  1. Two Tribes - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
    Suburbia - Pet Shop Boys

Both instantly make me think of CoH.
  2. Lost Ninja

    Null and void.

I play a pair of Fire/Kins... so no.

On the other hand I have been known to use them in farming missions.
  3. Build export button... like the GW build code, and a API so people who make things for COH eg Mids can use the code to recreate a build directly in their planners. Also you could be able to send you build to a friend in game so they can see what you are.

I understand and agree with the lets avoid the same look syndrome. Even though I like the idea of vanguard clad heroes beating up rikti or Roman clad heroes beating up Romulus. But apart from a few exceptions I like to have everyone look diferent.

Therefore my idea was to slot them just like you slot a power. Problem with look alike solved. Game mechanics nice and familiar. But with the added benefit of having a costume set tailor fitted to a specific purpose.

Would the naysayers still be so firm on their vote if they implemented it like this?

    Socketed items in WoW/Diablo?

I can see the advantages of going down the itemization route... I play WoW, but its one of the nice things about CoH, I don't need the armour of uberness +666 to play.
  5. Make the give macro function actually work.

Chat Timestamps in game, optional of course. Sick and tired of coming back to my machine to see messages that I don't know when they were sent.

If I go AFK in a mission I don't want to be logged out... I do want the game after a while to set me to AFK

Allow us to use crafting stations to break unslotted IO's back into their component parts, for the same cost as crafting them?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Would prefer a 'Break Enhancment' skill/thing/button that broke the IO/SO/DO/TO/etcO into component parts the better the enhancement the higher the chance to get good salvage.

Add NPCs that buy IOs and sell them back to players, but they can only sell what they have bought (see Rune Trader/Dye Traders in GW).

Make it so I can sell a whole stack of something if I want, enough with hammering the sell button.

True, in fact you could say that they are pretty much any of the origins... not hard to come up with a back story of how a rogue scientist grafted horns onto your head and set you on fire... only your amazing regnerative powers keeping you alive.

    Deceive

Ahhh this one. Well this is really personal opnion. If you a CoX version of Jedi Mind Trick, this is it. It allows them to attack other enemies, which is useful for getting Minions and stuff to attack AVs. Unfortunately, Bosses+ won't get the effect, so Minions and Lts you can only use it on. Also, you won't get any XP for a enemy defeated using Deceive, so don't do it when a AVs on low health! Overall, it's personal opnion. Some think it's a waste of time. Well personally it will be useful in low levels but high levels you'll leave it out. I took it and used it in low levels, I don't use it any more, but it's still on my build for fun if I want to deceive a Hellion.
    Rating: 3/5

    [/ QUOTE ]
Completely and utterly wrong. An enemy defeated by a deceived mob plus you will give you quite a lot of the XP. I suggest you read up on it before posting incorrect information about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Last I heard, Deceive was stackable on Bosses. The line about Bosses not being able to be Deceived... is a lie. Even Elite Bosses can be Deceived with enough applications.

Maybe Guide Writing just isn't your thing...

    [/ QUOTE ]
I have a pair of Mind/Rads, I use confuse a lot... most mobs! I have successfully confused everything I have faced upto and including AVs. AFAIK Confuse and Decieve are the same power (just in different sets).

heh, one problem, the models are pretty square and the machine is without color.
this is sorta the effect you get:
    http://www.3d-canvas.com/3dc-tutorial-01/pic08.gif
not something you want on your desk....

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've seen the results of some tests that a guy who posts on another forum I read did when he was looking for an investment. He was looking at making WoW figurines and while its true the machine only produce a single colour object its not outside the bounds of possibility to paint them or even have them painted in a separate process.

Some of the WoW miniatures I have seen made with this sort of system are amazing in detail and look. And while the character detail in WoW and CoH are different there is no technical reason that the 3d data in CoH couldn't be turned into solids... as mentioned it will be for copyright issues that it won't happen.

    1. this might be handy a menu that opens in WW with all your saleable items which you can click to add or add all.
    2. WW already contains a search engine, whats wrong with that?

    [/ QUOTE ]
2 Was a search option for storage items in the base not the auction house itself.

    Laptops...

Recently I inherited a small amount of cash from from Grandfather, there are several things I plan on buying with the money one of which is a laptop.

Is it likely that I will be able to find a laptop for under £500 that will play CoH/EVE/GW/WoW etc? Not especially interested in looks (graphics) merely to be able to get in game for idle half hours in my local connected cafe. So having minimum graphics isn't an issue.

If it is a possibility what sort of graphics chip set should I be looking at?

Any suggestions would also be handy.

that is the point the Regenrationrate is not higher than the rate of a stone tank
damn my Regen is about 60hp/s not only 28hp/s without DP&IH
    bad slotet regenskills...on and on

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just done a couple of builds and TBH I'd have to throw out too much utility to get that sort of regen. (slight exageration true...) Particularly slotting powers that don't need over slotting just to up my max health... looking at your last posted build it still didn't look like that but you know I'm a scrapper I'd much prefer to put extra damage or slots and even procs in my attacks rather than dumping six slots into stamina or QR. Neither of which truly benefit, costs more and mean other more worthy powers are left short. Me I'd prefer to do more damage and kill the mob faster than have better regen so it won't matter when the mob hits me...

Thing here is OPs build goes down one line, that of max recharge, yours goes down the line of max regen, mine will be somewhere in the middle. A reference build I found on the US forums was down the line of maximum recovery. None is wrong its just down to personal preference.
  12. And +ACC IOs for the heal sets!

Never understood why sets only have a max of six IOs. Sure you can't slot more than six of a set but for many lesser use sets a couple of additional versions of the IOs (eg: +ACC in heal) would be great, those that need the extra IO types can use them but you'd still only have the max six slots.
  13. I just want a plush Greater Devoured, cutest monster in the game IMO.

But yeah some form of export for 3D modelling hell even if it was a propriatry format and NCSoft made the models would be fine for me.

I like that idea(Lost Ninja's), maybe go to the Fateweaver/Hero Corps Field Analysis agent to change the diffi to that? =DI don't like the idea of half the rewards, even if it is for an accolade *Tries to hold back temptation*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Essentially the idea behind the rewards in my idea was that if you had a way to spawn much harder mobs, at the moment that would be a dream come true for farmers, we'd just find a mob type we could defeat easily and farm...

Bringing the potential rewards down to a level where it isn't cost/time effective to farm a mob is IMO a better idea than reducing the mob to too easy (see Family Farms) which does reduce the level of reward but also the difficulty. Bump prestige up so that there is still a tangible bonus even if it can't be traded off.
  17. 3 Things IMO.

1)Non-PvPing Badgers would kick off about badges being inaccessible.

2)It would potentially be possible to grind PvP badges with this by finding someone who will let you kill them over and over - see discussions regarding one of the villain badges now.

3)Elite PvPer would find ways to cheat or beat the system so that they get a ready supply of rare recipes.

So while I sort of like the idea it'd need work.

1st I'd make the board a weekly thing. Mainly because in a day period it would be easy to beat the system, while over a period of a week you would need to be good at PvP to make it work.

2nd I'd remove all but the collection badge (platinum) change the rest to titles that would only be active while you were in the position so if you were highest killer in all PC/RI you would have a title that only one person in the game could have. Which would give PvPers something to strive for... having a badge connected to how long you retain the unique title would be okay, the badge for overall killer would probably just from getting there but the zone/side killer titles would probably have to be retained for a while.

3rd Add a game play style that means you enter battle as part of a fixed team, like the 5 vs 5 Areana battles (or whatever they are) but make the team basis the SG. Then award titles for SG wins as above.

4th Add accolades that have only got PvP functions for attaining set titles. SGs would be able to earn these PvP accolades too and for them they'd get a base item to show off the prowess, base item would grant the bonus and it would apply to PvP with a much lower effect (10% of the PvP bonus) in PvE.

5th Retain the board idea, and have it semi live so you can see where you are on the board, who is in the lead. At the end of the week it would update to show the new leaders etc. Could even attach a bounty system similar to sirens Call to it where the previous weeks winners attract a better reward for being killed than normal players.

you would make no money that way... only the money from the loosing betters would come to you, so the total net gain would be 0 under TG's set up, if no one bet on the loss there woudl be no money to win... there is no bookie offering odds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, they split half betting on me, half on my opponent

    [/ QUOTE ]

net gain, if everyone was betting the same amount... zero

The point is there are no odds, no extra inf is coming from anywhere; the only inf involved is the inf the players are putting in themselves.

I bet 1 inf on each of two combatants no matter who wins I come out with 2 inf. The same 2 inf that I spent on the bets.

Does that help make it any clearer?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So what's the point of betting if you don't actually increase the money you bet?

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you have a large enough pool of players betting and perhaps with TG's other suggested changes to PvP you might well have, then if the pot was say 100 million inf on one fight you could possibly make quite a bit of Inf from Gambling.

Okay Sry - so let me say it this way - what is ur secondary ? Nothing oder Regeneration?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Its not my own cup of tea, apart from costing far too much but I don't see a great deal wrong with it... no what I do see wrong is just down to personal choice, I'd prefer to max regen/recovery/recharge rather than just recharge.

So specifically what do you see wrong with it?
  22. Lost Ninja

    Hardcore Weekend

Prefer to see a hard mode added, similar to the GW hard mode. When you have achieved a certain set of awards, completed a certain set of missions you can select Hard Mode in your options. Once you do all of the above is activated... or 1/2 XP/Inf 2x Prestige & normal drop rates. Mobs are three times as hard: they have much more health/end, hit harder and have a greater resistance to damage. (same defense) plus whatever weaknesses they have are greater so it would be important to have teams that had a spread of damage type. All missions are activate through Orubous and special zone contacts (for missions set in each zone). People who hadn't unlocked hard mode couldn't team with those who had.

Greek & Roman mythology has always provided half the storylines for modern tales of heroism. At least cimerora seems to be taking us closer to the well of furies and the established backstory of CoX rather than being a total rush thrown together since one of the devs got 300 on DVD...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Emphasis mine, but that's a really good point and one I'd not considered. I also noticed yesterday that there's a whole shipyard out of range in there presumably available for future forays

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think, could b wrong, that the ship yard is somewhere you see when completing all the cimeroa content.

Oh and BTW what is 300?
  24. [ QUOTE ]
My idea would be something like:

    I13: Ragnarok
The promised Coming Storm is here, and the fate of not merely civilisation but the Earth - all the Earths - hangs in the balance. Hero, villain, humans and aliens must band together to fight a new, seemingly unstoppable threat...

    - Shivan invasions... and worse things.

    - Unified world: players can roll any class of toon and start either in Paragon or the Rogue Isles, but can travel freely between the two.

    - How people react to you is based on a "Light Side/Dark Side" meter, and uses the new branching dialogue system. Do good deeds, you get access to more Hero contacts. Do bad things, you lose access to them but gain more Villainous contacts (and the PPD start shooting at you). Also your adoring public react with shock and confusion at your switch to evil/good. Some arcs should require both to complete.

    - Rikti toons

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Oh God yes please.
