Biggest differences IMO are the range of them...
Robots are primarily Ranged (long range at that)
Mercs Medium Range
Ninjas Short/Melee
Zombies Melee
That is of course not to say that they can't work outside those ranges but thats what the AI seems to prefer. -
What it says there, i need another one, the control build is to end hungry so i need to change everything again
On most days, but a message here is best. -
If you get feared, that can be nasty true, holds, slows, sleeps anything that stops you from clicking is the killer. And as most of them are sent by the defender or controller, thats why I hate them. Immobilize is piss easy to get out of providing you have TP, which is why TP is becoming something of a must have for PvP builds. But with only one toggle it takes me no time at all to be back to work.
-
But if you want real vilainy go with either a Orf or possibly a comb over, both are evil...

I have yet to use my pets on passive for anything other than the stay command, when I wnat them not to try and defend me
Or when very occasionally pulling a high level mob. I do have lost of binds though
Main ones I use would be attack and follow (heel) I also have goto and wait close at hand. In battle I pick every target, or just about, I find that this way I can encourage them to attack at once and quite often the alpha strike knocks the mob flying, depending on who is atacking me, they either themn move in or I switch them to the next target.
I find my pets especially now that they are fully slotted and above 32, will work best if I can get them into the open I then knock the enemies into walls over balconies etc. The worst problem I have with agro is Darkest night, when active it agroes surrounding mobs, if I forget to deactivate it on runners they can agro a huge amount before they get out of range -
I would say if the behemoths are spawning for the minions then its a bug, no other spawns are done on the number of pets, sometimes wish it could...

Speaking as a regen scrapper the only two ATs that I fear are Controllers and defenders. Sure others have killed me but only defenders and controllers make it possible. Tanks I hate but only because I don't do enough damge to hurts them, and they don't do enough to me, and taunt is horrible. Scrappers the same really. Blasters knock my one toggle off now and then, but as my best powers are now clickies I don't really care. As for the CoV ATs I have only really faced the stalkers, they only get me if I'm held for the follow up strike, yes two thirds of my health in one blow hurts but I can regen or click heal that away almost instantly.

Drop me from line up, managed to get it done tonight so, don't need it any more
Of course if you want to run with a big team and I'm around I'll come and help, SOs are not to be sniffed at. -
If when you hit forty you have spare slots then yes stick em in 5% is small but still better than nothing, otherwise don't bother, I'm sure you can find something else to stick the slots into

Going to respec into fearsome stare as it is part of the MindControl build... Oh I need to respec soooo bad.

Manuevers = Increased Damage Resistance (DEF?) might be +RES can never remember
Assault = Increased damage
Tactics = Increased accuracy.
First two are okay but if you can tactics is a good power to have. Don't bother with Vengance as it has no effect on pets dying.
Sorry just clarifying Dark_Seraphim's post. -
Count me in please, Schizopheniac (hmm can never remember the spelling :S) lvl33 Rob/Dark MM (will probably be 34/35 by friday!)
-
I have two ACCs in my battle drones, at lvl33 so SOs, they do miss but not often. I have one SO in tactics (well two one tohit one endrec) I find that more than adequate.
Oh and they're one level below you not two. -

As for MM's they are a momentary abberation and will soon pass as people realise that playing the game on auto pilot is no fun at all.

Speak for your self, I don't play on auto pilot, never have never will, Any one who thinks MMs can just sit back and rake in the XP ought to try it,s ure at low levels on easy its not difficult, but later on when the missions have multiple bosses and you no longer play at easies setting if you sit back you pets end up dead very quickly.
Just gone up against a Orange warshade in a mission, it was a boss. It killed every pet I had in one hit then tried to get me, thank god for TP and fly. I failed that mission (not sure it can be done) but most other ATs would have had of a problem, they have better defenses and attacks. -
Nowt wrong with th AI manily lots wrong with various MMs people seem to think that the AI should do all the work while they stay safe.

Hi, great program, going to have a longer play later on. Suggestions:
<ul type="square">[*]Chat options needs a [say]/[s] option, this sends text to currently selected channel.[*]There doesn't appear to be [$name] option, though I see the others. ($archetype etc)[*]You have text color, and background color, there is also an option for border color and various transparency options, games see it as: Red Green Blue Alpha RGBA taking decimal values 0-255. Futher there is an option to delay the text bubble so it remains onscreen for longer, <duration x> where x equals time in seconds.[/list]I have a fairly complete list of binds and emotes, here! I'd be happy to host the program there too with an english language page if that seems a good idea to you.
I'd also ask a moderator to either move or copy this thread into the guides thread, as it has perhaps more relevance there. -

Actually, I find Group fly very usefull in many cases. Not for transporting minions over larger distances, but for catching flyers in missions, getting up from caves where the pet's can't find their way around, in many CoT or Tsoo missions it's needed.
So all in all a great skill, if used properly
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been in both situations, however I find that Gfly has no real advantage, flyers I have ranged attacks (well pets do) if they get out of range thats okay gives me more time to recharge powers, in CoT caves and I know the room you're thinking of,Man I hate that room, even with my less than nimble Assault Bot as long as I keep them in a group and I know the way up we do fine, only problem comes when I fly/jump up bits that they can't.
However I suspect both these points are down in part to play style, but mainly I have mainly ranged pets, while you have mainly melee pets, plus my battle drones come with SJ.
Each to their own I suppose.
OTOH TP Friend(Recal) is very good when a pet gets stuck in the scenery, especially if its the one that you've double buffed. -
Thing with battle bots is I'd either split them 3x ACC 3x DMG or do 2xACC 3xDMG, I'm sure you can find a better use for the slot that you urrently have a DMG in, sure at the moment with DOs/TOs you get a boost but you're starting to get, or should be, SOs so 4x Slots of damage is only marginally better than 3x. Personally I find 2x ACC 3x DMG is fine, I don't need anything better, I have the knockback because I have no other knockback power.
-
Wouldn't bother with 5x DMG in battle drones, put it to 3x dmg 2x acc and 1x knockback, sure it means you have to move more but with tactics/assault making up the difference in slots you have better luck at keeping pets upright. I'd also recommmend either taking fitness or dropping some more end reds into powers like tactics, I think the FF has less toggles than dark but I'd be surprised if you can keep up your buffing with so fw end reds in you current toggles. Tactics I do as 2x end red 2x tohit

Brilliant...
You are missing the point, my orginal reply was to the question that the OP expects MMs to be nerfed, Kinslayer thinks they are very over powered now, if the devs think this too then a properly slotted MM won't be ripping through mobs they be without much hope.
I agree with you 100% I love my MM but if it gets a nerf for being able to rip through mobs like hot knife through butter then I want them to nerf XP gain first not actual pets or powers.
Argue away if you must but I'm on your side already, I don't want us to be nerfed at all, but if we are, what would you prefer to lose, pets and powers or a bit of XP? -
My hope is that rather than reducing my damage output or reducing number of pets, or in someway changing the way I play. For instance making it too long to buff a team of pets. They reduce the XP gained so slowing my leveling speed.
Looking at the previous AT nerfs they have nearly al be designed to slow leveling down, rducing XP gained from pets would do this without actually reducing the effectiveness of said pets.
If they have to nerf MMs then XP is the best option, or would you rather have less pets? -
I think the suggestion to reduce the XP gained from the pet kills is a good idea.
Look at my pets, yeah they're so... no they all died, why? Five yellow mobs and a red boss wiped out the entire team including me. I have no defenses or attacks but my pets, if I lose them or their power I become useless and I can just imagine the queues of people wanting to team with me then. -
either respec, prefer 2nd one, but not bothered.
Lvl32 rob/dark MM Schizophreniac
Today or tomorrow is ideal.
