Thanks! I just didn't want to be the third person with a Positron poster this month, not that anyone accused me of anything last month.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Why do Positron when Fusionette has so much potential for comedy gold?
  2. Most teams I've been on who did TFs just barreled through them without regard to story, and without regard to anyone on the team who might be interested in reading the briefings and such. So I've never been on a TF where I had time to stop and try to enjoy what was going on (with the exception of one Posi TF, but I didn't enjoy it).

If I want to know the story, I have to go to Paragon wiki (and I never enjoy it, since I'd rather be able to get all of that stuff while I'm playing the TF). So, I can understand why the devs might be inclined to do a half-hearted story for a new TF, since most players seem to skip over it entirely for the sake of speed, XP, and merits. I don't think that excuses them for doing something mediocre, but I can understand why they wouldn't feel like putting in too much effort for something most people wouldn't appreciate.

That's awesome, it immediately reminded me of this , freaking amazing.

    Holy hell that's just incredible.

    Magic Origin

Maybe they're all magic so they can find their SOs easier at the elite quarter masters.

    Captain Dynamic!

    [ QUOTE ]
Is Captain Dynamic an official CO* character?

It'd be great if he appeared in-game. He could be intentionally used for comic relief, kind of like a cross between Ambush Bug and Uncle Marvel (from the old Fawcett/DC Captain Marvel stories, you young whippersnappers!).

    [/ QUOTE ]
He's not, although he's wearing actual costume pieces that you can do in game. So there could conceivably be someone who made a Captain Dynamic-like character.

And jumping in late to the hair discussion, I'm in that awkward stage where I'm growing my hair long again (damn law enforcement haircuts), and it's too long to be tidy with just combing, and too short for a ponytail of any dignity. Any suggestions?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Get a haircut? Hippie?

When I was in HS I tended to draw the Freshmen girls. Not just when I was a Freshman, but throughout my entire stay. :/

    [/ QUOTE ]
Feh. At least you attracted women. I was never anything more than friend material in high school.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
"Why am I not getting any XP?"

'You hit Level 21, max level for this is Level 20, you get double influence instead'

That pacified him, a bit, but not a lot.

"How can I make it so I get XP?"

'You can't , you're on the TF, but you'll get a shiny badge and some merits'

    [/ QUOTE ]
It never fails to amaze me that there are people out there who simply cannot fathom the concept of task/strike force auto exemplaring and that there might be other benefits from a TF/SF besides XP.

I guess this is a feature unique to CoH, since most other MMOs don't un-level you in a dungeon or what have you. Maybe I still have too much faith in the flexibility of the average human mind in dealing with new things.

    Fine! *sends Spazz the link*

That was me after bleaching it orange with 3 boxes of bleach, dying it red, then intentionally letting it grow out for 5 months so when I cut it I'd have my natural color back. =-P

Another question: Who gives the high-level villain arc where you have to kidnap the rogue Fortunata who then "volunteers" to be turned into a Tarantula Mistress?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Who else, but Westin Phipps.

[/ QUOTE ]Its sad when he is the only contact that actually gives "Evil" missions. My hope is that going forward the devs have a more darkerside for villain content.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Creed, Krylov, and Themari have you do some pretty evil things.
  13. Every now and then I try to make a steampunk elec/fire blaster, though not with much success on the name or costume fronts. My reasoning is that the character generates electricity from miniature steam turbines as the primary form of offense and then uses the excess heat from the generators as backup.

When going rogue goes live, I may try an elec/fire (using excess heat as a shield) or fire/elec (using the electricity to create an ablative armor of sorts and dumping the excess heat into attacks) brute.

    Schrodinger's Zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    ...that would be totally awesome.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a very small, square zone. It has one catgirl in it.

    ...Or perhaps, one catgirl corpse.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I thought Schrodinger's zone could be anything you wanted it to be, until you went in it.

Best know (and hated) mission of thiis type is red side where you have to prevent Crimson from fleeing.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No no no no no. The best known and most hated is Biff, the super arachnoid boss who takes off like a god damn bullet and is, for all intents and purposes, immune to slows and holds. God help you if you're solo, cause there's damn near no way of stopping that son of a [censored] when he decides to tale off.

But, a top of the line gaming rig is really damn expensive and most people can't afford to buy something like that.

[/ QUOTE ] While that is true, you don't need a top of the line machine to play most games.

    [/ QUOTE ]
True, you don't. But how often does reality coincide with perception?

Before my old motherboard blew itself out and I had to downgrade to something that only supported AGP 1.5 graphics cards, I could run something like Jade Empire or Half Life 2 without a problem. But a console gamer (and I mean the average shmo with little PC experience outside of Internet and Microsoft Office here) will look at games like those and just assume that only a top drawer rig could run them as well as a PS3 or Xbox 360 could.
  20. I can see where you're coming from Zek. I'm PC all the way, I think it's the superior gaming system in terms of graphics performance, programming versatility, and the versatility of the controls (you've got many more buttons on a keyboard than a control pad and mouse sensitivity beats joysticks any day).

But, a top of the line gaming rig is really damn expensive and most people can't afford to buy something like that. On top of that, PCs have problems with software compatibility with the OS and drivers and you've got to have virus protection, and defrag, and backups in case something goes wrong. Then you've got to install the games, find updates that get rid of bugs, and then you call tech support and they're telling you to discombobulate the Johnson connector on your GPU in order to get the Allison flange in your monitor to work right.

It can be a little much for the average idiot who just wants to turn the machine on, pop in a disk, and start mindlessly killing things.

Haven't done Numina in a while, does it tend to run under three hours? I'd have to leave at 5 Eastern for work, if that's not a problem sign me up with my Dark/Rad Defender, Androgyne, and feel free to bump me if needed to accomodate more sign-ups who can commit to the eventuality of a long haul.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not exactly sure on the time frame. Haven't done this whole tf in sometime.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Numina is from the old days when the devs expected players to do TFs over a couple of days, so I'd expect it to take at least 3 hours.

    Fun Hero Builds?

    [ QUOTE ]
Whats a good origin to go with kinetic? Ive been using magic... just cause it went with the theme better. But kinetic is more of a psi power than magic.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's entirely up to you. For a brief period I had a kin/rad who was tech origin, the idea being that his armor suit allowed him to siphon energy from his targets and project some of it back as radiation.

If kin seems like a psychic ability to you, then you could go with mutation or science origin.

    Fun Hero Builds?

    [ QUOTE ]
I currently have an illusion/radiation hero... and shes entertaining, but I cant play her for long periods of time like I can with my dark melee/stalker.

So I was considering remaking my hero... any suggestions? I really Illusion, but having just one attack talent gets kinda boring.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Do you normally play support characters, or are you typically geared more toward offense? There's a huge difference in play style between a stalker and a controller.

It sounds like you're more into offensive play, so I'd suggest playing around with scrapper or blaster combinations. I've had a lot of fun with martial arts/shield and katana/super reflexes.
