kinda like the bracers of Wonder Woman for example?

You don't really use that kind of shield the way you use a full-sized shield. In games, that's usually modelled as armour of some kind.

Except EverQuest's art department, where a chainmail bikini is quite enough to see off dragonfire.

i <3 chainmail bikinis...
realism schmealism.
I'll go with style over Substance!

Sort of like Tankini...
Built like an Russian T72 looks like Bikini... -

have you tried omega drivers instead of nvidia?
Mind you saying that I had problems with a rubbish inbuilt graphics card. as soon as I swapped over to a decent card everything worked fine.

He's using an Intel chipset not Nvidia. -
Looks at WoW auctions & dreams. It might not be the best system around but it works and is generally fair to both buyers and sellers.
Looks at EVE buy/sell system & dreams. It might not be the best system around but it works and is generally fair to both buyers and sellers.
Looks at WoW auctions & has nightmare. How the devs managed to come up with such a convoluted and unfair system is beyond me. With a private bid system the economy can never be very good without some form of external price controls. -

It just....works. Afaik, theres no exploits you could get here. After all, the Prestige has been earned by someone anyway. -shrug- Its late, if anyone can see a flaw, stick it up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Theoretically you could make loads of different SGs on different characters, get the first fifteen people to join (you get 20000 prestige or something per member, right?) then merge one with the other. Rinse and repeat, you get loads of prestige for free.
But that'd take ages and you'd need to find the people/make the alts, so most people wouldn't bother I'd imagine.
[/ QUOTE ]
But its first 15 people in a SG...
So if you merged lots you'd still only have a single 1st XV all the extra 20ks would be lost on merge. You'd have to mention it on the merge dialogue but I don't think it could be exploited that way. Based on if you fill your SG up to fifteen and then build the base then drop down below 15 members you end up with negative prestige. -
They did update it since launch, I think with i7 but not 100% sure it hasn't been updated since.
As for chipset I misunderstood, thought you said 745 not 945. -

www.shatteredcrystal.com Used to sell EU cards, back when such things existed (they may still do not seen one for a bit though) might be worth poking them to see if they still do.

Minimum specs here: http://eu.plaync.com/eu/games/info/city_of_heroes/
TBH that machine shouldn't have been on sale, they should have been paying you to take it away. -
If he's very limited he might be up dirty canal without barge-horse anyway. While online gaming doesn't use huge amounts of bandwidth up it does use some. Once upon a time I recorded how much my machine used over a month (30 day trial) and it was quite startling to see just how much bandwidth I used. And bear in mind I am on a limited connection so do restrict how much I download.

I suppose if you had a SG web page they could see how many active players you had in your SG other than that its not going to tell a potential member much.
Still a exilent idea though

If they had a decent API connected to the system now that allows people to show as many details as they want. (Look at WoW Armoury for example (my lvl70)).
As you can see there is a lot of info given for my character, and here is the info for my guild. So people can see what classes we have, how many people we have and how many of them are raid geared (important aspect in WoW).
While something like this for CoH would be over the top it could also be quite cool to have the information at our finger tips. I run a small SG me, my alts and some friends (35 people at last count) just updated my spreadsheet today and it took better part of an hour to copy everything across, with an API or something similar it could perhaps take a couple of seconds or be something that happens automatically... either would be nice. -

Just installed the game and I have 25+ patches to install...which, with my limited usage allowance will probably take 2-3 months...
Oh well..you may see me online in a few months.

Do you know anyone who plays the game already? If so they can burn the entire game onto a DVD and send it to you. Or if they live close by either move your PC to them or vice versa, or use a USB memory stick thing. -
Me I have a level 48 MM, I can't get beyond logging her in before I'm bored to tears. CoV 40+ IMO is a joke, at least up till that point there is an illusion of self will and genuine nastiness. After that point the evil becomes stupidity, and any time you do something genuinely fun in an arc the last mission is pretty much to stop they guy you've been working for up to that point.
MMs are summon buff, die, res, summon buff die... ad nausea. What was so much fun for the last 38 or so levels with new shinys to help you becomes a chore as the only new power picks are so underwhelming.
So you could say I feel much the opposite to you.
Going Rogue will fix all that... *prays to devs*
As for that most of the fun I have had on CoH is:
Fire/Kin, Mind/Rad (bit underpowered with no pet but very fun), Nrg/Dev, Fire/Nrg.
If you play on Defiant I'm sure you can come play something with me, I won't say it'll be more fun but IMO fun is more about who you play with than what you play. -

-Sort out a decent command menu that makes it easier to coordinate pets.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I may be missing your point and its not quite what you said but. Do search for /popmenu post I did shortly after... uh long time ago. Could make a decent command menu with that I think. However I was thinking of a way to assist allies when you don't want to specifically switch targets around to stop the mobs pounding on the corruptor rather than you or the pets. -
Kelly Ripper (I don't get the reference
) should be 1000 police as 100 is far too easy. Always annoyed me that the killing snakes badge was too easy, and I pretty much level to 5 on police type mobs.
Tripping The Void Should also be more 20 is too low.
Otherwise I like. -
Currently it is hard to tell a pet to assist a comrade. Please add:
/petcom_all assist
To the standard /petcom_all attack/defend/follow/etc.
Obviously also adding it to the other /petcom_all/petcom_name/etc.
/petcom_all assist would then command the pet to attack your target's target. -
If you are running two accounts at once... (not sure 100% on how to make them work well on same PC, I use two as its easier...)
Only macro you need is: (there are others that make life good)
/bind <key> "teamselect 1$$follow"
Replacing 1 2with what ever position your main is in the team. Cornering gets easier with practice.
If you are running 2nd account simply as a buff bot on a single PC you will have to alt tab between the two each time you want to fire something, but if you have a really big monitor/two monitors you should be able to use Xmouse (look in TweakUI (get that from Microsoft)) and have program activation follow mouse cursor. Basically the program in the foreground is whatever is under the mouse cursor.
If you run 2 PCs you have the option of running a keyboard multiplexer of some variety. Simplest version of this is to grab 2x wireless keyboards, plug a receiver into each PC and then sync them both to a single keyboard. There is also several hardware methods that will do the same job and is similar to a KVM though generally more expensive (~$200+ last I looked). (Look in this thread @ Dual-Boxing.com)
My own prefered method is to use multiplexing software, it runs over a local network and sends selected keybinds from one PC to another. I use a piece of software called octopus. Its no longer in active development and when it was it was aimed at the WoW multi-boxing community, however across multiple PCs it works great with CoH. (This thread for Octopus software.)
I use an older version having not seen a need to upgrade, I also have two Belkin Nostromos (n52) which I got over the years, each PC also has a mouse and monitor. I control one character on each PC with a single n52 running on the main machine, but have the 2nd n52 and mouse in front of me in case I need to take it over temporarily or when one dies (happens more often than I like still).
Currently I run three pairs and have run others in the past but got bored of. 2 Fire/Kin, these have some more convoluted macros as I use them to buff each other and still be able to buff other people on the team. Far more easy to run are the Mind/Rad I only use the follow bind I mentioned above. As is also the case with my Fire/Nrg blasters.
I also on occasion run a dedicated kin/dark defender as a buff bot on low level characters, this is still set on follow but I use the buffs directly from the 2nd n52 rather than through the multiplexer.
So far I have dual boxed every AT except the villainous epics, by far the easiest system is when using two ranged types and hardest being melee only characters. It can be done but it takes much more work and IMO isn't worth the pain. MM's are also a pain as they targeting system the we can use in CoH does not work for pets.
As it stands for the follower(s) to target your main's target the must be targeting you, then any player effecting powers they have hit you and any NPC affecting powers hit your target. With a MM their main powers still function in this manner but the /petcom_all attack (or any of the other pet commands) need to be the target of the MM itself. One way round this is to macro the attack button on the MM to be something like: /macro Pat "teamselect <main>$$assist$$petcom_all attack aggressive" However I found that you still need the MM to reset its target back to you or you lose any of its secondary attacks... plus if you are a more active MM than I ever played and set different pets to attack different targets you will run out of buttons or fingers more rapidly.
Hope this has been of some help, if on Defiant I can mostly be found playing a duo of some sort, if not I can be talked to here or through @Lost Ninja. (Best here as I don't always notice tells, and I don't play anywhere as near as much as I used to.) -
TBH Thats what I had then I figured I'm going to have the tray open anyway in case I want to click on a macro rather than hit the key, and I have three unused slots in the tray. I don't need slot 10 bound it just seems stupid that it can't be.
-
AFAIK IT procs all the time, same as the LoTG +Recharge. I have one of each slotted across my two fire/kins and hardly ever get knocked back. One of which is in Increase Density as I had no other +RES (or maybe +DEF) powers in which to slot it.
-
Working on a set of binds last night and got a strange issue. Wanted to have one of the extra trays open with a set of macros to trigger inspirations so by hitting one or another I get to pop a red or green or whatever. All good so far. Now the extra trays cannot be bound directly, that I have found, however you can use /powexec_tray <int> <int> to trigger a specific slot in a specific tray.
Slot 1 - 9 works out like:
<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>/bind f1 "powexectray 1 9"
/bind f2 "powexectray 2 9"
/bind f3 "powexectray 3 9"
/bind f4 "powexectray 4 9"
/bind f5 "powexectray 5 9"
/bind f6 "powexectray 6 9"
/bind f7 "powexectray 7 9"
/bind f8 "powexectray 8 9"
/bind f9 "powexectray 9 9"</pre><hr />
Tray being tray 9 in this case. I tested the above and they all work as you would expect. However I was unable to bind slot 10, I tried both /powexectray 10 9 and /powexectray 0 9 but neither will work, nor will shifting everything up one and having the zero slot in position 1.
Binding normal tray slots its listed as slot 10 (powexec_slot 10). Completely stumped, does anyone know how I bind that last slot? -

The code has been changed to prevent that from happening after the US players took them down. Somehow, I don't see the Developers going back on it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I spotted that last night, seemed odd to me as I'd have thought that that was the ultimate defence, it wasn't like it was easy to do (IIRC) and killing a couple should have been badge worthy IMO. -
I'd prefer it to be fixed so that logging or being disconnected didn't immediately clear any mission progress. I have the same issues as the OP sometimes and that would sort it out for me.
-
Perhaps move to Union board?
((And if so delete this))

I prefer Flamethrowers TBH... mainly as then they groan and scream at the same time.

If you're typing exactly what Standoff posted and using a key not bound to anything else then no. It should work.
