    Cyborg leakage

    [ QUOTE ]
Well the US forums have pulled the leak with a GM stating it'll be official later this afternoon US time

    [/ QUOTE ]

There you go, thats 100% more than we got here.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Well, all that plus I would probably get some numbnuts send an email saying "thanks for reporting your problem with Guild Wars", which I have had in the past.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or better still reply to you in French, you then reply saying you cant speak French, then have your next reply still in French.

    That's very satisfying too.

    Cyborg leakage

    [ QUOTE ]
Just odd that we've had no mention of it just yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just keep an eye on the US forum, holding your breath for news here is bad for ya health.

    Cyborg leakage

    [ QUOTE ]
The reply 30-day marketing comment surprised me, I had no idea the U.S forums had specifically asked for it ontop of it being included as a gamecard extra, for that Insinuation that it came from the Dev.table I apologise.
I will however standby my two comments of:

    [/ QUOTE ]

I cant be arsed trawling through the US forum, but i doubt they did ask to pay monthly for it, they probably just said they wanted it, or wanted to pay for it, as in a one off payment.

    Cyborg leakage

    [ QUOTE ]
so the idea you are saying should have been 'canned' is the one of "listening to the community". As far as I'm concerned, that's a good idea

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shame they couldnt have listened to the many good ideas the comunity have instead of that 1 [censored] one.

Dont suppose the fact that ones makes money impacted on the decision to pluck it from the rest either

    Cyborg leakage

    [ QUOTE ]
That's a bit much... I'm all for supporting the game and all, but bugger that for a game of soldiers!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep i hope that jet pack is the epic fail it deserves to be.
  9. I dont think they are interested in replacing people, just getting rid of what they got.

    AFK!

    [ QUOTE ]
That doesn't affect me. I have quite literally refused to seriously roleplay with people I had got to know quite well because they thought it was fine to wander off and do the ironing during RP sessions. I have got very angry with my other half because she insisted that she could roleplay live, and in tells with someone else at the same time (not technically AFK, but it gives the same result).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yea i can see that having half your role playing squad AFK would break the emersion.
  11. Londoner

    AFK!

Depends if i know them or not, if i do i dont care how many AFK's they have.

If i dont know them, not very many.
  12. Iv had this idea go through my head before when im short of a sk for someone, but gave it up because of the obvious abuse.

1 fire kin and 7 lowbies getting pl'd.

Not that im adverse to that idea but i can see a lot who might be

    Inf Transfer Con

Edit by GhostRaptor: If you have reason to believe that someone is running a con scheme in-game, send a petition about that person and it will be investigated. Please don't bring it to the forums and offer to share that persons name with others. This is the equivalent of a 'name and shame' and is not allowed.

(Note: posting a simple warning that you have run across, and reported, a con that is being run in-game is allowed.)
  14. Yes it happens to me all the time now.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Buying the space isn't generally the bit that causes issues. It's the translation, checking the translation, altering the German artwork because something is three times as long in German as it is in French, getting the legal disclaimers on each different national ad written by lawyers from each country, getting the legal disclaimers on each different national ad checked by different lawyers from each country, getting the German artwork changed again because the creative has decided that the new version ruins his vision, checking the translation for a final time and changing the stuff that got missed the first time, meaning the whole process has to be started again, dealing with flak because you only had a Flemmish ad in Belgum, not a French one as well, several magazines being sent the ad in the wrong language, and then after everything has been published, some git on the internet spotting that some perfectly innocent text on the English one means something very, very rude in Slovenian.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I see, cant imagine for the life of me why companies do it then.

Maybe in practice done by people that know what they are doing, and do it every day as part of their job, its not the nightmare it looks in your block of text.

Or maybe it is i dunno, all im saying is a bit of EU advertising cant hurt can it.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, but with 20+ different languages it costs around 20 times the amount to market to the whole EU than it does to the whole of the US.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd have thought you would use 1 publishing group that publish the same magazines in multiple languages to avoid that being the case.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
These should both have been duffed before release.

NCSoft published too many MMOs, instead of getting solidly behind a small number. How many MMOs do Blizzard publish? Exactly one, which means they can give it the whole of thier marketing budget, and they aren't competing whith themselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with that in the most part, but what i am saying is that if EU CoX was the stone bonker you are saying it is, i think we would all by now be playing on US servers.

Having seen this lots ability to axe things that aint working out, regardless of wether they should or should not have ever seen the light of day in the first place.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Indeed, in terms of cost/profit, the entire EU operation was probably not a good idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Having seen this company's track record of duffing non runners (Korean CoX, Auto Assault, this recent lot in Brighton and whatever else)

I'd have to say i disagree with that analysis.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Bit of an attack on the whole country there,

    [/ QUOTE ]

Greek food is probably a bit spicey for him....

    Anyway

    [ QUOTE ]
What would be the point in advertising in Greece? there is no greek localisation, no greek GMs, Greece has a tiny population anyway. Face it, you aint worth thier while.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wrong as usual, if they had that attitude this game would not have left the states.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
No, it isn't. The most common cause of buisiness failure is becoming overextended. Becoming larger increases the chance of very large profits in the long term, but decreases the chance of buisiness survival in the short term.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wrong. Most common cause of business failure is not getting paid by other business's.

Or under capitalisation, for start up business's.
  21. Probably turn up in an expansion pack sometime.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I do however see an issue wtih rare salvage and recipes being stored longer term and wonder if we have that facility how it might affect the game economy

    [/ QUOTE ]

We have got that facility, store recipes on chars or on the auction, and salvage in the vault.

I cant see that its had any effect on the economy one way or the other.

If you get something you want you keep it, if you dont you sell it.
  23. Yep, every char i make i give a lump of inf too.

Nothing wrong with it at all.
