IMHO, MA is a very limited tool for interactive story telling.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quoted and fixed to convey my feelings on the subject.
About the solo/team in MA? I solo for story-arcs, and team in AE arcs for the shear fun of the chaos of it. -
Has anyone at least seen an explanation of why are these animations removed?!
-
Well, you can look at AE like you're doing now... or you can take joy in actually teaching people with power-leveled characters who are at Lv50 now but know not how to actually play their characters.
About not being able to get normal mission teams? I'd bet you're experiencing that mostly because you're looking for PuGs. I have no trouble finding teams, even on low-level characters, because when I want to play with people, I first of all look at my friend-lists.
Restricting the AE now, especially after the Devs have promised it to be a tool for growing a character from Lv1 to Lv50, would annoy so many people (the Devs included) that it's quite impractical.
Make the best of the situation, adopt a n00b and have fun teaching them, or do what I did... take a break only to come back reinvigorated, but most of all... take a breath and smile, it's just a game you know... -

...a transformation where the hostage is removed and an Enemy is placed. It can even be set Rogue, killing the enemy group that summons it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those transformations (remove Entity-X and replace it with Entity-Y if Trigger-Z fired) I've wanted since the Devs declared they were thinking of MA, and not just for hostages in rituals, but for every and any NPC we can place!!
/signed in triplicates! -

Darn those pesky devs making me slog through 50 levels before I could actually experience the glory and bliss that is my PB and WS, shame on them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you imagine starting a Kheldian character and hoping to level it up without first gaining the knowledge in gameplay mechanics that leveling (and teaming with) non-Kheldian characters gave you?
[ QUOTE ]
People try to get to 50 fast for so many reasons.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very true. However, in essence, these MMO games are all about gaining levels anyway and then repeating your content-of-choice or repeating the whole thing with a new character... this makes me wonder, why even bother to make the trip to Lv50 as fast as you can? It's not really like the gameplay changes that much, is it? -
Personally, I think Kheldians are great for people who love taking risks
-
People are already discussing color customizations on Kheldians, and dual-builds is very useful for Kheldians if you have the patience to utilize it
-
Which is why Knowmad is probably right assuming that was a young kid

I know it isn't the original purpose of the power, but that's the point of personal gameplay.
[/ QUOTE ]
I might use the power like that myself, and I can definitely respect personal gameplay choices. Thanks for the suggesion. -
[ QUOTE ]
...I mean, we do play this game to enjoy it, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
But that's exactly where the issues begin. The definition of fun for some is not the same for others. Some people will never have fun unless they can figure out and employ every technique (even the ones deemed as exploits by the Devs) to maximize something, may it be damage, soft-capping defenses and damage-resists or XP-gain.
The moment a tool that tells you how much XP you're making by the minute comes out, that's where these things start, and to be honest, in my transition phase from playing just single-player RPG's to playing MMO's as well, I became quite disgusted with the notion of "optimizing" my XP/l00t gain so my character would level-up and improve its stats faster. For me, enjoyment of CoX comes with enjoying the game mechanics and the gameplay differences in each AT/power-set combination, not at how fast I can level this, or that character... but as always... YMMV. -
First of all, I think we forgot to say: "Welcome pinkLady"!

Peacebringer is by far the weirdest class i have played so far.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very true... especially for TriFormer Kheldians.
[ QUOTE ]
...it seems like mostly none of the powers can be used while your in a shifted form.
[/ QUOTE ]
Human-form powers are inaccessible in the forms and vice-versa. It's one of the AT's limitations, but also what makes playing a TriFormer challenging and interesting.
[ QUOTE ]
how do i know where to put my skills points...
[/ QUOTE ]
Like many have said, read the guides, but also, play your PB at least until level 20 and get both Bright Nova and White Dwarf so you can gain an appreciation of what sort of PB you want yours to be.
[ QUOTE ]
...so after level 50 do you not really use the shape shifted forms?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have both a Lv50 TriFormPB and a Lv50 TriFormShade and could not imagine playing them without their form, especially at Lv50. For me personally, the forms and the array of tricks Kheldians can pull off thanks to the forms is what makes me still play them, and still use my forms.
In summation, welcome, read the guides and enjoy your Kheldians, they can be very special with proper care and grooming. -

Slot starvation is a good name for it. I used to call it "an enhancement slot deficiency" on good days, and "NOT ENOUGH F#$%^# SLOTS!" on the bad ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Even with a build like this one, assuming I had the funds and patience to put it together, I'd still feel slot-starved. -
[ QUOTE ]
Never had that problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
What problem didn't you have? Slot starvation? -
You know... having both PB and WS at Lv50, both TriFormers, I have to say that being a TriForm keeps me so busy when I play, and I have so many options with either of my Kheldians, that I've come to realize that yes, it'd be nice to get more powers for variety sake, but we're already slot-starved to the extreme, so I'll gladly take more slots instead of more powers.
However, with the introduction of IO's and IO Sets, the slot-starvation issue isn't as brutal as before and as more IO Sets get introduced things do get better.
Being able to slot both my single-target Nova attacks with Chance to Hold has made it even more fun to play even though I'm still slot-starved. -
Well, in our All-Kheldian SG, Glowing Touch and the Med Pool prove to be very useful for both PB's and WS's.
-
I already take those Death Mages and Nemesis/Warhulk Bosses (all orange, I usually don't bother fighting them when they're less than orange) with mostly my White Dwarf so Lightform may prove to be somewhat of an overkill?
Anyway, it seems the synergy between QFlight and LF should be helpful, but I don't want to invest in taking QFlight and giving up something else just to make LF safer. Is QFlight so important for this?
Also, what about the Fitness Pool, can you easily survive LF crashes without Health/Stamina? -
Dull Pain, you mean Essence Boost?
-
I just got rid of my alternate build that had Glowing Touch and the Med Pool.
-
I figured it is survivable with the "candy", but I was going for something like power-synergies, that perhaps would prevent the crash from being so bad... like maybe using Essence Boost and Conserve Power before the crash could actually lessen the health/endurance loss?
About monitoring the icons and their blinking, I already have the icons showing and blinking, but those visual cues are a little too subtle in the heat of battle.
My character is already a TriFormPB, but there are times where White Dwarf just doesn't cut it tanking-wise and seeing the numbers on Lightform, I figure it's a better tank-form at least for the limited time it's on. The crash though could kill you, and honestly, seeing as Warshades get Eclipse that can stack on top of the Black Dwarf armor, I'm left wanting here... you know? -
Ok, so after a long time without Lightform, I've decided to dedicate my 2nd TriFormPB build to a build with Lightform. After respeccing (and with an completely unslotted build) I tried Lightform and after the 3 minutes (or however long it lasts), I crashed, of course.
I wasn't prepared for that crash and losing all HP and Endurance kinda freaked me out, especially the part where you can't regenerate and recover! So, my question is basically, how do you deal with this crash, what tactics do you employ to a) detect when LF is about to crash; b) protect yourself after LF crashed while you wait to regenerate and recover? -
Tint the forms...?!!!!!
Here's hoping!
-
I don't think there is a way to actually tie in character metrics to arc specific challenges without regards to the bonuses themselves (in case of IO-set bonuses). Judging by the size of the bonus list isn't enough, you have to consider the type of bonus versus the type of in-mission enemies.
Just my two INF. -
Be advised that the double-Mire stunt while still possible, isn't as effective as it used to be to enhance Dark Nova's blasts. These days, what I normally do, is teleport into a spawn in Black Dwarf, execute Black Dwarf Mire, then hit the keybind that drops me to Human-form and executes Eclipse, and then hit the keybind for Sunless Mire, followed by a shift to either Black Dwarf or Dark Nova as I see fit.
Using Black Dwarf Mire to boost the accuracy of Eclipse and Sunless Mire allows me to slot both Eclipse and Sunless Mire with less emphasis on Accuracy and more on other things.
