going along with updating the fan art section of the official website, i think the writers out there would appreciate it if the fan fiction section were updated regularly too. we have some good writers playing CoX and they deserve as much recognition as the visual artists

well it was about Hades/Tartarus, so i think it was appropriate

agreed, especially since the same storefront is used for practically every store, which makes the fast food joints look like book stores from the outside. also, after seeing the same billboards for almost 3 years you easily start ignoring them. new billboards would be a nice bit of eye candy, especially if they were designed by the players

i think giving badges to anyone for art would be a bad idea because you'd have the non-artistic badge mongers up in arms over an impossible to achieve (for them) badge. there's enough complaining allready without adding one more thing for people to [censored] about.

heh, TA could be awarded a badge just for having the largest collection of art based on a single character.

i'm not sure if the art can be displayed in game, but i think it would be good to start regularly updating the fan art page on the CoH website, and include a link to the newest submissions on the updater

i think part of the problem with fan art and commissions is that no one is really clear which company has the problem: Cryptic, the developers, or NC Soft, the publisher. I think that the people over at Cryptic wouldn't have much of a problem with fan art, since the people in control of CoH are comic fans themselves. That leaves NC Soft and my guess is that the problem lies with them. NC Soft is a big corporation, they need to do what is in the best interests of the company and investors and for whatever reason they think that fan art/commissions are/can be in some way detrimental to those interests. So they keep artists on a tight leash. this is all IMO of course

frankly i don't understand why fan art isn't encouraged, it seems to me that art would be a good way to get new people interested in the game

or alternatively 3 slotted stamina w/o the end reducer in fly and end is not a problem even with toggles going

all you artsist should at least try, even if you think you can't compete with some of the other artists. you'll never know for sure unless you try

they're both good, but i definitely prefer the first one
