    I think going rogue will be the addon pack. Still wondering at the title... City of Neutrality doesn't have a great ring to it. Based on the middle ground idea that I saw in a dev interview at some point anyway.

    Then its about time they made it work. Sorry, but if you bump out on a bigger development team and more kit and suchnot, and *then* say you cant even adapt an NPC feature to work for PCs? Quite lame, really.

    Besides, does that apply for all the emotes the NPCs use but we cant? The lying down ones and such? I dont pretend to know how hard or easy it is, but thats the whole *point* of a development team. They develop things, make things, program and code etc. To make things happen.

    And, on the issue of Scaling, nearly all NPCs use it, and thats in every shape and size. Tell me that isnt variable scaling.

    Walk animations for anyone (player or NPC) is QoL and not exactly essential then.

  8. Two of the people I play with are into costumes.... sadly the ones they make often leave the viewer with long term sickness and runy stools... and once my eyes bled too.

  9. Just got a vanguard merit at the end of a non-rikti mission with the day job active is that WAI? As I assumed it was an additional merit when finishing a rikti mission (as in a mission that awards one anyway).
  10. Better plan roll characters on Zunkuft and Vigilance. A further 36 slots (or more) and you get to learn a foreign language at the same time.

  15. Water is IIRC Crafted Slow Field (look in the 2nd generation crafting table).

    And that pool looks great. I tried it myself but for me the water just doesn't look that great. :'(

    1)If by some method of compacting players onto a single server left me without one of the names I have taken for my own across my two accounts, I would leave. I'd hate to do so because I still love this game but even though I am not an RPer my characters are more meaningful to me than some pixels and a database entry would suggest.

    2)Don't care a jot about a global name.

    3)More of the people I know would leave the game due to point (1) than not.

    4)After any such compaction (1) I don't doubt that there would be an increase of active players on that single server but I would expect that single server to return PDQ to levels of players that exist now on a current single server, making whole process rather pointless and destructive.

    5)Because player numbers would take a dive, I'd further expect to see remaining player numbers fall further.

    6)Any such move as (1) would let the wider MMO community know that the game is dying causing even more people who might be interested to not even join further increasing the rate of player loss.

    7)Forthcoming releases of two other MMOs within this same genre at the same time as the existing one is 'dying' is a good idea why?

    8)How much is Cryptic paying you to make these DOOM™ threads?

    Reported thread for lock/deletion, because the best way of encouraging new players to stick around is to have lots of DOOM™ threads in the general discussion board.

    Providing you pick a good balance of primary and secondary you can solo quite well and you're generally wanted/liked in teams.

    Whole Fire/Kin is a little overused and can get annoying due to the team demanding 'SB plz' every ten seconds, its also great fun to play. Failing that rad is also a lot of fun... but any controller with the possible exception of mind is great in a team.

    So all you'd need is lots of practice to start the power cycling before you cross that last gate before the lane change, though TBH I don't think it'd save much time. For me its lag that eats the time there.

    i'm good enough, but i'm balanced to, others are not.

    let's put this as simple as i can, so i don't let low twits miss the point.
    as long as speed buffs are allowed, the ski game is exclusive for high levels.
    it's suppose to be fun for every level, so it needs to be balanced for every level.

    Got my gold with one SB from a random guy at the top and super jump, which anyone can get at level 14. Hell I'm tempted to use an alternate build to make a better runner. What is more while I also had Hurdle both it and SJ were only slotted with one level 30 IO (common jump speed IO at that).

    I dare say running the course on a level one would be less powerful than say a level fifty with an all set IO build but not surprisingly less so than a level 14 with easily acquired powers at level 14. And if said level 14 didn't want to gimp their main build they can still use the alternate.

    Besides who has won? If you get a top time on a throw away level 14 character racing against level 50s with all the bangs and whistles?

    I use hover and fly on my blaster, extensively. From my experience when hit with enough knock back you still get knocked back (looks at any AV with knock back). Normal mobs make you flip often enough which is now more annoying than CJ, if you're on your back you know that you'll get up. Whilst flying/hovering you flip and then wait what always feels to be an indeterminate time before you can actually do anything (though I know that time is fixed).

    The perception that it is longer or shorter than the 'downtime' associated with CJ is based on that 'hang time' when you can't do anything, whether or not it is actually true is irrelevant due it being based on a players perception. Just as the perception that Hover is too slow is just that a perception.

    As for the time spent getting back into melee being a deciding factor, taking Hover on a melee character that would normally rely on positioning to make the most of his or her abilities is IMO at any rate rather pointless, and where CJ comes into its own. Not that I'm saying that Hover is useless on a melee character, but that there are better alternates for nearly all the things a melee character is doing. Possible exceptions would be airborne mobs, however as there are very few airborne mobs that can't be -fly'd I don't think that is an important aspect. If flight is important for concept of a character if you plan on playing in melee then fly itself is a far better option, and with IOs not that bad in END cost.

    Personally:
    I'd rather Hover be a stable firing platform for a ranged character than be a fast positioning system for which we already have flight.

    It doesn't. They changed it a while back. Neither Hover or Fly offer any KB protection. In i13 a small Knock Down resistance was added to Hover but any knock back effect just leaves you floating in mid air for a couple of seconds, for the same time it would take you to get back up if you'd been knocked down without Hover/Fly.

    It was changed AFAIK to make it less useful when they made the changes to KB/KD/KU, which IIRC was also when acrobatics was changed.
