Kirk's enemies gave up like the pansies they were. Sisko's enemies were persistent until the bitter end, when he would render their planets uninhabitable. And then they would forgive him for it.

Quote:Irrelevant. He was fully human at the time.Q got stabbed by Guinan with a fork. For a near-omnipotent being, he deserves no respect.
Quote:Besides, Q frequently returned to annoy Picard like Star Trek's answer to Mr. Mxyzptlk.
Who was Kirk's only recurrent nemesis? Khan Noonien Singh, thank you very much. -

Quote:Ah, but that's what the indoor pot...er plant growing lights are for. You just have to leave them on all day.Vampire-plants were a pain. They need sunlight, but it burns them. They are, granted, pretty much immortal, but they pretty much swap between "Need sunlight!" at night and "Oh no! The sun!" at day. Fun at first, then it gets old.
Also, Sims movie. And TV series, apparently. I have strong doubts. -
Maybe we could call it the wTF. That way, we get all the fun of a mocking acronym with less of the confusion.

IMO most '80s cartoons could stand a reboot with a production staff who takes whatever they're working on a bit more seriously than the people in the '80s did (that makes sense, right?). Some of the concepts are still pretty cool, despite the cheap-o animation and voice acting.
Voltron and Star Blazers are two that I'd like to see remade. Both are series that I want to like, but every time I try to watch an episode I get turned off by acting that makes William Shatner look down right Shakespearean in comparison. I can take the dated animation and cheesy sound effects, but as soon as any of the characters open their mouths... bleah. -

I'd guess that it will end either with Sam's forced retirement or with Sam making a rash decision to retire that he comes to regret. That way, he's in the mood to get in on some action by the time Michael gets banished to Miami.

Filming on the Burn Notice prequel movie is set to start. In Bogota, Columbia no less. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Sam's back story when this comes out in the spring.

I'm surprised they're not doing JJTrek Potato Heads, since that's the hottest Trek property at the moment. I guess these are pretty much for the die-hard collectors' market.
Also, <insert Potato Head Shatner toupee joke here> -
Quote:What irritates me about this trend is that the producers/execs seem to think that what people want is only the visual style of anime, as if the whole attraction to that particular genre (for lack of a better word) is the way it looks and not the stories that are told.Is anyone else bothered by how "anime" inspired all the cartoons are these days?
I really miss older style animation and seems any time I see a new remake of those old 80s cartoons there redone in some anime-ish fashion and I just don't like it as much.
I prefer the older style animation, though Lion-O did look like a clown. -
Quote:I do like some of the industry critiques she's done, and the Disney vs. Dreamworks videos were good. But yeah, on the whole I think her work on her masters degree is getting in the way of the Nostalgia Chick gig. Not that I think she should quit working on the degree, of course. But perhaps she should hand over the reigns to a stand in so she can focus on her studies and then resume a regular review schedule during her summer break or however her class schedule works.I know she's going to school or something full time, but I'm a little confused as to why they keep her doing it when she obviously does not have time for it. You'd think she could manage a once every month or every other week, but it's hard to look forward to stuff she does when it's so infrequent, and that very infrequency keeps her from being very entertaining with it.
The Critic has hits and misses, but even his misses strike me as better than what the Chick has been doing for about the past year. She had a good start, but she's kind of ground down. 5th Element is edge enough on how bad it is, too. It has flaws, but it's fun as well. Movies that have a little bit too much going for them are harder for them to review as well... the Critic even had to admit that Waterworld isn't terrible, just not what it should have been for how much cash went into it. I'd agree with that, but it does kind of make a "poke fun at this movie" review fall flat.
Heck, I actually wouldn't mind him doing more reviews of good movies, to be honest. I actually enjoyed his favorite movies video more than some of his goofy videos. He has a good take on movies, for the most part.
Also, Fifth Element was a movie I was hoping the Critic would review. I really wanted to hear him make fun of the way Zorg said, "For the cause." -
Quote:Douchey's been around for a while. I think he was created for the Nostalgia Critic's Top 11 F***-Ups videos. If you've seen him before, he's not that bad, but I can see how he wouldn't make the best first time impression. She still needs to add some polish into her work, but I simply couldn't get past Douchey McNitpick. Just..um...how much were they drinking when that character got made and decided it was a good thing to put into a video? Seriously, I had to stop the video after the character came on and started talking. I think the point of putting up a review is making sure people get to the actual end of the review.
I think Nostalgia Chick is more than a little rusty with the review shtick. Plus, Fifth Element, for all its flaws, wasn't really the best movie for a return review. -
That's just par for the course. None of the gamer media outlets seem to pay enough attention to CoH to understand that Cryptic isn't in charge anymore. Never mind the fact that Crypic's involvement ended four(?) years ago.
