    Level Pacts

I have personal experience, if you don't log into any of the pacted toons, you can still maintain the pacts. *Had 4-5 pacts with a friend, let both his accounts lapse, still has pacted toons*
How does he know if he has let his accounts expire?

    My personal experience is this:

2 Accounts both with a PB/WS pacted together. One account lapsed. Later after reactivating the 2nd account on logging into PB on 2nd account I get the message that Level Pact is broken. 2nd Account was inactive for three days and I hadn't logged in on the 1st account during that time.

As it stands for anyone who is likely to let an account lapse for any amount of time level pacting is worthless fluff. How the guy I quote said it happened for him is how it always should happen. Not sure which of us got an error in the system. Or they should make it possible to pact characters that are the same level as each other switching off XP for the character that is higher until they are equal...
  2. This isn't, I think, a new issue. But I have been noticing it more in the last day or so as I redevelop my SG base.

After editing the base I must exit the client and reload, this is due to the base editor not releasing memory that it has used back into windows. If I open and close the editor (which I often do to test heights and looks) the memory footprint of the client often ends up with multiple gigabytes in use.

On my main PC (and others) I tend to have about 600Mb memory in use while playing the game. This obviously goes up when doing TFs etc but after a while drops back to the 600Mb figure.

After editing the base the figure never drops below about 1300Mb (1.3Gb), if I open and close the base editor the figure will rise by another 6-700Mb. Though not normally higher. Due to my PC only having 2Gb RAM this obviously makes the game sluggish.

Now I'm not a programmer so I don't know why this happens, but it suggests an error with the base editor.

PC Specs: (Though I am experiencing this on three PCs (2x XP 1x Vista))
    AMD 64x2 3800
    2Gb RAM
    XP Pro SP3

    What if?

See if EVE is fun for a non-PvPer yet and in the case that it isn'y (what I'd expect) go back to WoW via the rest of my single player games.
  4. For SG teleporters?

In SG mode pick up all the exploration badges in a zone.

A RWZ badge can only be had during a ship raid as its normally under the forcefield at the centre of the ship.

Pocket D destination can only be picked up during the christmas event (or when the ski chalet is open) due to one badge being outside the normal Pocket D map.

For the rest check out vidiotmaps.com as they have the badges marked on the map. eg This is Atlas Park.
  5. Maybe its not teaming that people have an issue with, its you?
    1. Make it stand alone offline editor. Have no direct links to the in game editor.
      1. Except that the in-game editor loads/saves the same files.
    2. My personal choice would be to fix the in-game editor first so that its able to save room/base layouts.
      1. Add an in game test mode, possibly through AE consoles that allow anyone to load up the saved BaseBlueprint to look at bases, these would be functional in the sense that you could walk around and all the items would be visibly functional. Although it would be like visiting someone else's base so no interaction.
      2. Allow player interaction with the .pigg files. Or release a base art pack which would include all the models/textures/etc for base editing.
      3. With the pack release a basic - not much better than the in-game - editor that allows you to load/save BaseBlueprints.
      4. That would allow a player generated offline editor which would remove the essential need for Dev generated updates.
    3. However if not the above.
      1. Ignore the ranking issue in SGs, that can be solved by people it doesn't need a code solution.
      2. In game editor must be able to load and error check offline edits.
      3. And be able to suggest fixes for missing items.
      4. Personally I think that the online editor should be able to generate a list of available items (a checksum) which it adds to the save file. When the offline editor reads that check sum it can (dis)allow items that you can't place.
    Pros:
    • No more base editing lag... that little hiccup each time you move/place/delete something. Especially if doing a huge base.
    • Hopefully stop the client hanging if in base edit mode for long periods.
    • If there could be a fan made alternative (my personal wish) expanded editing tools for doing things that the Devs don't have the time to add.
    • If anyone can play with Base editing, it will be a hook to get the Sims Generation into the game.
    • It would also mean that people who are just beginning to edit can look at examples of people who are masters in the craft.
    Cons:
    • Dev time spent on a minority activity, that currently not many have the time/prestige/SG for.
    • Sure there are others but none spring to mind as yet.
This was something I have been thinking about for a long time. While this is a wish list something to address the annoying lag spikes for placing and object would make me happy. Even setting the editor to check changes when you hit an apply button would be better. Having it save the whole thing into a save file would be awesome and allow IMO much better precision and control.

    Intel's Core I5

I5 Earlier adopters will be worse off than if they bought I7, wait a few months or go straight for I7. Only when boards and chips are available in real quantities will direct price comparisons be useful.

Also aren't Intel jumping to 32nm in the not too distant future?

Me I'm sticking with AMD... the performance may be less surreal but I can upgrade piecemeal and not have to wait until I can afford in effect a whole new system.

    Window Name?

Completely unable to get either wdwloadfilesilent or wdwsavefilesilent to work in game. However the non 'silent' version works fine thanks for the help.
  8. I was playing around with the wdw settings when I found they error then confirmed it with the /window_show command. Either the /window_show shouldn't load the MM window at all (which would remove the positioning part as that is why it is being saved) or the editor should be unusable when called through MM.

I did find one interesting facet of the whole issue though. If the last <int> in the wdw option is set to 8 on many windows the functional part of the window is removed and the window becomes locked to it's position. Not sue what use could be made of that, though it does remove some of the UI bloat.
  9. How to kill your game in 1 easy step...

Go into any area that isn't in a AE Building. (Though it might work there too.)

    Type:

    /window_show MM

Oh and if you mess with the wdw file don't touch the MM.

    Bug:
Using /window_show MM or loading a windows option file with an edited MM section crashes the game to desktop (with error reporter).

    Window Name?

Sorry should have said I'm trying to close this by keypress, I have a fairly long bind that I use to accept/exit missions/etc I'd like to add this to it. I did try /gamereturn or /window_close_extra but as you say they tend to close too much.

    Window Name?

Anyone know the name of the window (or how to close the window) that lists mission options for Newspaper/Scanner.
  12. Female Body Type... has got to be my most overused costume.

    Beyond that though.

Valkyrie 2 shoulders - Big but without the wings.
Valkyrie boots - Again without wings.
Valkyrie or Enforcer Chest - Very very seldom have anything else on all my characters.
Very partial to Robotic Arms 2 and use one of the options that has a cable running from the shoulder to the arm...
Mimee and short spikes for hair styles.
Oh and Tech Sleek for basic skin options.

Though that said at the moment I'm pretty much only using half helmet with some form of face mask and the enforcer jawbone thing.

What can I say I like power armoured females...
  13. A suggestion made by myself shortly after CoV launched, which IMO fits into this thread. Essentially zonal badges that require you to go to certain points in that zone... sort of like history badges... but with no set location for the set points.

    eg:
    Trench Foot
You have successfully explored the Abandoned Sewers
(Markers in normal through routes and junctions, this is to encourage people to explore not look for dead ends.)

    or

    Highwire Enthusiast
You can navigate the roof tops of Cap Au Diable
(All markers are above ground level in Cap Au Diable and can be found while running from one side to the other (southern half/south of Aeon City).)

Essentially each zone would gain maybe 100 points that work like badge points (with no visible marker) to gain the actual Badge you'd have to pass within badge range of 10-15 of these markers. Ideally picked at random for each character (like detective/broker randomness) but it could just be number found... again nothing should show up in chat to say you have found one.

Then whack an accolade into the idea which gives a nice bonus/power for 5/6/7/8 what have you exploration badges called Explorer.

Sure, I could start a new account and move to the NA side. But losing all the toons I love, losing all the effort I put into them, losing 48 months of vet rewards I am attached to, not to mention all those packs I bought, I have all but the last two.

Now I could go and abandon it all to play on the NA servers, having to pay again for the privilege of playing this game To be honest I rather start playing CO then star again from scratch.

I would love to get access to those 11 extra servers though.
Don't want to start again but would prefer to start again (in a new game with less content) than start again in a game you apparently love?

I have had team invites on Defiant Villains... even *shock* random invites with no tell, which hardly happens on Hero side.

I wouldn't by choice move to the US servers but wouldn't object to having the lists merge, which IMO will happen at some point anyway.

EU is by no means dead, GR I think (hope) will vastly improve all levels and sides with more people in game.

But that doesn't mean people wouldn't still try.

However, from a business point of view, it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to allow it even if selling the game account wasn't an issue. Now that we can have a lot more character slots than we used to, if people were allowed to move all their characters to one account they could do so, and it would mean the closing of many of those "secondary accounts" that might otherwise remain open (or be re-opened periodically).
IMO it will happen and make sound business sense.

$19.99 (or whatever they charge in WoW) per transfer with all the normal provisios. Sure some people will attempt to sell characters but they do that now anyway because it isn't exactly hard to sell the whole account. But in the mean time find an AE farm team you can have most of your characters back up to whatever level they are now in a couple of hours.
  16. Many I'd imagine were in CO open beta and many will no doubt be playing CO now (think its out now).

  19. Assuming that your memory is in fact 256Mb with some stolen by the shoddy on board graphics card. I'm surprised that the game even runs. I'm guessing that you had no addons for WoW or that wouldn't have run either.

If you're talking about hard drive space its not something that has any (unless you're running on something like a 2Gb HDD) impact on how well the game works, in general terms anyway.

    EULA and me

For War you could try something like Discord... I'm planning on using Dischordia or Dischord for something sonic in the not too distant future. (Actually a character in a story I'm writing.)

I have a Grendel (have since EU beta) who is not only already in game but a Marvel character. No idea if I have been petitioned (guessing: quite likely) and not been generic'd.

Generally I think you're most likely to be generic'd if you try and match both a look and a name. I have seen any number of character clones in looks that having got a name that is nothing like the character they portray haven't been generic'd... though YMMV on the US servers (I play on EU only).

    Hnnnnnnnnnnnnng...
