and boy is my Mids tired!
...what? I got nothin'.
But seriously... love the Mids. And yes, I have 70+ alts on Pinn. Because that's where it's at. -
My first mm and first mm to 40 (when that was the cap) was nin/pois. I never played him past 40. After spending lots of time with other combinations well... I found nin/pois to be the most intensely demanding mm combo out there (and I've tried most of them). That was the only mm I felt I ever really *needed* to set up tons of complicated binds for - individual move & target orders (especially for the end heavy, weak single target heal that we know and love as Alkaloid...), etc.
On no other combo - including other /pois or other nin/ have I felt that a full bind & macro setup was so necessary. I suspect that nec/pois will be close, but fractionally better due to the pets' self heals and the lich's control.
What I'm saying here is... you're pretty familiar with how it's going to be by now, so if that's not your thing it's probably in your best interest to roll up a new MM. -
I picked up the musculature common last night on my bots/dark. As others have said, one of the the hardest things (if not the hardest) for mms to come by is extra +dmg, and I really don't *need* anything so I just went with the gravy.
One thing I've already noticed is that it allows me to use my 2 slotted thunderstrike (I had nothing else screaming at me at 49 and I wanted an attack, but only had 1 free slot) much more effectively.
It's a shame the incarnate stuff doesn't rsk down or it would allow for some interesting builds, but I suppose that's the price we pay. Still, I rarely rsk sooo... I'm tempted to try a build specifically targeted at alpha slotting. Maybe after I make that first billion...
My other 50 mms are a nec/dark which I'll also be grabbing another dam/immob alpha and a nec/pain that I'm torn between recharge/heal and damage/def debuff... I'll probably have to get both.
I have to say that, even though I'm not big on attack power focused MMs, the builds you can get with the damage alpha interest me. -
Quote:Not only do pets still run into melee, but now they run past the spawn you're attacking into the next unaggro'd spawn and start attacking them. Had this happen more than once in a tip mission about 10mins ago. Oh and this case the unaggro'd spawn happend to be waaaay around the corner of a cave mission, and out of LoS. I saw the Assbot run around the corner whilst I was dealing with 7 or 8 DE, and moved to see where the hell he was going (all the while spamming /goto) and he ran right into the next spawn and opened fire on them. Happened again in a large cave room of 3 spawns (with quite a space between them).
Hmmm. I have noticed pets seeming to ignore goto/follow orders more than what I consider normal, but that was before the new patch as well. I'm currently doing incarnate stuff with my bots/dark, so I'll keep an eye out tonight. -

I'm playing one through goldside right now, currently at 19. The one thing I've noticed is that I have worse end usage issues than I can recall on a brute. This is probably just because I haven't played any scrappers lately.
It's fun, but my attack chain just seems to be lacking something currently, although I just added the pbaoe and that is helping. It looks like the kind of combo that will really blossom late game (28+), when you can leverage the pbaoe aura (which I don't have yet) and LR in, as the early game is not particularly impressive. -
All these new "level 1 auras" really kind of mess with the coolness of unlocking an aura at 30.
A: "Sweet, I got to level 30 and did these missions and look what I got!"
B: "Big deal, I spent 10 bucks, got mine at level 1, AND it looks cooler."
I know it's not power creep, but...eh. -
Quote:Just checked, not set to compat mode, but thanks for the idea.I don't know if this will help you with your problem, Lobster. But I had a similar issue some time ago where I could not turn off the game without doing the 3 finger salute. The game would freeze when I exit and hang.
My problem was the executable file was set to compatibility mode and this was causing the game to hang when I exit game. We fixed the problem by going into properties, then compatibility tab, and unchecked compatibility mode in both the game's shortcut and executable file.
Like I said, Im not sure if this will help with your problem, but I thought I mention it. -

My system (Laptop with Nvidia 9800M) was running horribly in game:
*Crashed any time I opened the costume editor window
*Would drop to 3-5 fps for 30 seconds every 4-10 minutes, at random, no matter what graphics setting I had it on.
*80% of the time the game would not close when I exited, and I had to do a kill task.
(The 3rd one just started happening in the last 2 weeks, and the costume crash started maybe a week after GR went live, but the horrible lag started with GR).
ANYWAY.
On the 14th Nvidia released new beta drivers, for 260 and I installed them last night. All problems gone, and the game is running better than it ever has.
I spoke with one other person in channel who had the costume creator crashing and suggested he install the new drivers - he did and it fixed him as well.
[edit: The being unable to close completely issue is still here, but less common]

Quote:Interesting. Your eye is much better than mine. I'm settling for crafting for 2 & selling for 4 at best these days.. a nice profit margin, but not a huge profit AND I'm only able to move 4-5 of these a day it seems. I'm starting to dabble in purples... but with almost negative luck so far.Yeah, I've noticed less 'give' in the market. However, every time I go looking, I find another three or five enhancements that I can craft for 5M and sell for 20M. I'm starting to think that setting my minimum at "10M per slot" is too low.
So, tried to teach myself Flipping again. I got it figured out, but I just don't like doing it. Strikes me as kinda mean. Nothing against flippers, because I'm basically doing the same thing by buying recipes and selling the enhancements, it is just not for me.
I'm curious, do you pick things out at random levels, or stick to the 40s & 50s? I've been sticking to the 40s & 50s, just because those seem to be where most folks look and relatively guaranteed sales.
Are you flipping recipes, ios or salvage? By this I assume you mean something like "buying a whole bunch at price x, reselling higher at price z while continually buying out the lower priced competitors"? -
Quote:I dropped JL on my elec/shield, and use the slots to better slot for defense (up to ~42% all so far, an elec/elec could probably get around ~10% all with a little spending) and didn't notice any hit to my dps - it may even have gone up due to my using CB & HP more. This would probably work even better for an elec/elec with LR. I'm going to test it on mine when I have the time to respec him.Electrical Melee has a fine single target attack chain... that happens to do some AoE damage. Do not hesitate to use Jacobs Ladder or Thunder Strike against a single opponent. You should find that sufficient for your needs. Of course, if there ARE other targets around, shifting position a bit to include them would be wise...

Is it just me or has the market tightened up a little in the last week or two? I'm not doing too horrible, up to about 250m from 100, but my first market character is basically locked up with things that the bottom has dropped out of but I'm too cheap to relist... no worries, lots of alts and patience.
Also, re: HVMs: Yes. I financed my elec/shield (separately, not through my market characters) by trading merits for, and selling, two Miracle uniques. Frankly I'm amazed the prices for them are still as high as they are. -
Update: This last change seems to have stabilized my system, I haven't had an issue since then.

Found it! I thought that section was just a summary section and hadn't even looked yet. Doh. Trying now.

I don't see anything with that label, is it "3D Refresh Rate Override" ? I have that set to "Disabled".

Quote:I just updated the data info for the mad recharge build with some of the newer stuff, sorry not a lot of time these days. I just took a quick look, so there may be some other perks I missed.Lobster please update your builds! I want my perma pets/haste poor maneuvers/assault
*CJ holds a LotG+rech, but you could stick that in pool maneuvers as well. You would not have any slots for it though, unless you maybe wanted to pull 1 acc out of spiderlings & 1 dmg out of reinforcements.
You *can* shave off at least 15% or so recharge and still have perma hasten and pets... so just use that at your discretion. Like you could cut out serum entirely and replace that with a maneuvers 5 slotted with Red Fortune. Or you could the slots out Shatter Armor and put them elsewhere. This build was really just a 'go nuts on recharge' build to give you a place to start. Just experiment with removing a set bonus or two and see where that leaves you. -
You guys are inspiring. I've been playing since launch and I still suck at this market thing. I starting trying to "seriously" market again a week ago... and I've managed to take my 100m->120m+50-60m in things waiting to sell. Not hugely impressive, but faster than farming. I think I'm still going about it wrong.

Quote:Hah! Small world. Nice to see someone else playing over there as well. I'm @imbri over there. You caught me, and I openly admit to being inspired by the tone of his guide. I've long wanted to write a guide for Warshades but was having trouble getting started. I recently started playing LoL as a PvP fix and stumbled on that guide. I liked the "plain English" approach he took. It was brutal, ugly, unprofessional, but honest and effective. I read his guide and couldn't help but hear it spoken by Sam Jackson while I thought "This is the exact mindset of a Warshade!"
He is not the first to take that tone in a guide, nor will I be the last. -

Checked both those things re: the monitor.
Whatever my issues are seem sporadic, it's driving me a little bit crazy. I haven't seen the line I mentioned in a few days. But...
Currently, when it has problems, the problem it has is "chunking" as I turn. Ie the framerate slows way down, but only as long as I am rotating. Moving forward, etc. works fine. -
Quote:This is kind of interesting, especially from my P.O.V. Imho, the villain content is much more fun - I haven't leveled a hero up since Dual Blades, but I've done many villains since then. They mean that the vast majority of side switching has been from Villain to Hero.
However, I have taken more alts towards blue than red simply because I have MMs I want to solo (dual box) TFs on and the red side TFs are not conducive to my playstyle (those end of TF gimmicks really screw with pets).
Aside from that though, anything I make will probably a) start in Praetoria and b) go red whenever the Pr content runs out.
PS. What is the color code for Praetoria? Yellow? I say that because you start loyalist... -
Definitely has the usual dom end issues at low levels (makes me want to wait to play until i19 :P), and seems squishier than my elec/energy (all the KB is actually useful) but the synergy between the auras and aoe sleep + heavy single target dps is too tasty to pass up.

Nice guide. I have to ask/wonder if the style was "borrowed" from the famous (on the relevant boards - League of Legends) "MFing Cho'Gath" guide. It seems too similar to be coincidence, maybe they are both running on the same memeblood from an old meme I'm unfamiliar with?
