DP/energy here. I've meant to make a boost range-r ever since launch or so. Figured now was as good a time as any. Plus, lots of stuff I can skip in the secondary .

They always do double xp at the worst times for me. Son's birthday and friend's baby shower this weekend.

I didn't realize it had started already though, weee I can get in a little tonight.

Guess this means I didn't get into closed beta :P.

So you guys are still finding groups and seeing activity during normal hours then? It seems kind of like an mmo cliche but, every time I check back in I see less and less folks.

I've been gone a while, and search-fu wasn't finding anything so please forgive me if this is posted somewhere obvious.

So, I've been away a while, but I popped in last night to start up a couple of pistol characters.

In the hour or two I was on, I saw 1 other person in the red side newb area maybe 2 blue side. Are there really that few people playing new characters these days?

Also, Pinnbadges was totally silent at the times I monitored it. Did it move elsewhere or die?

On a more serious note I realy hope I can get the fist slam/foot stomp replacement ported over to stone melee to replace fault or heck even tremor. People laugh but yes I use fault. I find Tremor/Burn/Fault/Burn/Tremor etc. to be a very effective on my favorite map full of little Nemesis baddies.

Who would laugh at you for using fault? Fault is freaking awesome. Tremor is less so, but still pretty useful.

I thought I was the only one...it used to drive my wife crazy when we watched tv more often. She certainly thinks I'm a little bit crazy.

I'm more able to deal with it now...but from time to time I'll still get up and leave the room if a movie or show is getting out of hand.

I'm not sure if "embarrassing" describes exactly the situations which make be feel all fingernails-on-chalkboardy, but it's close!

Guy sounds like a non-gamer who thought he stumbled onto some brilliant gaming revelation which, to the other 99% of the gamers, is common sense.

I've been a part of researchademia, and this guy's "research" seems exceptionally crappy - I guess it may amuse people who know nothing about MMOs, but like to sit above things and pontificate about them.

I just skimmed the "research paper" itself. Really don't think it's something someone deserves to get paid for.

Then again, mixing "common sense" with a bunch of references to other articles is pretty much playing by-the-book...

My first car, that I drove to high school in the early 90s, was a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis and it had a functioning 8 track player. It was later given to one of my uncles who turned it into a shrimp boat (the car, not the 8 track player.) *When you have multiple MM allies, only one of them summons pets (at least if they all share a primary)
*mms with kin secondary don't buff nearly as reliably (or possibly at all, mine never sb'd me) as those with controller primaries or defender secondaries.
*mms with sonic secondary don't appear to ever use the individual bubble buff

We already know its possible for some exemptions because there have been reports that the defender lightning storm still behaves the same as on live as on test yet the controller/corrupter/mastermind version of the power is now uneffected by recharge. I do think at the very least if you are making the powers not take recharge any more and if they arent able to be targeted anyways then maybe you can up the damage or change the recharge itself. I just really hate for lightning storm to become worthless outside of boss/av fights.

Weird, I specifically tested the Dom version of VS several months ago, and could not get any kind of visible recharge effect from any amount of sneaky IO +rech slotting.

I assumed it had been fixed quite a while ago.

I thought I tested LS and didn't see much effect there either..I'll have to double check on test when I get some time.

[edit: I've always had hasten on my LS users...so I probably just internalized that firing speed as the "base" firing speed...man, I'm dreading seeing the current firing speed. Heh.]

I've never had a problem like this before, nor have I ever tried a version of the drivers that caused the game to crash this bad. I can't roll back because another game I play needs the newer ones.

NVIDIA released 182.08 version of Forceware on March 3rd. Perhaps try upgrading to the latest drivers?

I finally had time to update to that version...now it won't even try to load zones, just sits there after you click a character. Pretttty much forever.

Just did a full file verify. Tried running it in a smaller window...turned off multi-monitor support (which always worked before)..now it seems to work.

Re-enabled second monitor, quit game, restarted and all problems are back.

So...some kind of problem with Nvidia + game + dual monitor support? (which used to work fine...).

I haven't played in a month or so.

This is literally one of the most awesome things I've ever seen hit an MMO, if not "the".

Of course, we'll see how it plays out in sur-reality, but I have high hopes.

Yes. I have all character slots unlocked on the only server I play on, so future year-mark Veteran badges won't really do me any good as far as additional character slots go.

REALLY surprised that the power pool thing was posted without a clarification. Rather vague wording.

It *seems* like it's meant to mean that we can choose any of the powers from the travel pools at level 6 WITHOUT a prereq.

If it's anything other than that - ie. just unlocking the 2,3 @ 6 but still requiring a tier 1,2 prereq (so 8 would be min for fly, sj, tp, ss) then that's much less interesting.

Based on the wording, it seems to me like it could be either.
