  1. All I hope is that Day Jobs come with their own costume slot, while I would be lying if I said that all my five slots were in constant use, I want more.

Agree - though the problem may be that they've decided that to start the pact both parties are reset to the lower of the 2 characters.

Would a level 35 really want to be dropped to a level 30 to form a pact?

    Most wouldn't.

And no matter how many warnings were put up before joining a pact, someone at a high level would join one and lose 3 or 4 levels and then try to complain like mad... I'd guess that they don't need the grief.

It wouldn't help your 30+ characters, but I'd have thought that letting pacts form between characters within 4 levels of each other up to somewhere between 10 and 15 wouldn't cause too much worry for players. Nor would allowing higher levels if they start at the same level - would anyone really get upset at losing <1 level of high level xp when joining a pact?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Hell even if it was only characters within 2 levels of one another would be fine, its the fact its being limited to sub level 5 characters that is annoying.

and because folks want a second job? I remember being very interested in the player based power structure, then discovered the massive investment of time the game would need.

I know of several people who play or played EVE especially because they enjoyed the business management aspect, now they could be the only ones but having looked around they aren't.

Now me personally I'm not a huge fan of EVE, mainly as I play games for fun and EVE is far too much work. I like the idea far more than the reality.

CO is a potential replacement for CoX, as such it is much more serious competition than WAR or WoW. I doubt I'd drop my CoX subscription again for either WAR or WoW, but I might drop it for CO since if it is a better game (big if), I'm not going to pay for two superhero MMOs long term.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    My point better put.

    Thx...

EVE Succeeds because it has a high level of reality, that isn't to say that space ships are real and stuff but the fact that you can be a business executive or a pirate or a corporate spy and stay within the rules.

TR doesn't because while it is sci-fi it isn't anything new, its an MMO that just happens to have a sci-fi front end, on top of which it tries too hard to be something for everyone. Something that EVE and other well subscribed MMOs don't IMO.

Whether you love or loath WoW it is a good example of a well made MMO, it has something for most (not all) people; you can RP, PvP, PvE, Raid and that's just the actual game. It has a large community and within certain aspects of that community the community is even friendly and well spoken. EVE and CoX both have that though IMO CoX needs more out of game experience stuff to be truly great.

By that I'm referring to the UI/Lua scripting community, WoW's Armoury, EVE's API which allows a lot of out of game functionality. If you encourage people to hang around even when they aren't in game then IMO half of your battle for repeat subscriptions is won already.

    Levelling Pact

So basically if I use my 40+, or 45+, to form a Pact with a level 1, would that level 1 will be spliting and hence gaining the exp at 40+? If it is so, that is not extreme sidekicking, that is extreme power levelling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, this won't be possible. You can only form a Pact with characters of level 5 or lower.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not a lot of use then is it? I mean one of my duos is IRO 34-35 and another is level 8, so this system will have no purpose until I start another duo.

Now if it was within 5 levels of each other it would have more use and be better IMO.

Because if people dont bother reading the creative forums, then are they really going to bother with reading peoples storylines?

Another example is the "chatterbox" in LGTF, everyone just says wish she would shut up rather than reading her chatter.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I hardly ever read the creative forums, yet I still enjoy reading stories. Including in game stories, personally I don't see the connection.

    Vista Question

Surprised that any Radeon owners get that error as its a dll that is part of the Nvidia driver that hangs.
  8. Aye QR

Other thread after I did this one though.

Hand to hand IMO means hand weapons not specifically fists/feet, as in 'after shooting at one another the two sides closed in and went at each other with bayonets fixed, soon a grand melee was formed...'
  9. Even if the entire player base left to play WAR right this minute it will be some time before the subs actually changed anyway. And the Devs have no way of working out if the reason no-one is online at this point due to a new game, a football match or something else.

Besides WAR is a completely different game, leave WoW for WAR sure, but CoH for WAR unless you're going to leave for anything is daft.

Xp is what everyone playing the game is after if not your a RP-er and tbh im sick of this RP content THIS IS NOT A RP GAME it was never launch to be one so why should it be turned into one if you want to RP go play D&D in a book, yes i know i will be hated by the RP community now but tbh i just dont care

    [/ QUOTE ]
I play for fun and don't RP I wonder if I'm alone?

Both myself and many others play their level 50s and as they don't even earn XP I guess that rather breaks your argument.

How is making your own missions from a pot of stuff that is already in use in game new content?
I dont wqant to waste my game time making missions i would if i could make them how i want that being a flat map stocked full of lvl 53 freaks so i could PL new pvp toons, but seeing as you cant do that im not going to waste my time with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Depends on your definition of 'Content' I expect. As 90% of all the missions in game now are identical apart from the group you fight, TBH I'm surprised you're still playing. However some of us like stories, and the mission creator will allow people to tell them, and others to play them so yes it is new 'Content' for some of us.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I welcome all these additions, people seem to forget that all this IS free and any addition is always a good thing. Devs workin very hard to keep the game new, up to date and interesting. GRATZ

    [/ QUOTE ]
It isn't free it comes out of the subs.

Even if it was free if it is [censored] being free doesn't make it less [censored].
  13. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the slip of the mission creator, it was the main thing I was looking forward to. However the things that are being added in i13 will to an extent make up for it. Levelling Pact for me is going to be great as I frequently run pairs of characters up that I much prefer to keep at the same level. How it will work I have yet to see but I hope it means that even with 'real' SK system partners my characters won't out level one another.

SG Base Overhaul prices or other wise is long overdue, and something else I am looking forward to.

    Pronunciation Key - [mey-ley, mey-ley, mel-ey]

    1. a confused hand-to-hand fight or struggle among several people.
    2. confusion; turmoil; jumble: the melee of Christmas shopping.
    Also, mêlée.

    From Here.

Perhaps it would be better to define what your version of melee is rather than suggest to impose that view on the rest of us.

    Quick Reply...

I know at some point in the future the board's software is being changed. This is a suggestion for that rather than this software.

When using Quick Reply, rather than manually having to add <QR> or similar if you want to denote the reply being a quick reply rather than a specific reply. The post should be a reply to the OP, rather than the last poster, plus there should be some icon/text added to the subject of the post to show it to be a quick reply.

I know this isn't what you mean, but I'd like to see recipes for weapons to equip on weapon weilding powers. So a Bow recipe drops that you can add to the list of weapons your archery blaster already has.

You mean like unlockable weaponcustomization recipes?
    I would love that.

    As for OP's suggestion signed.
  18. I agree for contacts, its stupid that to kill enough mobs to gain the contact you out level said contact.

However badges/kill counts for weapons and badges IMO is quite right. If they were much easier to get then where would be the achievement of earning them?

I still have to obtain any accolade that includes the 100 Master Illusionist decoys, and I remember with joy when I had finally killed enough Rikti monkeys for the old style Zoo Keeper badge.

Here here. Completely agree. Not in an evil 'oh for god's sake' way, but in a 'some kind of revelation would be nice, in regards to non-issue stuff.

Well the Res debuff makes the whole killing process easier. I toggle it on whenever its up.

If people kill the anchors first that's their problem they have the agro they're the ones that will need to watch out.

I have near perma hasten/am my toggles at least recharge fast enough to re-toggle on single spawn (assuming its a big team, solo I can do as I wish ).

Don't know about anyone else but I can tab through the targets in the group fast enough to pick out two or three Anchor targets and place debuffs while most of the team are still running in.

As for agro, see something running away? Drop the toggle its not hard. From experience at 34/35 the only thing that runs and I can't lock down are war wolves, I suspect that Carnie strong men have the same issue. And as a tool for herding debuff toggles are far superior to pretty much anything else I have found.

edit: Who to place it/them on? If you place any of them onto a minion (or easy to kill Lt (like Rikti Communication Officers)) then you may as well not bother. They die so fast to either focused attention (people instinctively kill some mobs first), or because that mob is inherently weak. Generally I place the res debuff on something that I hope will be hit last, generally it works. The def debuff goes onto the boss (or highest conning in the spawn) as this will help whoever attacks it to kill it quicker.

The debuffs are their for a reason, its rather like an Empath defender refusing to heal because they want the END bonus from their inherent.

    /edit

And as I said this is from experience others might experience it differently, I'm running a pair of Mind/Rad controllers (How I wish I'd gone fire or something else, mind ugh!) now at 34 & 35, on a team of friends who do kill anchors I still have no real issues... the fact they will wake up slept mobs is far worse an issue IMO.
  21. Fairly sure I teamed with Caleb once or twice, but can't be sure.

    Stagger the anchors...

You have two toggle debuffs and a clicky. Stick one on the boss (or highest conning mob in group), preferably the def debuff (helps teammates hit it), put res debuff on the next lowest and the speed debuff on something else. With luck (and AM/Hasten) you can retoggle when an anchor dies. And the boss dropping won't wipe out all your debuffs.

((From experience with a Mind/Rad duo.))

The thing I'd love the most would be Rikti costume parts

    [/ QUOTE ]

TBH This far more than my suggestion.
  24. TBH There is already more than enough 'dead' or 'undead' seeming costume parts as a good proportion were added with CoV.

Magic parts etc would get my vote... Robes that look a bit like CoT robes would be nice.
