    Using the standard time stamp things (like the forums and stuff).

    True Colors

    Its to do with the way light reflects off the surface of what you're colouring.

    Personally I'd prefer a system of colours that allows any colour a standard windows style colour picker, or even allowing us to specify colours through #RRGGBB. Would make the costume creator even better at the risk of making 'naked' characters, which IMO is farcical as none of the body types exhibit any anatomical details (genitalia, secondary sexual characteristics, etc).
  3. Neither for nor against. Can see both sides of the argument.

    But before any such change for FF, SB (and other short non-stacking ST buffs) should be addressed first. An AoE SB (that doesn't effect the caster) is far more important/needed than a four minute bubble. A full team with pets (don't generally SB them, but...) by the time you've gone through the list once its almost time to start SBing at the top again.

    And yes I do think such a change is dumbing down the game, but doing this for FF which is easy mode anyway with four minute buffs before sorting out those shorter buffs would be bad...

    BTW I play a lot of ???/kin & kin/??? and only two ???/FF could you tell?

    1. Hero Side: Move the inside detective outside, and or make the detective you get dependant on your origin. Villains: Make the broker Origin specific.
    2. The list of contacts given when you hand in a completed safeguard/mayhem should include either more contacts to chose from or a root contact.
    3. Add root contacts. A root contact once unlocked (mini-arc) allows you to share contacts at that level. Both sharer and sharee need to have completed the mini-arc but then any contact (those unlocked by normal means, not those unlocked by killing stuff or badges) unlocked for that level range can be shared. Level ranges are 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 etc.
      Mini-arcs are 2-3 mission arcs that include some of the mobs you're likely to face in that level range.
      One Root contact per zone hero side and two villain side. Thus the mini-arcs could also cover some of the story behind the zone.
    4. Where contacts offer a random mission as part of an arc, rather than just offering a single mission they should offer a choice of missions. *Looks at Stephanie Peebles*
    5. Not noticed this villain side but certainly heroside. If two contacts offer the same mission (eg Safeguards) you should be able to auto-complete the mission as though it is being offered by a single contact.
  5. Never used this myself but saw it in the big 'We hate SB thread...'

    /bind alt+lbutton "powexec_name speed boost"

    Which means when you hold alt down and (double?) click on a team mates name in the team list you will cast SB (not sure about the double click as I say not done this myself). To slove the OP's question I'd add:

    /bind alt+rbutton "powexec_name increase density"

    You could also do this through a popmenu, but I think that might be a little over the top unless you desperately need to know...

    Though not recently, my DM/Rgn scrapper comfortably beat a Ill/Rad many times... to the point that said Ill/Rad refused to fight me in the arena.

    Course regen will have been nerfed since then. :'(

    I think a lot of the replies here are ignoring the OPs comment mostly. Most of us don't object to using the AoE buffs we have at our disposal, I certainly use FS, Transference and Transfusion virtually every mob (or more). I use Transfusion every time its up on AVs and GMs as it has a -regen effect.

    I have a kin defender that I play sometimes and on that I am a buffer/debuffer, I think I have three secondary attacks one of which is a stun, my epic attack is a sleep. It is a purely team orientated character and works well in teams. But when playing a controller I play a controller not a defender my buffs are secondary to my purpose.

    The benefits of a kin on the team... (Admittedly this one is a team of three fire/kins and I think at this point I have 6 speed boosts stacked on each character).


    Working on a Emp/Sonic Defender trio now... think they'll be like above from about level 33 onwards.

  11. I play Fire (and other)/Kins a lot and I have got to the point where if invited to a TF I will say from the outset that while I plan on giving out SB when I can my primary concern is damage.

    And for a while I refused to even team with my ???/kins I got so sick of the SB plz every ten seconds.

    If you want a character to be primarily a buffer get a defender, if you want control/damage get a controller who can when not otherwise engaged buff too.

    Only works if you have their Global Handle to send the tell to. Normal tells, those sent to a character name rather than a global name, just get a message of that name being offline atm or not existing.

    Maybe the latest patch just made an existing issue worse. But certainly for me it has been happening since I started playing on the laptop.
  17. Any bonus caps after five of the same bonus, this also applies to IO bonuses, eg LotG +7.5% recharge.

    So you can only have 5% recharge 5x in the build, even if its from different sets etc.

  19. I've had it on my laptop (which is hilariously under powered) I think in the end I decided it was to do with the 'New Recipe' popup (big yellow writing mid screen). If I clicked to buy slowly it didn't crash, clicking quickly it often did.

    My main PC is untroubled, but my other PC occasionally hangs when the same message pops up, it always (so far) resumes after a few seconds. Again buying slowly it doesn't happen. Course you might have a different problem.

    Procs I already have...

    The Perf Shifter procs I bought on introduction when nobody seemed to think much of them and picked up ~10 for peanuts. I have one LotG +recharge although its currently slotted in a different character, not sure my fire/kin really needs it.

    For the rest thanks for your input and build I will have a long look at my inefficiencies.

    DM/Rgn

    My first fifty and oldest character is a DM/Rgn, I made her originally when my first scrapper failed the 1st respec about 30 times (way back when respecs were hard).

    Since then I have gone onto other things and generally enjoy my DM/WP or Claws/WP more... and controllers more than either. However I have a freespec burning a hole in my pocket and want to streamline my DM/Rgn a bit.

    And while I feel confident in building a good SO build I haven't got that same confidence when using IOs as I seldom can afford the good IOs on a single character (I have many, many alts).

    So some advice needed.

    I'm mainly trying to maximise my DEF, RES & Recharge but not too hard. I don't have oodles of inf as I can spend it on other more important stuff... like costumes. I also have no interest in PvP. The character will be mainly used for running TFs and helping friends with stuff.

    With that in mind:

    1)Shadow Maul or Siphon Life? I can't fit both due to not having enough slots to slot both. I don't expect I'd need the health very often, but Siphon Life seems to do some decent damage with the bonus of topping up my health. Shadow Maul also seems to have a long animation which always annoys me when it misses. I know Siphon Life is better than it used to be (had it way back in i4/i5 after the nerfs to IH).

    2)Slotting IH & Dull Pain - Formerly I always slotted both with three recharge reductions and three heals. I briefly tried franken-slotting them (and reconstruction) with a heal/recharge from each Heal Set, but couldn't afford all three Numina's. This time round I was planning 2x Recharge, 2x Heal and 1x Heal/Recharge (probably Doctored Wounds) I get 122.4 recharge on DP and 220 on IH. What would be the ideal five slot method?

    3)Roughly speaking the below is my plan, any glaring errors?
