complaints about their removal? Those I heard plenty of.
Ah yeah I guess I did misread what you said. Like you I never heard anyone complain about them being in the game from the start so I focused in on the only "complaining" I actually remembered which came from people upset that they were nerfed.

There were various rumors going around as to why the nips got nerfed. But I think it was related to what I was talking about in reference to the skintone color nerf. I suspect they got some angry responses from parents that they didn't want their kids playing a game that allowed "naughtiness" like simulated nudity. When the Devs nerfed the skintones I think nips got nerfed too as a related "anti-naughtiness" measure. Sadly I think the skintone thing drew "parent aggro" towards anything like it so the nip nerf was probably an overreaction on our Devs' part.

Ultimately it would be cool to eventually play a game like this with anatomically correct characters, but I think the chances of that ever happening in the "teen-rated" MMO genre is pretty much nil.

Well I guess it was asking too much for people to consider my point about there being "cute" actresses and "hot" actresses regardless of your individual ideas of who fits into those separate categories.

I tend to suspect the Hollywood execs consider Zooey "cute" and Angelina "hot" regardless of what we think.

I suspect that the very, very few of you who don't want inherent Fitness are not worth the Devs' time to make it optional. This is a change that has been requested since Beta. This game tries to provide a huge amount of customization, but there is always the cost/benefit consideration -- whether the few people who want (or don't want) a particular option is worth spending the time making it optional. If the Devs had unlimited resources, I'm sure they would love to let you choose whether or not to take Fitness as an inherent.
Ironically the Devs didn't need "unlimited" resources to make it optional. As a software engineer IRL with almost 20 years experience I'm willing to make an educated guess that the amount of effort it would have taken to implement it as an optional feature instead of a mandatory one would not have been significantly different.

The only reason we got it as a mandatory scheme is because the people whining to get it were so loud the Devs erred on the side of "gezz, they ALL seem to want it so let's give it to them regardless of the consequences." The Devs always OVERCOMPENSATE for things like this so the fact that they overreacted here sadly doesn't surprise me a bit.

I will never accept the idea of LOSING a choice of character design to be an overall "good" thing regardless what the masses think they want. Anyone arguing for the idea that they DON'T want to keep a choice like this just makes me cringe in amazement.

I might (might mind you) eventually see this if I find out that Gary Oldman was very good in it because I've loved him in pretty much everything I've seen him in so far. But hopefully it'll come out on HBO so that I don't have to pay any "extra" for it.

Anyways thanks for the help all.

And what is this about other power sets? There are only 2 power sets with the expansion.
Yes but other people have already told you it'll only be $9.99 on Cyber Monday. You're obviously free to have whatever reason against it you want, but implying the only real reason you're against it is that it "costs $40" is a bit silly all thing considered.

    Good luck to you regardless...

Sadly I think 98% of this playerbase would probably consider making Inherent Fitness optional instead of "mandatory" to be pointless.

They don't seem to realize that even if most people chose to use Fitness on their builds at least it was still a CHOICE we had for ourselves. People seem to be perfectly willing to lose that kind of control over their characters just for the sake of cookie-cutter expediency.

  11. Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing an adult/scary version of Red Riding Hood. But the fact that this movie has -any- relation to Twilight (even if it's just via the director) makes me automatically assume it'll be lame and geared towards the "tweeners" to some degree.

Yeah that was a creepy movie, different but creepy.

Just think of her from Natalie's rap she did with Lonely Island.
I don't think Carnifax_NA is creeped out because Leon was a creepy movie in and of itself. I think it's because even though Natalie is 29 now she was only 13 when Leon came out. I think some people who find her attractive have to wrestle with the fact that they first thought she was "cute" when she was very underage.

Controller or defender I couldn't tell you.

I also have completed a Master of run where my tank was along for the ride because we had four illusion/storm controllers. The other three spots on the team were /sonic blast defenders. Nothing has ever gone that smoothly.

All I'm saying is this: If you're serious about getting the badge and don't want to rely on gimmicky strategy, just bring a team of defenders.
Clearly getting a good team for a Master run is always better and less stressful. I certainly have nothing against that.

But I'll just point out that the O-portal method for this particular SF would work for ANY team. And it would ultimately be less stressful for ANY team because you wouldn't have to deal with the ambushes and AV at the same time. For me I'll gladly accept it taking longer to finish a Master run to gain as much safety and risk management as possible, regardless of the skill/composition of the team.

Perhaps they "should" be run that way but the fact that they can actually succeed with other team makeups with other kinds of tactics pretty much shows us your "should" is nothing more than a recommendation.

The ambushes eventually end. At this point, turn your defenders on to Reichy and make him disappear in seconds.
If your team is strong enough sure, do it that way. But if you have a less-than-optimal team it's always safest to keep the team out of an obvious meat-grinder when one death can ruin it for everyone. *shrugs*
  16. The safest way I've seen a MoCuda run go relies on a bit of a trick that requires everyone involved to be either a Villain or Rogue because it involves TPing to Ouroboros.

Basically once you get to the point where the ambushes start coming everyone TPs to Ouroboros. The idea is that it gets the team out of that main room and allows you to go back into the mission without having to face the ambushes AND the AV at the same time. It takes longer to do it this way because this method basically forces you to have to survive all the ambushes first before you get back to the main AV room, but it has the obvious advantage of mitigating the risk involved.

Of course now that I've mentioned this method the Devs will probably nerf Ouroboros TPing during Master runs so you better do it now before they get any funny ideas about it.

  19. Yeah it's pretty annoying and seems completely random. Some days it doesn't happen at all but other days it'll happen 3 or 4 times within a matter of minutes. I've gotten into the habit of typing out my posts in an offline editor then cutting-n-pasting them into the forum just so that I don't lose anything I type. That's kind of pathetic to say the least.

I never even heard of this movie until I saw this thread. It sort of looks like an updated Princess Bride with a little bit of Blackadder and classic Mel Brooks thrown in. Obviously having a quick "Natalie in a thong" scene will probably earn this movie an extra few dozen million all by itself.

Too bad we have to wait until next April for this one.

I agree that these graphics are now getting good enough to be in the Uncanny Valley. But I see it as a stepping stone towards the truly perfect representations we'll get in the longer term future. If we assume computer graphics will continue to improve over time there will be a point where they'll eventually move past the Uncanny Valley.

I'm willing to get creeped out for a while in order for things to eventually become more perfect.

Never heard anyone complain about the "great nipple nerf"?
You must have not been too active on these forums back when it happened.

The nipple nerf was actually part of one of the very first patches to the game soon after it launched back in April 2004. It came with the nerf that prevented us from using "skintone" colors for costume items. Various naughty people were having way too much fun running around appearing to be nude. Oh my!

Technically speaking all they did to nerf nipples was to change the way the body model polygons were shaped so that the edges didn't poke out quite as much as they initially did. The Devs didn't really "cut" anything off as much as simply smoothed over the area to make what was there a little less obvious.

Ironically even though character graphics are finally getting to the point where they could easily be anatomically correct we will probably be stuck with having smooth "barbie doll" like bodies for the foreseeable future in games like these. The Devs are likely going to try to keep these kinds of things "G-rated" just to keep a handful of whiny parents from getting upset.

What part of online stores putting up big sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving is a myth?
You ever wonder why in many towns you'll find many of the major car dealerships all right next to each other? The basic idea is that if you're shopping for a car you'll be more likely to actually buy one if you can do all of your shopping in one place without wasting any time driving around to separate locations. The dealerships are actually helping each other by being all in one place.

This is essentially the same thing that has evolved with Cyber Monday. By having many websites offer sales all on the same day potential shoppers are more likely to buy from multiple websites while they are sitting during one session to get it all done at once.

There's really no -myth- about it at all. It's just basic good business.

Are you talking about having a new version of Super Jump that would let you travel faster by sacrificing control over it? I guess I wouldn't be against that as some kind of new power as long as you left "normal" Super Jump unchanged.

Well sadly even if this was a "one-line" code change it still might never happen just because it would take some Dev some amount of time to look into. I honestly don't think it'd be too hard to do (and I'm saying that as Software Engineer IRL) but even if it were trivial that's no guarantee the Devs would ever be able to get around to it.
