Yeah it wouldn't be a big deal to people like me who have around 79 months into this game. But making all capes and auras unlock at level 1 would probably cause no end of whining/screaming from almost anyone who didn't have that much time racked up.

Basically I'm convinced there's really no way the Devs can seriously give us anything "cool" for a Vet award again because there are people playing now who'll realistically never get a chance to get them.

Strictly speaking I wasn't really apologizing for anything. I was explaining what I wrote and why I wrote it. You implied that I "wronged" you here by throwing a spoiler at you despite my ample warning so I guess I gave this the half hearted mea culpa I thought it deserved. *shrugs*

Secondly I might not have strictly compared or contrasted the show versus the comic, but if one were to "discuss the merits of the comic book compared with the series" (which you claim is acceptable) then someone would have to bring up the points that make the TV show different than the comic via what some would consider "spoilers".

And as far as that goes I did include a SPOLIER ALERT. It was your choice to keep reading my post or not so why you seem to be upset with me is mysterious at best. People who've actually read the comic have been dropping spoilers left and right in this thread and when I come along and simply -repeat- one of those you get upset with ME for it?

Well I suppose if you're a person who hates spoilers then you have a valid right to complain about it. But why you apparently chose my post to pick on when there were plenty of better choices for that I'll never know.

Yeah I wouldn't assume all you have to do is have everyone Fly/Hover in that room and you'll be safe. Between the blast radii of the mines and the fact that the AV apparently has "grounding" powers (I've been hit with anti-fly effects several times in that room) I don't think relying on that is enough.

If this TF ever gets the same "Nukes can't be used" nerf that the CoP trial got then I'm not sure the Dodger badge would actually be doable unless you had perfectly designed teams with the right AT/Powersets.

Thanks for reporting your results. Again I'll point out how very cheesy that is. The idea that you can just burn a banked respec token to "automagically" get another opposite-side badge is bad for all sorts of reasons.

Ideally we should just be able to run 6 total respec trials (3 hero and 3 villain) and be able to get 6 badges and 6 respec tokens out of that. Keeping the limit to only 3 bankable respec tokens simply doesn't make sense now that we can crossover back-n-forth between both sides.

Yeah this is team based because this is latest version of the "Master of X" concept. Instead of having to survive a TF/SF with the "No deaths/temps" option now you have to do things like this task in order to get all the sub-badges for the Master of Tin Mage's Task Force badge.

For what it's worth I think this is probably the hardest I19 badge to get unless you manage to get a team willing to dump every pet/nuke they can throw at this.

There's been a suggestion floating around for years that heroes should get a heroic patron pool system that would be an analog to the villain patron pools. Now that both sides can use the ancillary power pools (that used to only be a hero thing) I believe the time for heroes to get a new a set of heroic patron pools for themselves is only that much more fitting.

So no, I don't want bluesiders to be able to directly "steal" from the villain patron pools.
I'd rather see both sides have their own patron pools that are roughly equal to each other.

For what it's worth I've never read the comic this was based on. I just passed along some comic book info (with spoiler alerts) that someone else posted here a few weeks ago (which also was spoiler alerted).

Since this TV show is based on a pre-existing comic book that's been around for several years I think it's probably reasonable to expect people are going to compare/contrast what's in the show versus what's in the comic book. I suppose if it bothers you that much then maybe you should avoid this thread from now on. Sorry, I guess. *shrugs*

So did you have to burn your 2 respec tokens in order to get the badges to award or were you just able to get the 4th and 5th badges because you hadn't used those 2 respecs?

Either way there's a fundmental problem with having the potential to get badges be based on whether or not you used respec tokens. Like I said I used one of the 3 original tokens I had back like 5 years ago. How was I supposed to know I should have not used that respec just so that I'd be able to get another badge 5 years later?

According to what others have said in this thread it seems like the only strategy that really works to get this badge is to kill the AV so quickly with a ton of nukes/pets that the trip mines never really become a factor in the first place. Not being able to target the mine layers would only make killing the AV that much harder if you can't kill him in a few seconds anyway.

Yeah that would be pretty silly if you could grab one of those count badges like that. That's adds to my list of reasons why I think those count badges were a fundamentally silly idea to begin with.

There's another thread in this section of the forums discussing this situation. My main hero badger used one of those three original respecs (back like 5 years ago) so I could potentially get 2 of the 3 villain respec badges on her.

I'm actually probably going to hold off on that because I think the whole situation is very crummy. I think the Devs will eventually fix it so that people can legally get all 6 badges (3 hero and 3 villain) regardless of whether you used respecs or not. But just as likely they'll make it impossible for people to legally get more than 3 and remove excess respec badges from everyone. No point in doing the work to get badges whose future is questionable at best. *shrugs*

Again I have no doubt that the whole potential "Who's the father?" blame game is a very likely scenario that'll play out during the next season of the show. They definitely planted (no pun intended) those seeds in the shows we've seen so far. But I think you're hung up on being certain that it would have to be Shane's baby. You do remember there was that very obvious scene in the 3rd episode that had Rick and Lori "celebrating" his return in the tent while their son slept nearby right?

For there to be the proper level of dramatic angst over this situation it would be far better story-wise for this thing to be a "surprise" baby and for there to be a level of uncertainty about whose baby it is. If the Doctor wasted his last moments whispering to Rick that not only is Lori pregnant but that he knows Shane is the father then a huge amount of the OMG! factor that would make this situation truly tragic would be totally deflated. No, it's going to be far more "fun" for us as an audience to see this baby situation explode and have Shane and Rick fighting over not knowing whose baby it is.

Yeah but you're making a lot of assumptions there:

1) First you're assuming she pregnant at all. Yes, it's quite possible that she is given that we've see her with Shane, but we as the audience don't know that yet.

2) If she is pregnant it's equally possible it's Rick's. Remember we saw Lori and Rick "together" as well.

3) Assuming she's pregnant and assuming the Doctor found out why on Earth would he have any reason to guess it wasn't Rick's? After all he knew they were husband and wife and had no idea Shane was a potential father in this situation.

4) Yes I agree that the Doctor might be optimistic about the idea of new babies being born to help humanity but why on Earth would he whisper that? Most everyone else was running out the door so there really wasn't anyone else around to hear what he had to say whether it was a "secret" to anyone or not.

Bottomline the only reason the Doctor whispered ANYTHING to Rick was to keep it secret from us, the audience. The makers of the TV show wanted us to know that the Doctor told Rick SOMETHING very important, but didn't want us the audience to know exactly what that something was yet.

I'm just having a very hard time thinking the makers of the show would waste the potential of the season finale cliffhanger "whisper" on a plot point that's going to reveal itself regardless. If Lori's pregnant that fact will become obvious on its own and the show is going to have to deal with the "Who's the father?" controversy when the time comes.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread a few weeks ago that the comic book established that pretty much everyone who is alive is already infected with the zombie disease. The disease just waits for the body to die for it to take over.

Now remember what the Doctor said when they asked him "Did everything check out with our blood samples?" He responded with some vague comment like "Yeah, pretty much what I expected". Given this info I strongly suspect what the Doctor whispered to Rick was more along the lines of "I must warn you that you all have the zombie disease and you're going to have to decide how you want to handle telling everyone else about it."

That seems far, far more likely than him just saying something like "Hey dude your wife's knocked up."

Yep I can see where using this technology to simply "de-age" living actors to allow them to play younger roles will also be a consequence of all this. That kind of thing may actually be considered more acceptable and beneficial to everyone involved both actors and audiences alike.

Like most any new technology somebody will also try to apply this "lifelike CGI modeling/remodeling" technology to the porn industry as well.

It might actually work better in that arena because unlike trying to recreate the personality and mannerisms of well-known famous dead actors most people who "perform" in porn aren't in those movies for their Oscar-winning acting ability. The makers of those films will not have to worry about the intangibles that would make what Lucas is apparently trying to do problematic at best.

I'm actually willing to chalk it up to yet another continuity/story error. This show has been full of them.

But if you wanted to grasp at a "workable" explaination we know that the Doctor himself knew very little about what caused the zombie condition. He told us people can reanimate in anywhere from as little as a few minutes to a few days. So it's reasonable to assume a few zombies may actually retain a tiny portion of their humanity on some primal level. Maybe zombies who had a real strong attachment to other people (like Andrea and Amy or the mom from the first show had) can keep some flicker of attachment or unconscious desire to return to those people. Who knows?

This show just seems to make up things as it goes along so I'd say almost anything is possible...

Frankly if what the Doctor whispered into Rick's ear was something along the lines of "Your wife is pregnant" I'm going to be pretty annoyed with this show because that would be a completely stupid thing to whisper. The Doctor wouldn't bother to waste what was effectively his last dying thoughts/concerns to Rick over something so mundane and silly. He would have absolutely no idea that her being pregnant was a "secret" thing between Shane and her and while he was checking for the zombie pathogens he's not going to be wasting any time with paternity DNA testing.

Now I'm not denying that Lori may be pregnant and that may very well spark into a confrontation between Shane and Rick eventually. I'm just saying that would happen regardless of what the Doctor said. Why would the writers "waste" a dramatic whisper on a plot point that's going to happen anyway?

Sure the Sun is questionable. Sure Lucas might not be involved with this.

But once again someone, somewhere will attempt to do it as the technology allows it to become easier and cheaper to do.

Eh, I've kept them all TiVo'd until I get bored with them.
I'll wait until it's been out for many seasons as a complete series box set before I even think about buying it.
Got to give it a chance to actually be worth my money first.

I just got finished mentioning in another thread that I've gotten about 20 Purple drops since they were introduced but I've only gotten 1 Respec recipe. I would support the theory they they are less likely to drop than at least some Purples.

At any rate I'm pretty sure no one will be able to get over 1200 verified badges until I20.

If you compare Primal characters versus Praetorian ones each side has a number of badges the other can't get that are roughly equal in number (for instance Praetorians can't get the first 6 anniversary badges). I'd be interested to see if anyone manages to break 1200 before I20 regardless.

My point was that people like you or I complaining about it is not going to stop it. I'm resigned that it's going to happen regardless.

If Lucas wants to jump in and try to at least make it look better than what other lesser people are going to come up with then that's better than nothing. If graves are going to be robbed then at least someone of the caliber of Lucas will be doing some of the robbing. I'd rather him do it than the folks over at SyFy for instance...
