Being able to solo isn't that point, being able to solo effectively is the point.
I have largely soloed a blaster, a scrapper and a controller. Plus hordes of lesser alts who have yet to achieve greatness.
I don't much enjoy tanks as they really need something to do their damage though they are nigh unkillable. Of course at higher levels once they have taken their extra attacks they might be great... don't know my highest so far is 12.
Defenders are more fun in teams but it is perfectly possible to create an Offender, or with Dark/ to make something that is almost a controller.
My scrapper is DM/Regen, started not long before i4 so did experience Instant Healing as a toggle, uber, she could solo EBs though they were less prevelant in those days, the first I faced was Heracles the warrior EB in Striga, I wouldn't say the fight was easy but I did solo it. AVs not a chance now but I did solo several of the GMs before their code was changed, I almost soloed Lusca...
My controller was boring and slow until it got imps but rather amazing from then on, one or two mobs give her pause (Carnies mainly) and she can churn though groups that even my scrapper would struggle with, it is more of an involved playstyle as you are squishier thus need to be careful where you and those agro magnet imps are. (Fire/Kin BTW)
My blaster I can't speak of before 35 as I have no reccolection as to how I got her there, however after 35 she was insanely fun to level mainly solo. Nrg/Dev may not seem the ideal combination but I found very little I couldn't achieve with some forethough and occasionally practice... especially with the newest version of defiance which allows you to attack even when mezzed.
Of all the characters I have played to this point I think my scrapper was the easiest to just solo, she didn't need any help with anything upto the end game though now with the nerfs to Regen since I created her she isn't as powerful. Controller can solo very well but when it goes wrong, and it will, their much smaller HP pool means they die much much quicker.
To this point I have played a hero of each non-epic AT to at least 44 apart from a tank which as mention only to 12... -

I used to use it like that when I fist got it... I never needed 44 things to map (even in WoW)... besides I find wasd (or equivelent) much easier. -
My characters are all light on their spring assisted heels, however I like this suggestion.

All the Hero auctions are linked anyway as are the villains, so they don't need sorting.
I play on defiant, which I'm told is empty compared to Union, however I seldom have issues finding teams even at the times I play which if often late night early morning.
It would be quite nice to see PvP zones and the Arenas linked together but as for the rest I don't see it as a big issue. -

What does CoX have that no other MMOs have? Travel Powers, do you really think that given a choice between Super Speed or a fast camel anyone would bother with a fast camel?
I love my fast grey ram in WoW, but I'd bathe in its blood and sacrifice all the dwarven babies for super jump. -

I use a belkin nostromo (n52) instead of a standard keyboard, (two rows of five keys, four keys under those, and six thumb buttons. (Google it if you want a picture.)
Top five keys:
Target next, Target Nearest, Forward, Power Slot 7, Power Slot eight.
Next row:
Auto Run, Left, Backward, Right, Power slot 9.
Bottom Row:
CTRL, ALT, Down (in flight) Power slot 10.
Thumb buttons work out as the other Power slots (1-6). With the CTRL+ALT keys I can fire off thirty different powers with ease. Though I tend to click some (extra trays FTW).
I have used the inspiration binds/macros in the past, I tend to use them as macros rather than binds.
I have some complicated macros that allow me to set who I'm following and who is recipient of speed boost etc but thats more for multi-boxing than normal play. -

I know Tainted Greek is odd but employing a PR company to send random people stuff seems a little too odd. -
If you have the Pocket D teleporter (free power with the Good vs Evil package) that will also sometimes re-sync you. Essentially you need to use some form of teleportation power to get a resync, though as mentioned it doesn't always work.

So have it as an option, if you're recruiting you can have a message on the SG registry board with your contact details etc. And if you're not recruiting you can switch it off. Its pretty much how the corp recruitment works in EVE, though with more griefing.
Sending emails to entire SG would be very handy, less so to entire friends lists, I'm sure i'm not the only one who has friends on their lists they have no idea who they are. -
It has already been stated on numerous occasions by GR that image signatures won't happen, ever. (Apparently a moderator decision... so we shouldn't even be discussing it.
).
As for licensing the new software, what so ever it might be, I suspect that most forum software around these days can be licensed for corporate use. eg I know of at least one for profit organisation that run phpBB forums. Whatever we get, providing it isn't UBB, is likely to be a lot better than UBB... after-all can anything not written by me be worse?
Avatars are fine as they are, any bigger and they'd take up too much space on the screen.
As for images in posts, I could see the reason for not allowing them, but then I also can see how they can improve the place, especially when connected to a good software solution that automatically inserts the image as a clickable thumb nail... as for 'tasteless' images are they any worse than a tasteless sig/avatar/post/name...? -

But hey, look at Corruptors. Virtually the same AT as a MM powerset-wise, only with no pets (and therefore no BG mode). In return, more/stronger attacks. Try one of those if you haven't already.

Its odd really, I played a MM in the beta got to 40 with the level bump. I played a MM to 40 ish in live then went on sabbatical, since I returned I just cannot play her for more than an hour or so without getting to the point where I just want to delete her entirely.
Partly its down to the summoning and buffing (especially if you only realise you have the desync bug after you did that).Partly its the downright awful AI, it seems like it got downgraded while I was away, but is more likely my own poor memories. However with the massive amount of damage effects (Fire Patches, Caltrops, Monkey Farts, etc) in the late game I spend more time dying as a result of the pets going berserk than I do killing stuff (it seems).
I'm at 47 now and I know once I hit fifty I will never play her again,planning on getting a name change then and reusing the name with a character that is actually fun all the way to fifty not just when I don't have to fight the AI of the pets at every step.

[/ QUOTE ]You can't expect an AT to have no inherent intended weakness to it. That's like expecting a Blaster to take hits as well as a Scrapper because you're not as useful when you faceplant.

But surely my weakness' is the fact that without pets I have no damage or resilience (as in I die easily). A tank gets a nice amount of hit points so that without its toggles it might be much weaker but it still is able. A blaster does have much lower HP than a tank or scrapper but gets much better damage (not to mention defiance)... A MM gets pets, low damage, low HP... And even then I have to summon and buff before I get anywhere, that to me is more of hindrance than any of the others get.
But anyway I hate my MM so much now even if they did this I wouldn't start liking her again. -

Besides the bodygaurd option is not so easy to get them into. Someone had to explain to me what macro I had to use to activate those (and i think i lost that piece of paper since). Would be much easier if there was a button to make them do this since the cease to attack button is not the same thing.

No-one minds if you start off with a bestial head and monstrous legs but have a costume that doesn't have either, why is this any different? As for immersion please dear god remove the chest slider. -

I'm expected to do a good job as soon as I enter a mission even though with no pets I'm terminally squishy, have no damage and while I am dark my usefulness to the team in that state is minimal.
