And I found jinx... which doesn't have the design I remember so I'm not sure that is the site I was remembering.
  2. Only if you have a US account, as he'll be logging into the US test server not the EU one.

    Sadly I couldn't being a FF/Nrg defender.

    Clothing....

While I would love to acquire some spandex in the style of my heroines that isn't exactly what I'm after.

What I am after is a website that I have visited in the past that has a whole load of clothes with gaming motifs, web memes and other things of similar nature.

Birthday soon and I want a really heavy weight hoody with a nice design. (In Spandex )

    Any ideas?

The downside is that in terms of variety of missions we have seen everything there is to see, its not impossible but highly likely players will not be able to come up with a radically new challenge...

    [/ QUOTE ]
I disagree, I can think of at least one scenario that I have yet to see in game. (This game at any rate.)

I won't outline it here as it will be the first mission arc I try and create

Farming: There are already an abundance of boring repetitive farming missions that I can do now. My lvl50 however only has paper missions left to do. I'm certainly looking forward to having some 'content' for her to do.

Personal Idea would be for each mission/arc to be a script that can either be created offline, or at least be saved offline so that we can share missions far easier than having them online only. The added advantage to that is that providing the scrip is not encrypted it can be edied by tools other than those provided. The users might not create their own tools which provide greater control but if they have the option they might. Having the scripts stored locally won't change the quality control one iota as they'll still need to be interpreted by the game. And AFAIK the missions in game now are stored in text files.

    i13 Architect

I'm guessing that the merit system will be like the various items (coins, marks... etc) you can earn and trade in for rewards in WoW, a system that does seem to work allowing both HC and casuals to earn decent rewards. I would however like to see a partial merit system where fractions of merits can be earned from completing normal mission arcs and/or defeating extra hard enemies (EB/AV in story missions).

For the rest I'm looking forward to it all apart from the expensive jet pack.

Not the I think either the jet pack or the cyborg pack are part of i13... IMO they should have announced them separately.

    Forum Titles...

Suggestion for the new forums (if they ever arrive).

Instead of having an arbitrarily assigned forum title. Have an option in your control panel that allows you to use any earned title.

So you would have a list of titles earned through post count, any special competition/event earned titles and could pick the one that suited your mood or how you see yourself.

((Suggested as I really don't want to become renowned when I hit the next post rank, I wish to remain Legend.))

    right, indeed
    and for a single command, u don't need the " 's

    [/ QUOTE ]

'Tis true of course, however it is needed with more complex commands and using it always when describing how to do it for people who don't know, means that there are less chances of confusion later on.
  10. A better line needs to be drawn.

Before the current restrictions Trial accounts were too abusable. Now however they offer so little that you can actually try out that they can't be much encouragement to potential players.
  11. But to make it work you would:

    /bind <key> "loc"

You don't need the leading slash in binds...
  12. A different game. CoH as it stands isn't worth £12, and to get the game up to that sort of quality is more a new game than an upgrade.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
...and about the only thing they are going to bother with is a new product.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not entirely true, retailers stock what people want to buy generally that is new products, but see the amount of shelf space still taken up by WoW. Admittedly there is a newish WoW battle chest on offer. (The equivalent of Good vs Evil.)

Trial Disks won't go on the shelf for 2 reasons. 1)Trials never sell well, especially as you can get the same product for free online, thus the actual customers asking for it will be limited. 2)There is no guarantee that said customer will actually come back, most will purchase online, and I'm betting there is no incentive for retailers to sell the disks, if they got an extra 10% per online registration, similar to an affiliates package (which EVE does do) they might at least grant some space even if its like a box on the counter.

IMO CoX does need a new expansion, release... whatever. Perhaps a 2nd collectors edition, which would be DVDs with all updates to date, CoH/CoV updated manual, some artwork books (the CoV artwork book was very nice) and either some collectors costume parts or some of those stupid heroclix things. Pitch it at the £20 mark and have it come with a months play time and a buddy code. Sorted.

I'd buy it just to have the updates.

1)Players that moan about people moaning about PvP.
    [ QUOTE ]
    3. Players that moan about PvP (I'd remove them in an instant) It makes the game less fun and tedious listening to the anti-PvP rants on and off the game, if they don't like PvP they should go and play Pac Man (as someone "suggested" on arena yesterday

    [/ QUOTE ]
2)Players that make illogical suggestions because what they like is best.
3)Lack of market dynamics in the AH, the only way to bring prices down is to make this closed bidding system open. See how much people are selling for and then buy at that price. Rather than just bidding some random value. WoW isn't all that, but the AH does work well.

Hero respec is too easy now...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Presumably because you know how to handle it nowadays.

Borked builds should set the baseline of a respec difficulty, IMO. Not those who already know how to handle the things.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think its just easier, certainly I can complete it with a borked character in a PuG with ease. And the only issue now is waiting around for more things to kill.
  16. Hero respec is too easy now... in the old days it was too hard especially for those who actually needed the respec. My first scrapper a very poorly built Dark/Dark scrapper did it an estimated 30 times and failed each time. Now it is a little easy.

It never ceases to amaze me how the human mind works. What we have here is a marketing survey with a range of hypothetical game features each described in just a (relative) handful of words. How anyone can argue so vehemently on a positive or negative viewpoint of the impact of any of these hypothetical features on the game, at this stage, boggles my mind.

It's a survey. The point is to gather information based on what is asked in the survey. Not what the survey taker assumes/fears/hopes might happen (either positive or negative). Having said that, though, the discussion here has been interesting to read during my days off .

    [/ QUOTE ]
True but got to say if there is even the slighest chance of content like this being added, I'd much prefer people jump around discussing it, at least then the devs know we are enthused by it. If everyone just turned round and ignored it the chances of it being added are far slimmer. IMO.
  18. I have been wanting (pushing?) for Going Rogue ever since I played the CoV beta (EU), at one point it was my only reason to return (but CoX is still better than WoW ). I have always preferred the good vs evil character selection, everyone starts off the same and becomes who they are through their actions/inactions.

As such if such a system were to be added to CoX I'm thinking that it is such a fundamental change it would almost have to be CoH2 rather than i15 (or something). You'd need two or more bottom level zones, the current starting zones don't offer enough choice to make anything of, I'd say two zones from 1-15. Each would need 20-30 contacts based on level, origin and eventually alignment.

The rest of the game would be much the same but with the addition of various contacts that give neutral missions, no idea how they'd work, probably on the lines of the current paper missions. Hopefully any time you move from good to evil or back you get the point where you cannot talk to the contacts that will allow you to become good with the original side and have to use the neutral contacts to do missions that raise your good/bad standings.

As for the heroes and villains that hold true to their side, personally I'd expect its only them that unlock the spying type missions. They are held in great esteem by their respective bosses, and when they fall from grace they do so with their superior's full support so that they can work behind the lines.

Ultimately a 'Moral Compass' added to the game would give it something that IMO all MMOs currently lack, I don't know if CO or DCO is planning a similar system, though IIRC CO is not planning on shipping with villains so probably not. WoW does do something similar with the Aldor/Scryer faction grinds, but as this is more of an addon to the basic experience its not what might be called essential.

Still as mentioned I'd be happy to pay for full game cost expansion/stand alone boxes that include this functionality (even if it is markedly different from what I said above thats just how I'd do it).

  20. Oddly I haven't read the entire thread... mainly as the page count goes up between one page and the next.

    For me...

With the new (proposed) content call it CoH2 and release as a full standalone. Not an expansion.

Any which way I'd pay full game price to play what the OP posted! (x2 or however many accounts I have when and if this finally arrives.)
  21. Lost Ninja

    vanguard EAT

Might be nice to see as a rework of the APP idea rather than a full EAT system. Give four specialisations that you can unlock at 30, each then makes your character into a Vanguard Recruit for 5-10 levels, with powers based on your original AT rather than completely standalone. At 40 you get to do another mission chain the either lets you leave the vanguard as unsuitable (hero) get kicked out as ne'er do well (villain) or given a new vanguard rank. From then on you get specific vanguard missions, arcs opening at 40, 45 and 50. Bonus fighting Rikti (probably similar to the Accolade) and a new set of vanguard costume parts.

The above (OP) specialisations would need the magic using sorcerer type added but would be what you end up as rather than start out as.

    IMO Anyway.

And if you're going to run around in tights in RL, then make them black - they go with anything, formal or informal.

You mean they do other colours apart from black

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, yeah - but they don't go so well with everything - which is why I recommended black

    [/ QUOTE ]

White is okay too, but it makes you look fat. Black is very slimming on the legs.

Think their loss is a tad more than yours, but it proves a point in mmo games.

That was so very mean - but also slightly awesome the way they did it as a roleplay the whole time

[/ QUOTE ]but that Guiding Hand Social Club does that near every other month because the GM there say "it withing Game mechicans and if you don't like there are other mmorpg out there if you don't like the rule". plus i think Guiding Hand Social Club either got ther own like thread or they post alot of these tactics on poor Victim they smash or rune.

the only rule here that i can suggest is to lock it up tight anddon't let anyone bully you around with i wnt to do this this and this. Set up rule and if hey don't like tell them to go seek employment else where

Comparing EvE with CoH is pointless, in terms of method or application EvE is far superior to anything CoH will ever be... luckily CoH wins hands down for pure fun.
