The major difference being you do have to leave the AE building to find them.
[/ QUOTE ]
And yet, when I was doing the Unai Kemen story arc on my PB, those Maltas found me! Darn you Sappers! -
I don't get it... wasn't it already decided and agreed-on that VEATs were meant to be easier to handle, and less frustrating than HEATs?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Sometimes the excrement hits the fan. In such a situation what does a SoA do? They keep attacking and hoping that pure damage will solve everything.
[/ QUOTE ]
And... isn't that thematically fitting a Villain who's all about raw brute force?
[ QUOTE ]
What does my warshade do? Protects the team. If my WS is on a team with 7 blasters, I know I don't need to worry much about dealing damage. I dish it out with the best of them, but I know it's not my primary way of helping the team. I turn on the stun aura toggle and start keeping the enemies from hitting my squishy team mates. stunned enemies do zero damage after all.
[/ QUOTE ]
And... isn't this exactly how Heroes should be?! Especially Heroes that are supposed to be EPIC?! -
I want in on the next Mothership Raid... pretty please?
-
[ QUOTE ]
But by the same token its easy to find enemy groups that already exist that are completely tailored to be useless against a chosen powerset in the regular content.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh...... you mean how Council are to my Kheldians? and how most things are to my Ill/Rad or Plant/Thorn Dominator?!
Yeah, you'd be surprised how easy this game gets when you build right and play right. -

Just to be clear, there was no snark, no sarcasm, no flames in my response, just a statement of fact.

I know, and thank you for that. -

Purples are oranges on steroids.
They usually give larger increase in a powers' performance. They usually carry higher chances of their procs to activate and generally give better global bonuses.
[/ QUOTE ]
Inspirations don't have procs, nor global bonuses.

Sorry, I'm having a bad WEEK of reading miscomprehension -
I'd rather the Devs fix the exploits. /unsigned.
-
To me, both Kheldians and SoAs represent different philosophical views about commanding the battlefield. Kheldians command the battlefield through leading by example, often risking their own hide, while SoAs, like a properly cliched Villain, command the battlefield by throwing their teammates into battle and buffing them through their various buffs while all they need do throw AoE's or mez enemies from the sidelines. Sort of like a Mastermind, but a lot more active without requiring pet micromanagement.
This of course does not prevent a Kheldian from playing as a timid Nova mini-blaster, or an SoA taking the front-line and tanking, but thematically, I'm very pleased with both, despite SoAs being lackluster due to my personal thematic views. -
I predict the more exploits are removed from AE, the livelier the game will get as a whole
-
I'll go on record saying that since AE lets us customize our custom critters and their appearance, and since there are rumors Going Rogue may also involve improvements to the CoX engine (not sure about this, but I read it somewhere on these forums), the day may not be long (i.e. sometime 2010) when Masterminds may be able to customize their pets.
In my opinion, the only true reason not to allow this would be because of the network issues Mastermind pets already cause, and these issues could possible be addressed by improving both the graphic engine and network code, on both Client and Server sides.
So... don't hold your breath, but I don't see why it can't be done. -

<humor>
Actually, the Devs should develop a special datamine filter that evaluates a Story Arc and apply double XP weekend bonuses only to those Story Arcs that are definitely 100% non-farmable.

Thanks for reading.

Both a TriFormPB or a TriFormShade, can be quite inexpensive and yet offer fun gameplay aspects in all three forms allowing you to do some AoE carnage and have a go at hard targets. If INF is no object, just sprinkle purples all around and you'd be laughing maniacally with every AoE executed.

I think we can safely assume that if on Infinity, I can get my All Kheldian SG to gather up a team of 5 people (4+myself) to do some Lv50 Unai Kemen arcs on Lv5 Difficulty against Malta/Knives and some Carnie paper missions, the game is still alive, at least for the 5 people directly involved. -
[ QUOTE ]
I know I can ,and thanks for the correction, but it's the custom groups that take up most of my file size.
[/ QUOTE ]
I try and use custom groups as the main flavoring of my story-arc, but not the only one. In essence, I imagine my story-arc as a build-up that employs several normal in-game enemy groups but culminates in a stand-off against the custom group I've created especially for the story-arc. I'm restricting myself that way not just because of the size limitations, there are other factors involved. -

i play mostly human but will switch to nova if im comfy with that. i dont have any slots in the dwarf powers because i was just using that form for a panic button but i do have all the human and nova attacks at least 4 slotted (1acc,3dam)
[/ QUOTE ]
If you are teaming a lot, you should feel a lot more comfortable using Nova and Dwarf these days because they were recently modified (I13) to take advantage of the inherent team buffs we Kheldians get from out teammates, so now, Nova can actually have some mez-protection if you're teaming with Controllers, for example.
[ QUOTE ]
the nova has more damage overall it seems but when i see a tough foe that needs to go down quick i always go with the burst of BU + IS + RS and it never lets me down (unless i miss)
[/ QUOTE ]
BU/IS/RS is awesome for sure, but it requires that you go to melee range, while Nova actually has better range than your Human blasts, you can use this to your advantage, and this allows you to blast from range as a Nova then switch to Dwarf to tank a bit.
[ QUOTE ]
my problem is that the human ranged attacks are underwhelming.
[/ QUOTE ]
That they are, unless you're going Human-only in which case you can also grab Assault/Tactics to boost your Human attacks. As a TriFormPB, I'm more invested in Human powers that don't require me to constantly be in Human-form, so powers such as Solar Flare, Photon Seekers, Dawn Strike and Pulsar are the ones I focus on. The reason is simple, I can use my keybinds to drop from Dwarf form and execute a Human-only attack and right away I hit another keybind to re-Dwarf myself... This lets me taunt stuff to me using White Dwarf Antagonize and then I hit the key for Photon Seekers and immediately re-Dwarf myself after those fluffy energy bombs are being created. The chaos is just wonderful!
[ QUOTE ]
would it be a more efficient use of my slots to take those slots from the ranged human attacks and slot the dwarf attacks for damage, rech, etc.?? im thinking of moving slots around because i still like the Nova form at times but it just seems like ranged attacks in human form are a waste of time...
[/ QUOTE ]
That's basically the idea, other than one little interesting aspect. The Chance for Hold proc IO enhancement that you can slot in any PB ranged single-target attack, Human or Nova! This enables my TriFormPB to sometimes hold minions and lieutenants with a simple one-two ranged blast. It's even more awesome when right after using IStrike on a Boss that has hold-protection, I can use my two single-target Human form blasts to stack extra hold points and finally hold the Boss! Think outside the box...
[ QUOTE ]
my human melee burst is it better to start with ranged or drop into dwarf for more melee carnage (and better survivability too)?
[/ QUOTE ]
That depends on the situation and what you're fighting, whether you're solo or teamed and which strategy is more fun for you. Personally, I usually love to start a fight in Nova, add some really got damage and mez effects with Human form powers and finish stuff in Dwarf, unless everything is mezzed in which case I'll go back to Nova and blast'em. -
[ QUOTE ]
(already have the first three slots with +Res set IOs for an hp boost.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely not a bad idea!
[ QUOTE ]
think I will post the build after I'm done.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll be glad to see that. -
Good luck with that.... coloring your shields the color of the wind
-
It's been my experience that for SoA's to shine in teams they need merely stand there, for Kheldians to shine in teams... they need to be all over the place, YMMV of course, but to me that's the big difference right there.
-
Yes, all of those!
But why such foul language?

Thanks for the link! I was able to use the info in combination with another post to get what I needed. My WS is still my fav toon to play. He's been 50 for some time now but I'm working on Merits, Badges, & IO's now.

Keep up the good work, it pays well in the end!
