is there a guide or list anywhere that shows macro's and their uses, with a breakdown of what each part of the macro does...? love to start using them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Try looking through some of these (in second part of the post):

Need 2x runs of this respec, one for my blaster and one for my controller. Should be on most of the afternoon, contact me on @Lost Ninja & @Bad Cop (don't know who I will be on). Can do either respec trial on either character but really dislike the Sky Raider trial. (Too many bad memories
).
Off-line as of 5.30pm, back later in the evening. -
If you want a non-farming team, create a damn team, its not difficult anyone can do it. In fact lots of people do, I do and I hate leading teams. There are plenty of people who like playing the game because they like playing the game not because they want to make X XP/Prestige/Inf and hour.
I getting a little sick of the mind set that seems to think that everything should be provided for you and if it isn't then people who aren't doing what you want should be nerfed. I have spent quite a bit of time in Peregrin recently as I have two mid forty characters who need to get to fifty just like everyone else. Even if everyone else in the zone is farming they aren't actually doing me any harm, why the hell should I expect them to have their enjoyment ruined because I'm not teaming with them.
That seems to be the new mantra, if I don't like something I want to force everyone else out of the game.

Nova is the single most devastating pbaoe in the game; I think to have an energy blaster and not use it is a waste With IO's you can pad out the damage buff and add more damage procs. Coupled with hasten and global recharge you can nuke every 60 seconds.
For endurance after nova pop a blue then Conserve, Forces or Geas.
With a high enough global recharge, conserve or forces will be up when nova is ready.
[/ QUOTE ]
I primarily solo my blaster, or have from 1-40, I tried Nova and found unless I was in a team or the mobs were a lower level than me a Nova was rapidly followed by a death. For that reason I don't have it in my build. Once I get another respec and have chance to change my build I'll get it back, partly as I now need to team far more and partly as I do team far more
But then I'm Nrg/Dev and Nova without BU is not really an 'I-Win' button that it is to an Nrg/Nrg. -
I made a Fire/Kin ages ago, long before i9 anyway, but never really got far. I made the mind/rads as an exercise just to see what they would play like, and have found that its actually a great deal of fun. I fully plan on trying a pair of fire/rad in the near future but probably not until i12 and some extra slots come along. The Grav/Rads are queued for deletion as while they do do a lot of ST damage they die far too quickly and are very slow in combat even with stacked AM.
-
Ah see the question...
What Shadowe said then basically. I use Torrent and EB for knockdown too, I also have Power Puch to knock the bosses down. -
Uh apart from the knock back which is present in most of the Energy attacks I wasn't aware it had any downsides. TBH I much prefer this to Nova. Looking at Mids and taking these attacks without any other buffs: (In DPS / No enhancements.)
Power Bolt - 9.27
Power Blast - 9.43
Energy Torrent - 4.08
Power Burst - 9.82
Sniper Blast - 9.4
Explosive Blast - 2.83
Nova - 0.54
Should point out I dislike Nova not because of anything here, but due to the endurance thing solo it can be a pain.
Might be a bit different when you have to slot secondaries too. But I definitely be planning on slotting Explosive Blast unless I'm playing as a Blapper -
Is this Soul Domination or Soul Control though?
IMO with the name Soul Control it should be a hero powerset at which point references to Ghost Widow are bad... It does sound good as a domination powerset though. Though I dislike both pets (imps and other thing...)
IMO it should be (for hero control) a cross between a bone-daddy (mainly powers) and those spectral demon things (mainly look) add to that a PBAoE fear (low mag) and a accuracy debuff. Essentially a mixture of range and melee with some light control. And only be available from the corpse of an enemy, but not gain power from more powerful enemies. -
Lost Ninja - Best name ever...
Bad Cop - One half of an old pair, good cop was Kin/Nrg bad cop was kin/dark... I deleted Good Cop sometime ago.
Polyphemus - The name of the cyclops in greek mythology, and a way round the ban on copying marvel characters... though she is female and doesn't shoot lasers from her eyes...
Pyroclastic Flower - Pyroclastic Flow was taken.
Facilitator - Uh she facilitates things with a dirty great sword.
Heavy Weather - Ice/Kin Ice = Weather / Kin = Energy which could be kinetic energy, kinetic energy is what gavity is, sort of, i think.
Em Ission - Emission Mind/Rad
Ema Nation - Emanation Mind/Rad
Heavy Messing - Was a gravity controler.
Zero Slipstream
Heavy Illumination - Gravity/Rad
High-Psi - Mind/Mind
Names are all well and good, what drives me to distraction is the people who don't capitalise their names... it looks [censored]. -
I should have made my initial query more firm. When I said no pets I had forgotten Ill pets and was meaning the level 32 pets that all but mind get.
-
From experience of my two teams.
Mind is lower damage overall for instance propel in gravity at 14 does as much damage as lift in mind does at 20 (Against CoT). However Mind is far safer as the AoE sleep means that in general the mob I'm fighting is unaware for most of the fight. Gravity as noted does better damage but I also take more damage due to the lack of a low level sleep/hold/stun AoE...
However the amount of junk I get left lying around the map with 2x Propel... -
I get magic desks.... had quite a bit of fun with them a few nights ago and ended up with stacked databases.... four against one wall two above the others.
However what is a magic door and how do I create one? -
Thanks for the advice all. Hmm now I really am confused... wanted a Dark/ tank becuase I like the idea of it... but I want a anti-rikti themed tank too and I really don't want to make two... might make one now and another when i12 hits and see how that goes.
Any of the Tank secondaries besides Dual Blades get any funky Rikti/Vanguard style weapons? -
I have hover now and only get knocked back/down when I'm detoggled which is becoming frustratingly
common since I hit 40+. And I could always slot a knockback protection IO into hover, though I'm saving them for my Dark/ tank, and they do cost an awful lot.
As for Inf I have a fair amount and some of the IOs already plus recipes and salvage for some of the rest... besides I still have seven levels to get more. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why put the +stealth in hover? Would be more useful to have one in sprint.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mainly as I have a +stealth for fly and not for run, and they cost a fortune. Besides I never thought of dropping it into sprint.
[ QUOTE ]
Are you actually planning to use TI or FoN? The slotting pretty much sucks.
[/ QUOTE ]
No idea TBH, only just hit 43 and have yet to use (or know anyone who uses) them, only reason I maxed out slotting on FoN was for the recharge on six slots. I have tried repulsion field and even with 2x END Rdx in it I run out of end far too quickly for it to be anything more than a fun power. I do want the PFF though, what would you suggest? -
This is what I want to work toward on my blaster I think. The exact levels of powers are not too important as I will re-arrange them when I actually have a respec to use and have tested the basic build on the test server. I tend to play at point blank range hovering after my foes as I knock them ever further away. I solo happily on Rugged and team at any setting. I thematically think of my blaster as a sort of heroic stalker or perhaps an energy ninja. I use very little of my secondary and while some of the time I really wish I had rolled Nrg/Nrg (or anythig but /Dev) I'm over all happy with the stealth part of my build.

I already have some of the enhancements squirrelled away so unless there is a glaring error in what I have I think the actual sets will do me fine.
Does anyone care to comment? Glaring errors? Insanity? etc... -
I'm planning on rolling a tank in the not too distant future. Having attended several mothership raids and seeing my low survivability on my regen I'd like to create something that can tank rikti with ease. However I think that Rikti do lots of Psionics in their damage, so what would the best tank for rikti be? I looked at all the sets using Mids, and only Stone/(without granite) and WP/ seem to have any decent psionic resistance/defence.
Is stone without Granite feasible to tank EB/GM/AV rikti?
Same for WP?
Or would I be better waiting for i12 and make a dark tank with high psionic resistance?
Or am I missing something? -
Because I wanted to know which does most damage from the controls rather than who has the better pets. Which I suspect is fire anyway, with FS my Imps do insane damage. I hoped that the lack of pets would bring fire out of it 1st place slot for one of the other primaries.
-
Dislike bumpage, however I still need at least one run of this, anyone out there looking for 2nd respec? (Can do 1st but prefer freaks to Skyraiders.)
-
I have a fire/kin at 40+ who I like playing (non-farmer), and a pair of mind/rad at 20+ and a pair of grav/rad at 14... I wanted to make a pair of ???/Rad to play for all out damage, because its a duo it plays quite differently from a solo character so I'd prefer to steer clear from fire... but with more character slots...
Or I could play on Union, but then I have no resources.
I'll have to see. -

Some of the origin temp powers seem to set up containment better than others. I think only natural doesn't have some mild mez built in.
[/ QUOTE ]
And hitting your first power twice (once for containment and mez, second time for damage and mez) will probably work out better damage per end.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if your ST mezzez aren't up? Or you're still only level one? I can get double damage off a weak power or a stronger power what would you suggest I do?
Personally I only ever pick mutation or technology as I like those two the most, but if you want a reason to pick different origins the above is as good a reason as any. -
Hmm didn't want to make another Fire/?
Oh well wait until i12 -

Mind truly rocks in small teams or solo where you can indicate quickly who you plan on sleeping. Big teams mean two of your control options are pointless (except for damage on the ST) and you will get the inevitable arguments about the confuse hurting peoples XP. Solo though you have in effect a AoE hold (sleep really) that sets up containment, it is only broken by damage (not sure about Kin debuffs) so you can debuff a slept mob to make the mobs around it more susceptible. Then proceed to tear apart the rest of the mob with your ST powers reapplying your AoE sleep as and when you need it.
I have a pair of Mind/Rads who I play together (dual-boxing) I seldom need the rad self heal because a)The mobs are fairly weak vs. psionics in general (you do have to pick your targets and b)most mobs are slept from the start and don't wake up until dead... well you know what I mean.I entertained the idea of creating two Mind/Sonics but with no self heal even the sonic buffs didn't make up for that IMO. Currently I have them at level 22, they outperform any other controller duo I have tried though my grav/rads look like they too will excel.
I personally don't like Sonic but of course if you do then that is fine. I tried a mind/sonic who I got to level 8, however solo most of the sonic powers are wasted as they are team buffs and with no self heal a lot of the time you will either need to team with someone who can heal or rely on inspirations. -
In the title...
But:
Not including external damage buffs.
Not including Pets
Not including buffs/debuffs from secondary.
