I think it's apparently "unlimited" simply because no one's gotten to the cap yet.

Pretty much all the other categories of salvage in this game are limited at some point.
I'm sure whatever the limits are they'll be pretty big (like 999 or 9999) so I won't worry about it too much. -
Quote:Agreed. If the list is gone right now because of some bug I hope that having to fix that bug gives them the opportunity to improve the presentation of how the items are listed. As it was I basically never actually "read" the text of those lists - instead I just checked to see whether a person had a "Wall-o-IOs" or not.If they must bring it back, I hope they put it in a seperate tab. Or like Jade said, turn my entire power tab of INCREASED RANGED DEFENSE spam to INCREASED RANGED DEFENSE x500

Quote:According to Paragonwiki all flight powers are capped at 58.63 MPH. Hover's base is only 21.3 MPH and it mentions that with 3 Fly SOs it goes up to 28 MPH. I don't know how old these numbers are but based on my experience with Hover these values still seem pretty reasonable.is it worth it to slot hover for flight speed at all? or am i going to bump up against some kind of limit to how fast hover can be?
Basically this means there's no way you can get to the hard cap of Hover using just Hover alone. Even 6 slotted (if you actually wanted to waste 6 slots in it now) you can't get it close to Fly's speed so there's no way to "overslot" it. So make it as fast or slow as you want.

Amazingly enough right after that reclassification they started to find life all over the Solar System.

I 'honestly' don't care much either way beyond mentioning it was a bit weird to start a "X count badge" thread when a "X+100 count" thread already existed. It wasn't exactly "buried" in this forum section - at worst it was like 10 threads from the top. That, and I personally think the "count" badges (like Questing) were a dumb series of badges from the beginning ("Why should I get a badge just for getting a certain number of other badges?") so I'll admit I was a bit biased that way too.

Beyond that anyone can obviously start any thread they want (within forum rules of course) so knock yourself out... -
Well I'd think that all three events should work the same regardless. Either you should be able to do all of them solo or none of them solo. Sounds like there's a bug there one way or the other.

Quote:Yeah I don't mind that we got more Tip missions in general. I just thought "hole" that was being plugged up was our ability to take our Vigilantes redside (or Rogues blueside) and do alignment missions to REAFFIRM their alignments as Vigilantes and Rogues, not be forced to have to work towards being pure Villains or Heroes.Actually, this fixes my one BIGGEST complaint about alignment switches, by far - cross-faction missions weren't very well written. The unique "vigilante on CoV" and "rogue on CoH" sections were interesting, but they felt rushed and underdeveloped, lacking much of the refinement that these missions had on their own side.
Furthermore, these missions were just the same heroes and villains got, respectively, so after the unique "intro," you were back to the same old ill-fitting content. Things like how "You can't escape justice!" from my frikkin' rogue just don't fit.
This is basically plugging up a hole.
Basically if I take a Vigilante redside I wanted the choice to either do Villain missions or Vigilante missions. I don't want just one choice there. You mentioned things that don't "fit" like your Rogue example. A Rogue yelling "You can't escape justice!" would fit a "Rogue doing a Hero mission blueside" but not a "Rogue doing a Rogue mission blueside". We need the specific ability to have a "Rogue do a Rogue mission blueside" if he/she wanted to. -
Yep it should be easy enough for anyone who was a top Primal Earth badger to get into the 1,160+ range with just the Praetorian/I19 Explore badges. Looks like finishing up the rest of the new I19 badges and remaining Praetorian badges will get us to the 1,190+ range. Not quite sure anyone can break 1,200 until I20 but I guess we'll know soon enough.

Quote:Obviously you're not a real Futurama fan because everyone knows that back in 2620 scientists renamed Uranus to finally put an end to all the silly "your anus" jokes about it... now of course it's called Urectum.Whatever made you say that?, you're awfully quick to roll over! - maybe they've probed Uranus.

Patch Note for I19 Tip missions:
Quote:I guess I misunderstood what we were getting in I19 because I actually believed the same thing Lurker Hunter did. I thought the idea was that I could take a Vigilante redside (or a Rogue blueside) and reinforce their alignments with a whole new category of Tip missions. If it's true that Vigilantes can still only do Villain missions redside (and Rogues can only do Hero missions blueside) then it doesn't sound like I19 actually gave us anything we couldn't already do.Vigilantes in Rogue Isles and Rogues in Paragon City should now see tip drops specifically designed for fallen Vigilantes and redeemed Rogues exclusively in ‘tourist’ zones.
Sure as a Vigilante redside it might be fun to get different Villain Tip missions I wouldn't get as a Villain/Rogue redside, but getting access to a different subset of missions doesn't really benefit me all that much if I don't actually want to change my alignment. Oh well... -
Ironically I have a couple of characters who are insane/powerhungry enough that the consequences of becoming slaves to the Well would have been meaningless to them if it meant they had uber-power right NAO!

But seriously yeah it is interesting how the Devs handled the backstory to explain how we are going to be different kinds of Incarnates from Statesman and Lord Reculse. I figure they just came up with the "fast path versus slow path" concept just to help drive home that difference.
Yeah maybe it was also to poke a bit of fun at the players out there who are unwilling to work a little to earn big rewards, but I don't think that was the Devs' prime motivation or message. More a funny coincidence.

Quote:I hope that the Devs will consider a retroactive global unlock for the salvage and recipe slots.I have three characters with portable workbenches and I use them daily for my recipe buying/crafting/selling cycles in the markets. I have no problem with the duration/recharge times for the workbenches and I see no reason to let these "per-character" based accolades be made global to all of my characters.Quote:If it wasn't a 5 minute duration and 60 minute recharge It would be more viable as a reward for the sheer amount of crap you have to go through to get it.
Sorry, but I just don't feel you pain on this. *shrugs* -
Captain Zapp Brannigan: "Now, like all great plans, my strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it. On my command all ships will line up and fly directly into the alien death cannons, clogging them with wreckage."
Maybe we're about to redirect Cassini to clog up the alien death cannons... -
Primal Earth characters (in other words your "older" ones) can now travel to Praetoria and get most of the new Praetorian badges.
The only 4 badges they can't get (at least right now) are Moral High Ground, Resistance Member, Loyalist and Avid Reader. -
Quote:Since when did these "badge count club" threads have to be based on an official count badge? If you look back through this section of the forums you'll find threads of pretty much every hundreds count (500, 600, 700, etc.). So threre's nothing "wrong" with the 1,100 thread (because that's where we're going to stuck until I20) and when someone breaks 1200 there'll probably be a thread for that too (despite the next badge being at 1250).Because 1100 isn't an Official Badge, and there are quite a few of us who aren't close?

P.S. The main reason we didn't start this one is because most top badgers will move from the 980s into the 1,100s in just a few hours. *shrugs*
Case in point: it only took me about 4 hours to make it to 1,100. -
I'm starting to have a vague feeling that after I watch the next episode I'm going to conclude that they really needed about 10-12 episodes to properly tell the story that they crammed down to 6. There are just enough rushed plotholes here and there that are raising too many questions for me. With a bit more time I think they could have fleshed out (pun intended) some of these spots and made the story flow a bit more smoothly. Time will tell of course.

Quote:If Dr. CDC was suicidal because of isolation (your point #1) then why would he want obvious non-zombie humans to go away when they showed up on his doorstep? You'd think such a person's first reaction would be to let them in even if it went against quarantine protocol. Clearly something's not adding up here. Here's some of my thoughts on Dr. CDC.
1) Agree with Frogfather: I got the impression the guy was despondent from long isolation, feeling like he failed and possibly thinking he's the last person left alive.
2) I don't think he infected himself. Whatever that stuff was he spilled was VERY corrosive and he didn't seem to be in pain, so I don't think it burned his skin.
3) As to why he said "Go away," well, I believe anything we can come up with for that is pure speculation. Anyway, my pure speculation is that he has something to hide. I'm guessing that he maybe killed someone to keep them from leaving and possibly letting zombies in. Or he killed someone to extend the food supply (not cannibalism, just fewer mouths to feed). Or maybe...maybe...TS-19 (the destroyed tissue sample) was from someone he infected before and he's afraid he'll do it again, or that he'll be found out.
4) From #3...why *is* the CDC empty except for this guy? I'm guessing there are at least a few hundred people who work there, counting all the scientists, clerical staff, maintenance, etc. It seems that SOME of them should still be there. More than just Dr. CDC, I would think.
I'm willing to accept that something's "fishy" about the whole situation surrounding Dr. CDC and hopefully we'll get some reasonable answers in the next episode.

The same thing happens for something in just about every new Issue:
It goes along the lines of "OMG! New content X is too hard. The Devs should either nerf it or fix it NAO!"
Then a week or so passes, everybody learns how to beat it and finally no one ever whines about it again.

Quote:Well frankly if we had to "swallow the pill" that Rick somehow managed to find is his family so quickly after waking up from his coma then sadly I think we have to accept that this show is willing to have other "highly convenient" deus ex machine moments like the CDC guy infecting himself just before he had visitors. Let's just say having that happen would not surprise me at this point. *shrugs*Anyway, I'm gonna take the novel approach and wait to see where the show takes us in this (completely different direction from the comic? Been a while since I read them) turn of events. But tbh I'll be pretty disappointed if he conveniently got himself infected just before he gets company. I think it just might be the final, lazy, serve-the-plot convenience for me.

No, as far as I know there are no new TP beacons in I19.
-
Quote:Well with all the new exploration badges (and Primal access to Praetoria) it's going to be relatively easy for the top badgers to sprint up past 1,100+. Most of these threads are usually named for whatever range of "hundreds" the top badgers manage to get to so the fact that 1,000 is a milestone that'll be quickly surpassed there's not much reason to worry about it....I honestly had no idea it was out there 'til you bumped the thread. My bad.

Why 1100? I figured to keep to the whole "badge name" for the milestone counter too. That'd be 1000, 1250, etc.

If I bothered to spend around 30 minutes a day in the markets I could probably generate 2 billion Influence (and subsequently convert it into 4 million Prestige) roughly once every 10 days or so give or take. That's just buying and selling things in the market - I'm not even talking about doing anything with merits or anything else.
I think it's nice the Devs are giving us an extra SG Prestige bonus for Praetorian characters, but if you actually want to earn Prestige for a SG then worrying about loading it up with Praetorians will only get you so far.

I'm just bumping this back up now that I19 is live.
I should be getting my main badger up to 1,100+ by tonight or tomorrow depending on how much real life gets in my way after work.
UPDATE: Just managed 1,100 before bedtime.
-
Uh, there's been a "1,100 badge club" thread ready and waiting for I19 for weeks now.
Why didn't you just use that one?
