    Kheldian vs. AV

To beat an AV you have to combine 3 things, debuff the AV's regenerative abilities, pack enough DPS, and keep yourself alive. These 3 factors have to be consistent and constant and this causes Kheldians to be less capable of AV soloing than other AT's.

Rare cases may be able to accomplish this, especially using external DPS sources (Shivans, Nukes, etc..) and trays of Insps, and not every AV can be taken down even like that.

EDIT :: I forgot to mention, but a PB would probably have an easier time defeating AV's since it does not require enemies to either buff or heal itself. That said however, a WS would be able to, at least for short bursts, pack more DPS for the short length of time that Mire buffs were still available, but while focusing on the AV, the enemies around the WS may cause too much disruption on their own.
  2. Well, *I* thought my post was funny...
  3. Listen up guys! And listen GOOD cause I ain't gonna say this again!

The Medicine Pool is required, yes.. I said r-e-q-u-i-r-e-d on Kheldian Human-only support builds who are dedicated secondary support characters for All Kheldian Teams/SGs.

Even then, most use of Medicine Pool powers happens BEFORE the battle, and during battle only in emergencies such as attempting to keep your dedicated "tankers" alive.

I know this because I lead such an SG. Take my word for it, All Kheldain Teams are epic in every meaning of the word. Our victories are epic, and so are our failures!

In any other circumstance, the Medicine Pool, or any other Power Pool for that matter, is to be considered a luxury item. Sheesh! should someone write a guide for this?!

    Are we clear?
  4. It's not that your counter point doesn't have a point... but there's still the real issue of having to take powers at Lv47, and by that time, some of the available power choices do not seem to contribute to the individual Warshade-player above and beyond what their current build already accomplishes. So... they dip into the pools.

The only question that remains, is, do they dip into the pools because they're copying someone elses' build, or because someone told them to, or are they doing so with a firm resolution and clear knowledge that the powers they reject are not worthy of their interest?

As long as people clearly know what they're giving up in exchange for Pool Powers, and as long as they build their Warshades to fulfill their perceived role(s) on a team, I for one see no problem with their decisions.

...I do feel a counterpoint needs to be made so that the consensus isn't "Khelds should probably take medicine to be good".

    [/ QUOTE ]
Woah!!!! I've never, ever, heard that this was the consensus. Did I again, miss a memo?!
  6. The real question of course, is how much exactly will a subscription to Windows Live cost once those Apps go on it... Anyone who has an XBOX 360 has a free Xbox Live account, but there are things you can only do with a Gold account. I would not put it past Microsoft to somehow rope people into paying for it.
  7. Haven't tried it, but heard it should work. I recommend trying it on the Test Server before committing to it on Live.
  8. Even before I13, and before IO-sets, you could still build a Kheldian for solo-play using nothing but SO's.
  9. Unchain Essence, the most fun nuke to use (with proper keybinds) from Dwarf form just after Black Dwarf Mire and before the next Eclipse
  10. The question is though, will this affect AE story-arc missions, or just the normal content?
  11. Last night on Infinity, I noticed the sky going green in Peregrine Island, right before I zoned back out to Talos...

Of course now it's even MORE expensive, yay.

  13. Hopefully OF2, will soon be able to post Positrons' response...
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    Forgot to ask: how's Quasar?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You know what? It's probably awesome, but I never bothered with it... I probably should find some way to take it... but the problem, as always, isn't really taking the power, but rather finding the slots for it.
  15. I think the best we could hope to get are "less opaque" colors.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The pain of agreeing with xenite may kill me but you do need at least one KB ressist IO. :P

    ...
OK, I can resist it.... GWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  17. Yes, just reading it now... hopefully we'll get there in the next round...

About the only redeeming feature it has right now is pointing out what needs to be nerfed until someone can put it back later in a non-exploitable form.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, because essentially, this is how the exploiters put in the effort to help beta-test stuff

Paraphrased: DR-on rewards for clicking of the same type of glowie for X hours.

Unfortunately this sorta ALSO can penalize someone who is using the MA legitimately. So I'd vote "no" on it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree, but unfortunately this isn't up to a vote if the Devs truly decide this is how things should be. I didn't offer this as a suggestion to fix things mind you, I just pointed out that the option exists.

Worse yet, this DR concept could be adopted to handle NPC-defeats as well, which would discourage farming them, and encourage people to move from arc to arc (either AE or normal game content) to maximize profit.

If the farming exploits are too unpalatable for the Devs, I wouldn't be surprised to log in one day and see a DR system like this was implemented. I just hope that at the very least, a lot more content would be added to the game so that finishing different arcs one after the other becomes the new farming rather than grinding the same mission again and again.
  19. Hmmm... personally, I'd replace Stealth for Grant Invisibility (for making your fluffy pets or team-mates invisible so they too can stealth-up to enemies), and in your teleportation powers, I'd slot some Knockback Protection and Slow Resistance IO's.

Also with the amount of added accuracy you've amassed, I think you can safely replace the one Accuracy IO in Black Dwarf Antagonize with a Chance for Psi Damage and thus turn the power into a, highly unreliable but free, AoE minor damage power. Plus, it's really always funny to see a Boss get defeated by being taunted!

That's about it for now, I'll drop in later if I have any other ideas...
  20. d00d! Just the ability to actually AIM your pistols at someone's leg and immobilize/knockback them with one shot is... or... consider that by aiming at a CoT Mages' hands you can prevent them from casting spells... I mean... totally OP'ed!
  21. [ QUOTE ]
In the end, myself and others will farm anything and everything we can to get the rewards we're after. And there's nothing you or the Devs can do about it.
    *
That is...unless they put timers on every single mission in the game...which we know they wont do.

    [/ QUOTE ]
They don't have to resort to putting timers on missions, they can simply put counters on individual rewards from individual tasks within a mission. For example, the first time within a 24 hours period that you click a glowie in a mission, you get a set amount of XP/INF, every glowie of the same type within those 24 hours, will give you less and less using a DR concept. The same can be applied to NPC's within a mission. It will be transparent and the only way you'll track it is if you actually paid attention to your rewards like most farmers probably would.

The rest of us would simply continue to play the game as is... and for what it is, an entertaining journey of you and your character from Lv1 to Lv50 and beyond to becoming the best Lv50 you can imagine you need to be.

This was already done with Mertis IIRC, and I have no doubt that the Devs would gladly do this if they would feel it's the only way to "save CoX".

So, as this threads' title suggests... there are definitely harmful farmers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    *
No because it turns the term "farm" into an over-broad pejorative.
    *
The people you're talking about are abusing exploits.

    [/ QUOTE ]
OK... how'bout we all agree that exploit farming is harmful then?

    Some MA ideas

    [ QUOTE ]
There have been many posts suggesting things like "Danger Rooms" or "Simulators" etc. that are specific to a SG/VG. Adding access to the AE from the Mission Computer may kill 2 birds with 1 stone in this instance.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I had a complete thread about this, that got purged. That was months before AE even became known as a planned-feature...
  24. Is it a Dark/Dark Defender, Felecia?!
