  1. Oh, thanks for the reminder Heroid. This piqued my interest when you first mentioned it, but I'd forgotten about it.

Yes, but how many of those would you consider romantic? Because the whole thing with Edward breaking into Bella's house to watch her sleep is supposed to be romantic. And a lot of the girls who read that are going to get the impression that that sort of behavior is romantic instead of, you know, creepy and stalkery.
  3. Felicia Day is just so damn cute. She needs to be a regular character.

On the vampire thing, yes. The series still blows for other reasons, though.

This annoys me greatly. DS9 is my favorite series.

Also, I'd forgotten exactly how annoying Neelix was until I rewatched a few episodes of Voyager. Neelix needs to die. Horribly. Maybe by radiation poisoning. Or one of the Ceti Alpha worms. Perhaps stabbed in the heart with a d'k tahg.

Yeah, me too. I thought he and Pete had some good chemistry going. Now if Pete could just teach Jinks to stop calling people out on their lies (or call them out in a more strategic way).

I liked how it hit the Prius. Sort of a 'take that!' from the writers over the product placement.

I don't think it's that Claudia was grumpy, she just resented Jinks coming in and replacing Myka as well as shouldering her out of more field work as Pete's partner. I did like that they reproduced Pete and Myka's introduction to the Warehouse. It was a nice touch.
  10. Well damn, Myka's back a lot sooner than I'd expected. This calls for a

  12. Sure it looks good, but does Captain America steal any cars through the use of trickery?
  13. The whole thing was obviously either a set up or misdirect. As they pointed out, these guys are experienced with covert ops and they've managed to operate for a long time without getting caught. The second their organization started coming under attack, they would've begun some sort of survival plan.
  14. Ummm... Friday is the 24th. You were right the first time.

Also, the Burn Notice premier is tomorrow night.

No no, you were clear. It's just that I think having the old actors in any of the new movies in any capacity is a bad idea. If the whole point of the JJTrek reboot was to jettison the convoluted history of the franchise and start fresh, then it seems to me that having cameos is a bit counterproductive (not to mention distracting). It's the same thing with rehashing old episodes (which I realize wasn't specifically your point). Why go through all the trouble of establishing a new universe if you're just going to tell the same old stories?

I should probably add that I'm not against a reboot of the Star Trek franchise. My preference is definitely for the prime universe, but I can see the merits in starting over to attract new fans. But the thing is that the reboot needs to do something to distinguish itself from its predecessors so that it can stand on its own, which I think it has failed to do so far.

How about the vampiric cloud that drained blood from its victims? Kirk first encountered it when he served on the Faragutt and remembered it years later as Captain of the Enterprise when they found it again.

    How about the DOOMSDAY machine?

How about Kirk's trip to the Mirror Universe and how we saw in an episode of DS9 what the ramifications of Kirk's speech to goatee Spock were? For that matter does Kirk getting the Enterprise early in this new timeline also affect the mirror universe?

and of course we cannot forget that somewhere in space drifts a certain old ship by the name of BOTANY BAY........

How about how down the line we get visited by the Probe that needed to speak to humpback whales?

Those are some old story points that should be drastically affected by this time change and Kirk gaining the Enterprise 5 years ahead of schedule.
I wouldn't object to seeing the first mission to Talos IV, but only if it was quite drastically changed. And I mean changed to the point where the only things that remain the same are that the Talosians are psychic, their planet is screwed up, and they want humans as a slave race. Everything else would have to be different from what we saw in The Cage.

As for all of those other episodes, I'd rather see them left alone. Paramount/CBS/whoever went to all the trouble of creating a new universe, new ship, and new(ish) crew for the franchise. I'd prefer seeing them do new things instead of rehashing everything from the old universe (which has been deemed unmarketable, so why re-do stuff from it anyway?).

I couldn't disagree more. IMO, if the new universe is going to be successful, it needs to put some distance between itself and the prime universe. No more original cast cameos and no rehashing old stories.

As was pointed out up-thread, Kirk is captain of the Enterprise five years ahead of schedule. He should be dealing with the stuff Pike originally encountered and we never saw.

Seinfeld had maybe a half dozen really good episodes and that many okay ones. Other than that, it's a whole lotta meh. Better than The Nanny or Three's Company? Sure. But so is getting a cinder block dropped on your foot. Not high praise. Seinfeld was so rarely funny, it's not even funny.
I think Seinfeld is one of those marmite shows that people either love or hate. My dad loves that show, but I can't stand it. It had its funny moments, but it was never funny enough to overcome how annoying the characters were.
  22. Reminds me of Huey Freeman's Black Power Glove in the Boondocks.
  23. Third Rock from the Sun. Sci-fi comedy about a group of alien explorers who come to Rutherford, Ohio to learn about Earth and the human race. Also, ALBINO BRAIN CHIGGERS!!!
