...Not only is it empty, but half the arcs I choose do not even start. I'm guessing that they were invalidated when the patch hit and the players just decided it wasn't worth fixing them...
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the good community service! I was quite busy on the weekend, and didn't have time to check out the latest patch, but thanks to your warning, the first thing I'm going to do tonight when I get home is check and see if my Story Arc needs fixing!
Good job there mate! -

I'll try it out... -

So lets just say that if you were driving home from wk, and you hita fork in the road. Path 1 is a long scenic drive with tons of traffic, and path 2 is an short underground tunnel. Both will take you to your desired destination. Why is it that ppl who drive the long scenic route want to force others to do the same? I mean both paths take you to the same place. What if ppl that has driven the scenic route many times before get bored of it and just want to get home faster by taking the tunnels. Is that wrong? Just because you think the shorter way is boring doesn't mean others will too. Some ppl just want to get home, especially if the already driven the scenic route

In my book, Sir, you've just won this Award. -

Are you concerned at all if other players play your arcs or not?
[/ QUOTE ]
Concerned, yes. So much so that I'd bend over backwards and tailor my Arc to cater for certain playstyles so as to please a bigger crowd...? No. -

First off, I think I'd like to know more on what does it mean (for my character AT/build specifically) to "Go Rogue"....
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah this matters. If some of the worst speculations are true (You start over at Level 1) then for me it ain't happenin'. I don't think it'll be that dire or massive change in Char Stats, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
See, I would actually like starting at Lv1 again, if and only if something about my Kheldian power-sets and other build options will be different than building my Kheldian on the Blue-side.
Kheldians with PPP's for example, or with different behaviors to their forms or Castle-knows-what... you know? Anything to break the norm!
EDIT :: Then again, I may decide to bring my Kheldians to the Rogue Isles for the sole reason of introducing Quants/Voids and Cysts to the Villains occupying the Rogue Isles and consider my actions a Heroic act! -

Anyone who thinks this system favors the popular arcs is absolutely uninformed.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Browser favors Arcs according to its' own bizarre logic. It actually seems like an odd combination of Star-rating/Number-of-votes/Arc-ID, but what is guaranteed is that Developer Choice and Hall of Fame arcs, proudly appear on the first page, and I have yet to find one of those that I have enjoyed as much as I have other more obscure ones. -

Turg, is there any possibility that the two CoH installations have a difference in Client Versions?
[/ QUOTE ]
If the client reports a version older than the game servers, it shouldn't connect.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only way I can think of that this might happen is if Turg was accidentally running the Test client on one of the systems... but that seems so unlikely I almost didn't mention it.
[/ QUOTE ]
My past (and professional) experience tells me this is probably a client-configuration issue and when you debug this sort of trouble, you go for the obvious first, i.e. Client Versions... to rule out any such "silly" options.
Like Arcanaville suggested, configuration differences should be ruled out next (i.e. removing all MA/AE related folders and forcing the Client to extract all the files out of the .storyarc original file).
I would not be surprised if the problem is caused by some yet-unknown internal configuration variable that is kept in some .ini file and has different values between the two installations -
[ QUOTE ]
...at the moment I don't have a good way to account for two identical files generating different mission sizes on two different computers. I would need more information to form a hypothesis there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, this needs to be investigated for sure. Off the top of my head, I could think only of the   transformation issue, and since I do not know for sure if that transformation happens on the Client, or on the Server, hence I asked if there may be an actual difference between the client versions (i.e. binaries/configurations) themselves.
It may be quite possible that this is completely a client-configuration issue, but we won't know that without intensive exploration. -
Welcome to the Returning Kheldian Club.
I had two Kheldians, deleted them both, waited a while, then made two other Kheldians and took'em both to Lv50, and now they are the most played characters in my stable.
About the binds, I13 changed things for Kheldians, you now actually have to wait a bit for any form-attack you've executed to go through its animation before the form-switching can occur.
If you ever feel like playing a Kheldian on Infinity, I lead an All-Kheldian SG there and I have to say that being a part of an All-Kheldian team is taking the game into a higher level of challenge and strategic gameplay.
Consider yourself formally invited one and all! -

Long live the Kheldian Empire!

ROFL!!!!!!!! A mirror-verse (evil) Kheldian Empire Arc should sooooooooooo be made!!!! -
I almost never give grammar advice, and always welcome it.
-
Turg, is there any possibility that the two CoH installations have a difference in Client Versions?
-
And I soooooooo had to bite
Thing is though, I did see someones' build that had the Medicine Pool taken on in the characters' teens and I doubt there's a reason to justify something like that other than perhaps 5-slotting some particular IO sets. -
First off, I think I'd like to know more on what does it mean (for my character AT/build specifically) to "Go Rogue". Even if there are no changes to the character AT/build when it Goes Rogue, I think my Kheldians will firmly stay where they are, or perhaps change sides and then change again because they had to do some undercover work
I know for sure that I have at least one Mastermind (perhaps two even) who would become Heroes once they can Go Rogue. -
[ QUOTE ]
Honestly i'm just happy to not see medicine/presense/large amounts of concealment pool in this build. **TAUNT TAUNT**
[/ QUOTE ]
Consider me taunted -
[ QUOTE ]
That is a very good idea. I believe I will have to come up with something like that and maybe incorporate the Swords back in protecting Hostages as they have very nasty end drain attacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that's just gonna annoy the heck out of my Kheldians! -
What hurts Kheldians the most is:
- Damage type we don't resist well (Psi for example).
- Debuffs (especially -Recharge; -Speed; -ToHit).
- Heavy mitigation (Endurance suckers and Knockback).
- Mezz stacking (Especially from Mind Control)
By the way, what's the Arc ID for your Killing Fields Arc? I may give it a try on my PB/WS and next Thursday, I may take my All-Kheldian SG through it.
EDIT :: Ok, found it, #87322, I'll play it asap and see what I happens. - Damage type we don't resist well (Psi for example).
-
I expected as much, Arcanaville.
As for updating your missions, I suppose you could add optional NPC allies to provide different "roles" that the solo player may lack. -

Yeah, but he calmed down and wrote what I thought was an excellent second post to fix thing up a bit.

...I don't think that any form of non exploitive farming has any chance of ruining this game and it is one of the driving forces that keep re-subs each month....
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. I think however, that the Devs get to definie what is considered non exploitive farming, not the playerbase. Agreed?
[/ QUOTE ]
*
Yeah they do as a team not as one dev going off on a rant, then having to comeback and recant the majority of what was conveyed in the original rant.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know... the last time I let my Developers meet as a team and affect the direction of were our product is going, we all ended up regretting it and having to "correct-course" later on and take the exact route I originally described to them.
I think you were talking about the Lead here going off a rant, right?! -

I only think the ticket nerf went a little bit to far is all, regardless of what type of toon you have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Several people are saying the rewards before the nerf were huge to begin with. I for one, agree. -
[ QUOTE ]
I never said anything like that. If you want to make an arc soley on story, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't mind getting a 0-3 star rating from me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't mind, you can vote however you like. I on the other hand, when faced with an Arc I dislike, solely based on it having no story, I simply abstain from rating it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Showing the different sides of MA is better then constantly cutting people down.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're the one who constantly keeps trying to "show people the reward-oriented side of MA", well, let me tell you that the reward-oriented side of MA was already made fun of with that vidoe of Captain Awesome with his awesome button.
I'm not saying don't make or don't play MA story-arcs for the difficulty factor. I am saying, don't be surprised when the Devs get to tell you what their definitions of those factors are!
As a leader of an All-Kheldian SG, I know a bit about difficult missions and challenges. We definitely are not going into an All-Kheldian team to maximize profit and harvest Risk-vs-Rewards factors. I also don't think any of the SG-mates that team with me would have a fit because NPC's give less rewards per more risk.
EDIT :: By the way, looking at the character list in your signature leads me to believe that you usually choose AT's/builds that are quite survivable and do very good DPS, no wonder things don't seem challenging enough for you. Please correct me if I'm wrong. -
